Whoever is next needs to bin this modern trend of putting a philosophy before anything else. We need someone who understands what Pearson understood - work ethic and character come first. The perfect example is him playing a struggling previously non-league Vardy ahead of marquee signing Jermaine Beckford.

Haven’t heard the chant, but the club statement really would have benefitted by acknowledging legitimate concerns for fan anger. As it does not it comes across as gas lighting, provocative and therefore unhelpful.

It’s infuriating. What our young ones offer can’t be worse than what we’ve been seeing. They are also assets. Play them and they are worth more. We are so badly run. Page was also keeping Alves out whilst all this went on so Alves felt like he had to force a loan to get playing time. Shambles.

If we do go down I will love seeing the club bin nft at the gates and beg us to come back via physical season tickets.

There is something really wrong at this club re: our attitude to academy players. Alves had to leave for game time too. It makes zero sense from a football or business sense.

What are we playing Coventry off the park aside from scoring and a few weeks later completely imploding?

Playing the academy lads not only develops them as players but also as assets. It’s nuts for the club to be so timid with them.

This lot seem to act like fungus on any manger. Pearson chose players with character and work ethic. This is the opposite. The most toxic squad ever? Dennis Wise days may have been worse, but I’m not certain.

This. I just cannot understand why we didn’t blood the youth this season. You just can’t tell me that Nelson, Page, Alves, Monga and that striker lad wouldn’t have improved us this season. It would have also galvanised the fans.

Fatawu for all his occasional brilliance will never make it at Premier League level if he doesn’t improve his final ball, which is more often than not absolutely dreadful.

That second half is on the team. The mentality isn’t there. Neither is the quality. We have a lot of players who are not as good as they think they are.

The players in that second half were awful. Terrible lack of quality up front.

Exactly. Two of my old school mates took their own lives this year. One of them was a really positive guy who looked to have so much going for him. It was a massive shock.

We’re third in the league and things haven’t clicked yet. Foxestalk in panicked meltdown. Again.

There might be some truth in this. Alves was in the squad and being given the red carpet treatment before he signed a new contract. As soon as he’d done so the club brought in BcDR, Buananotte and Ayew, all of whom play in his position. Two midfielders have been brought in now who play in Page’s position. We’ll see how the club treats him now. Good result though. I’d heard there might have been Premier league interest in Page.
