  1. 31:50 About the summer transfer window "We had some financial targets, if you want, restrictions as well."
  2. There was an early RL interview with Cifuentes where he let slip that there was a business plan in place with the EFL. Just found a reference to it on 11 sept. So it would around there , if anyone wants to scour BBC sounds and get his exact words.
  3. Joint 3rd. We finished 3rd bottom in 90-91 as well. Only 2 went down due to the 1st Division changing the number of teams.
  4. "Fergies Fledglings" Lee Sharpe - Torquay Ryan Giggs - Man City David Beckham - Spurs
  5. Can we put them in charge of the next transfer window?
  6. There's only one person determined to get the nobel peace prize. The orange one needs his legacy to be more than the riot and insurrection. He's desperate to do something, anything in Ukraine and or gaza
  7. Does Zelensky want a way to resign? Kick off, a few home truths, that maybe the sane ones in the US govt hear. Resign - not the right man blah blah New president, new start, blah blah They end up with a slightly better deal, Ukraine looks decisive/strong, US doesn't back down Trump is the macho hero. Am I clutching at straws?
  8. sigh... Thats why he was on the bench v Man U. The club really arent that daft. If he goes it is all evidence for the tribunal to set a fee.
  9. The retailer currently owes AOT more than 4 billion baht in outstanding MGs, incurring a hefty 18% annual interest (1.5% monthly). King Power has requested a reduction in this interest rate, prompting AOT to consider a rate linked to the Minimum Lending Rate (MLR) plus 2%, which would be approximately 9% per year. 4 billion baht or £95m Or less than Top has just written off. £17m in interest down to £8.5m I dont think anyone is losing sleep in KP at the moment.
  10. Is there a name for the 1st person to tell everyone the hilarious street name that Shepshed's ground is on?
  11. oh come on
  12. We need this guy NOW! We havent had a proper "character" since Benaloune. The man has pet crocodiles.

    Ew, really?

Toast & marmalade dipped in coffee - slightly en francais but my breakfast Chocolate milkshake (Yazoo or Nesqik) and a bag of mini cheddars Cheese and apple Stilton and beef in a sarnie, 60 seconds in the microwave is always better Milk and coke Failures Jelly tot sandwich - just vile Someone once told me mince pie, take the lid off, lump of stilton, lid back on, warm in microwave. NO! Just NO! Love a mince pie, love stilton but dont do it.
  14. There are always issues in naming anything after living individuals. Roads, building etc. Savile's View in Scarborough was hastily removed & renamed when Jimmy was outed as a wrong 'un. Mirror group newspapers quite quickly renamed Maxwell House after their owner disappeared around the time the pension funds were found to be a little short.
  15. But that's not really how it works though. I mean Alan Shearer born and bred in Newcastle was a Southampton youth team player. David Beckham is from that there London, not really on Man Utds doorstep.
  16. Half-time yesterday, Man Utd V Leicester. I think someone in charge of the TV feed is a Man City fan
  17. I love these stories. Not true though. What kit have they "bought" that's "incompatible" with Windows 10/11, Edge/Chrome and MS Office 365? NHS is 70% Dell and 90+% Microsoft and about 50/50 Apple/Android for phones. You'd have go along way to buy something that is incompatible.
  18. Yep we do. The discounts are massive. The cost of paracetamol in the NHS is hilarious about a penny a lorryload. My point was, if you audit every point along the supply chain from request, to order, to purchase, to delivery to site, to delivery to user the cost can to calculated to be quite significant. But that is true of any organisation. NHS procurement between following competition law, government policy, best practice and value for money is tight enough to squeak. As for manufacturing, its cheaper to buy.
  19. It's complicated..... I suspect that the pen example comes from someone somewhere doing an audit. By the time a member of staff on a ward has requested a box of pens (quick google, box of 50 for about £5 inc delivery) and they've followed it through the system, totted up the time it takes to request them, order them, accept delivery at site, then deliver to the ward could well use up enough time to cost significantly more than 10p a pen. But it does ignore the fact that receptionists, procurement staff, porters etc are there anyway and taking receipt of a parcel or delivering it to a ward really didnt cost anything. All large organisations will have similar hidden costs. USB chargers and similar - you can buy a cheap ebay "flame thrower" or a reputable brand and have it tested - again I dont recognise £25 but nor are they £2 - the costs incurred when a hospital burns down are significant. It's value for money versus cheap.
  20. I'm not saying I agree with it but a consultant (medical) once said to me Waiting lists are there for a reason. Mrs Goggins is 90 and has a bad hip. If I operate the operation will kill her, but she and her family are expecting me to do something. Do I really want to be responsible for her untimely death? If I put her on a 2 year waiting list she'll probably die before she gets seen. Sadly these are the choices that have to be made
  21. Struggling with railway examples, I can do NHS but I'll give it a go. 1st 2 - litigation & litigation If something goes wrong in a small business like say you pick up the phone dial a number and get number unobtainable - tbh so what? When the coroner asks the same question about a phone in a hospital it tends to focus the mind a little. If the paperwork isnt right then no chance, if it goes wrong then we all love to hear "can we have an investigation and root cause analysis" 3rd example - Most people wont sue a small company for wrongful dismissal because they havent got enough money to make it worth their while if they win. The public sector - woohoo, huge amount of glorious taxpayers money to go for. There are solicitors that specialise in this. So when they are sacked it's water tight (in most cases - i know of 1that still stings) and that takes time and appeals and process.
  22. Go on then - give me an example of "red tape". I'll give it a go to see if I can explain why.
