There is clearly a lack of joined up thinking. But I recon we spoke to loads of managers last summer and this but the state of the club is apparent, probably more so with contacts within the game.

I agree with most of that, and we are obviously a shambles, but I was questioning whether we knew that multiple managers hadn’t turned us down last summer. For me it’s pretty clear loads did, Cooper himself said the deal took ages and I think that’s because we really wanted many other people instead of him. Edit: I think Piper said something on a podcast the other day about our attempts this summer which are similar to last. Experienced managers know that their next move dictates their career, and coming to a club massively on the way down with the added gamble of the unknown re points deductions, means they aren’t going to come to us.

I get what you are saying, but do you know for a fact that’s exactly what happened? Last summer we had a points deduction hanging over us, and would have been relegation favourites anyway, so how do we know Corboran or anyone else decent didn’t turn us down? Edit: that said, spending that money on Skipp regardless of the situation is a bit mental.

Marathon training is going alright so far and I’ve managed to stick to a routine which means I can still go to the gym and play football every 2 weeks. I’ve been doing some incline brutal runs on the treadmill which must have helped as I ran 9 miles yesterday morning which felt really comfortable.
