  1. I mean FFs…look at those conversion rates.. Even the PL strikers all of them miss the target or see their attempts saved blocked fked up on a regular basis… sort of a lazy shot.. Because one would expect PL strikers to earn their bread, they are better quality, but you can only compare, when we ourselves are competing in the PL, after we earned promotion, and developed and evolved over these 20 games, plus, small tweaks and changes have been made including some incoming transfers I find with this post, your expectations on what is delivered in reality is somewhat OTT. If your not impressed today, then give some examples of seasons past where top 15 championship over seasons delivered higher performances.. It was never obvious we are stronger…this whole forum and situation was worrying if we could stand our ground and compete for just top 6, or dive into the next league. FT was shitting itself even into the first few games,Enzo being questioned. I always prefer to wait and see and has a fan, believe everytime is a 3 Pter. until proved otherwise… No my friend you are using the whole cabash as it was predained, where in reality one is clever after the event.. Every phase you have doubted, but Enzo‘s squad has picked up the guantlet and stepped up to the plate…Everytime. This doesn’t mean,we haven’t got our job cut out, when we achieve promotion, but isn’t that the idea…? Earn and prove your right to compete, and take on the challenge that’s before you.. And not weasel, through every challenge
  2. Leicester 26 21 2 3 36 65 Look pretty good so far.. Are the other teams going to make it harder for us. Can they compete and take more points off us, Will those 11pts increase drastically. Where do fans see our dodgey periods. Can those following top 3,hold form and catch us, or are we too far away, considering their own suprise loss of points. Are we so secure in our squad quality and the Enzo-System.. # we will drop less than 7 pts # become unstoppable that each game is too far for our opposition. # or still see it home, losing 4-7 games with also hard fought draws. # How far in our cup Run..? #no worries just sit back & enjoy.. Is it now more prudent to shape the squad for PL, and slowly prepare that We won't see massive funds for reinvestment..
  3. Maybe Enzo took all this into thoughts. football managers and clubs, look at players in a total different way has the fans perspective..Look what he’s got.. Your post insuates Enzo-choice-Castadei failed..but it ain’t.. #A full season to work with a 19yr old who WILL listen and do what he asks # Potential talent that will translate his ideology on field # accepting he will have young player flaws # The whole bloody Leicester city project and all players was a gamble or risk.. # Castadei May have wackle moments, but I don’t believe he had a bad game. # He actually did contribute from the beginning… # desired level…Enzo saw his choice grow to that level ## If fans haven’t noticed in 20 games (IMO) more good than bad..Not always used ## Still 20 games plus cup run to go..!! # Enzo has got the player he wanted out of Castadei and potential more to go. § Too many fans concentrate first on errors & mistakes, including how the flow of their team movement are slowed or breaks down… Enzo is giving us a totally new aspect and potential, how he sees understands he wants to see player & ball move…Its all new for everybody involved. Individual errors, are going to happen, but Enzo even covered that in his tactics talk.. Transitions being held back and redistribution of movement. At present I believe it’s wiser as a fan, just to sit back and enjoy another Leicester Story developing and yes take the cracks & indifferent form, mistakes and errors. Especially has few saw,the success we are having.. Opinions how players performed is more than ok,but not just throwing out that Players will never be up to the task and everyweek pushing put downs.
  4. I the old days, one could still slip back into the mainstream.. Plus we didn't have such a split society.. These last year's, elite or high potential sportsmen/women.. Push themselves to extremes, hard mental routines & training targets, besides the obvious physical necessities for one's chosen sport. One's head gets mighty confused for awhile, still wanting, needing, feeding, routines that your body no longer can keep. Often it's also the small things and details that can grow into burdens. The explosion of sponsorship, self marketing and management, took away a lot of "self" not only group and personal trainers, advisors are at your feet... Some of the support & contacts, will stay around, but soulmate are few or non-existent, as mentioned some souls in this split society just haven't anybody understanding to turn to, plus understanding ones demands or needs, but Most do get through. My own experience my own aspirations also taken from under me.. It caught me in that twighlight zone between amateur - proffesional, name doing the rounds, but not quite taken off.. I struggled and often fell into feeling down for some reason of regret, but I luckily had other outlets great GFs, then wife and another aspiration to hold onto. People are frail but also resolute, especially if they themselves can map their future... But today, those sponsors, agents though giving young kids that great chance in life.. ( different levels), just I suppose nature of the beast, the school kids who mature reach various high levels, some with medals & trophies on their sideboards stay in their secure bubble, either career being cut short or come to a natural end, have had the normal, natural process of "thinking" allowed to be taken away, because of giving all to those daily routines. That one pushes to the limit. It's good recognising the problem and from within and across each sport, there is the support and organisations to call on today.. It depends how the individual sees his own needs and acts upon it.. Even though majority, do go through their natural positive career "endings" & take up their further life's thread. We are not bereth or short of organisation's and support. for those that struggle.. Government though improved is still failing and tracking our Military-servers. Certain sympathies and understanding all round, but everywhere in our secure Western world bubble, within and amid our normal folk, through different levels of our society we have, through no fault of their own struggle through their daily-Routine..
  5. It was Charles Keene College.. Clarence house, was one of the locations fof CKC.. On some days, at the lunch break.. Went around to Lotus house for a businessmans Lunch 50p. On weekend, with Rugby friends we use to have get together at Jazz-night at Lotus house... Back to CKC.. WHEN I was a student, & those great Chip butty days.. Some of old Leicester was to be found and mixed with old Haunts & New. Baileys a must, but also the old Palais. Different estates would do their weekend pub crawls at different pubs, but mix a other's.. Hollyrood, then a new haunt, the cliques would mix, where Humbestone gate pubs usually had their split customers.. Just before Grannies started Fusion was where lads n lasses strut their stuff, and just before Palais was maybe at its peak. with GERRY DORSEY a patron.. Bentleys factories through Apprentices & workers, plus many other then top workshop & factories, served the center well, not forgetting the summer forages to the various shire pubs. I suppose the kick off time, for the salt of the earth working class finding their city favorite restaurants. I was lucky.. I had 5 cliques.. for my pastimes.. Old best mates.. Rugby cliques.. Sporting contacts either participants or fans,... Family pub "locals" and despite Engineering background, I had time in the gastronomy mainly "Cellarman" and pool landlord.a family within itself. Strange That an injury..... ( no more 6 days training and off to play or compete plus work) Seen me into the world of expeditions & self discovery.. Work on foreign projects, or just going off grid.. Now I am fcked, shattered, fighting hard.. but had to work and play hard to accomplish this acclaim.
  6. HE just has to go through his apprenticeship... HE will grow for/with us, this side(2024) of the season.. Then decision time.. Stay & develope.. Guaranteed high % of games, or Go back to Chelsea compete with 5 others, a chance for superstadom.. I said before Xmas, this guy has and ticks all the boxes, he just needs gametime. He's 20 what do fans expect, outside Ronaldo we have seen few teenagers ( & still rough edges) explode onto the scene. Enzo knew what he was getting, raw talent, that would occasionally deliver. With Ndidi now injured, not just Afcon, we have a well prept Castadei who, not yet automatic first on teamsheet. Might have to compete with Akgun and Enzo wanting to tinker. But he is proven quality, with somethings to be ironed out.. IMO he wasn't has bad, as some portrayed, just a young kid with rough, ready to show what he could do.. Now he has won more plaudits & friends.. He's ready to kick on..
  7. Also for those that get eventual career-ending injuries before their time Some ( modern times) are on a good contract.. Others have to rebuild and switch mentality and aptitude..That can take a few years, if one hasn't got an Outlet. Some push on, some fall by the wayside.. Same has our Military servers. Though since the 80s,there have been organisation's that do help, and sometimes out of ignorance, Machoism,.. etc Individuals don't speak to family, or pick up the Phone... Then the hardest of calls and decisions, "Get on with life" search, find, fight to find those life's compromises & Journeys.. Many do.!!
  8. You know what.. I am not sure now.. I went to 2 colleges in the course of my Aprrenticeship & extension One place, but different addresses.. What college was on the now Clarence house...????
  9. Charles Keene college..chip butties New Parks.. neighbours Braunstone, across Western park cut. Braggie park Abbey Park.. Blackbird Empire Norths toy shop melton road Leicester Market of old..> best in the land< Fusion Baileys nite club Dirty Duck Yates Palais Free wheeler Grannies Annabels Tigers, & SLRFC Coritanians forgot it’s Name Disco tucked behind in near StMargets Swimming baths Every pub in Leicester & shire 1967-1978:- Belgrave gate/Belgrave road to End of Melton Rd::‘ The pubs and fish n chip shops on every bloody corner Seven hills All early Indian & Chines restaurants Lotus to Kohinoor Then the slow build of Indian town restaurants Workingmens social clubs.. 10. „“““ Sorry““. Just out of interest, from those that follow in detail.. are there any players around in these leagues that went through the Vardy Academy…??
  11. Nothing against Evans, goodluck to the fella… When putting on any shirt he’s been proffesional and put in his shift and performances with dedication.. His story a good professional,International to boot.. Injuries way laid his career, but didn’t put a stop to it, plyed(ing) his trade more often at high PL-level. most decorated Northern Ireland international 3 PL titles,FA.cup(short appearance) League cup Champions Leage/Club World Cup.. But his various stints, prove he goes through the expected routine, but ready to call foul through attitude without mudding the waters or creating a storm…Trys to want to hold a balance, and is a good leader, Happy to use his injuries to, show dissent/disproval of clubs/manager’s Attitude towards future aspirations & potential. > WBA- Leicester < Like many before him „ Loves Manutd „ Maybe ..!!•like Schmeichel, Vardy( who rode it out), others,Evans saw through some managers Veil & struggles in delivering..His idea of.Manutd levels. He was/is a damn good CB,shame Rodgers played silly buggers, with his experienced players.. We have had top CBs at Leicester, he belonged and we have had quite a few,to one of the best.. Over a short period over two seasons with Soyuncu, both kept those Other top 4 candidate running blind and lifted their club/team into those long high flying sorted covetted positions…
  12. Though in many citiies/areas needed, The day they first started building those new stadiums, still missing a central meet, & decent food and drink like on the continent, "they" failed massively serving socially the local community.. Small Malls, with various food offers & shared seating.. Sport orientated shops, small football paraphanalia kiosks and small TV-ROOMS on clubs history. Algamating Fox-hub type of panels and past highlights.. Running under the concourse & around the ground. Using the full GameDay whether w. end or Weekday. Plus prepared for home supporters to watch the away game.. Add one maybe 2 open days, when no game is being played. Great time for tours experience. Again decent prices.. Plus under the guise from VAR, a refs room explaining the rules of he game per video training I mean ffs.. It's fking pathetic after all these years.. The owners, Top successfull businessmen/women to boot can't get this organized has a shared business filiales. What an opportunity that has been left begging for years.. A family, mates, son & Dad full day out experience for both home and away fans.. Don't have fans hanging around the town looking for something to do, Like the old circus, roll them in around the happening, but with better facilities and amenities.. I mean again for ffs, we see exhibitions do it.. There you see sell some day space for exhibitions of retail businesses, so fans can look at cars, antique road show, holiday tips, DIY tips.. Why we are not so far, I really don't know, plus it would help with those boisterous or hooligan moments within the cities, where normal non football fans can get on with their lives. It still wouldn't prevent fans( or wives) visiting the city..
  13. But that's half the fun.. When on top.. Crow, when lagging behind, biting at the heels using old wadding has ammunition.
  14. It's not the German per se, just the media are more conceited, and hardly go down the British media ways of hanging ALL the washing past & present on politicians/celebs line.. The normal German will discuss until the cows come home (Ostfriesen, through Hessen splitting down to Bayern and Blackforest cows). Over Likes. hates, good, bad politics.. & life. With turn of wit & sarcasm.. unlike the since the war British propaganda, Germans guys n gals on the streets Do have a sense of Humour. Galgen and self.!! Due to language and cultural variants, timing is slightly different, but still the same shit... Plus a theory of mine depending which language culture they learnt.. ENGLISH or the American version..
  15. I actually don't know, if it was one of my relations that coined that phrase or nickname... Bill Anderson was visiting with another journalist on an invite at Grace Road, I was then a member and it was a BH fixture, and I was with a couple of Friends and my cousin who was at the Mercury, and during dinner, the topic got onto Germans and Europeans turning to cricket... My cousin asked Anderson what his thoughts might be from the footballers perspective and addressed him has Uwe, while ( I can't remember why, now) Uwe Seeler Was on the British sports papers pages on that day.. Just one of those anecdotes that crop up during cricket player-members dinners as one does.. Sorry.. Weird what comes in handy years later.
  16. Helmut Kohl.. Shouldn't BE on the list.. HE Fought with Maggie Thatcher to try and keep the Wall.. Though when the People of E. Germany & Poland, from the streets forced the situation.. Many Politians jumped on the movement.. AND Kohl's work in the actual reunification, will have its Plaudits & critics.. I was in North Pakistan, when the Wall fell... WE were parked up just outside a Village, just preparing for a Trek and the Crowds gathered to take us to a the village TV meeting place.. IT was from the previous night... Wow, I was pleasantly shocked, thought it would still take 5-10 years, and for me an Engländer who through my wife & work got to know Germany, I cried like a child. Lived & worked in Berlin, knew many Berliner & though difficult, some East Germans, taking on its whole History.. For me and from my Perspective, the greatest event and issue in my Life.. Somehow so proud of the Organisation & various groups around E. Germany & Poland.. all people from the street..!! From Adenauer one of the most respected Politians and well served Politicians.. through the tragedy of the Walls beginning and eventual collapse, the serving office of Willy Brandt.. Came out my positives towards the Germans. Though I could debate also a good collection of negatives, if & when pulled in.. Before I met my wife I worked all over Germany, but still in those early days leaning towards France, Spain.. IN THE End.. coincidence after my expeditions & adventures, even considering Mexico, & Nepal, I was head hunted for simple technical position in Germany & my last year's fell more in love with Germany.. Franz Beckenbauer/Bobby Charlton/Bobby Moore/Pele, just legends that ran off the Tongue, with my German history, The Kaisers running CV, was part of a football fans interest. Though BvB are my 2nd team. Kaiser had his unfavourable moments, through that CV, not everybody could be the Bobby Charlton reserved & relaxed, but Franz did take more on, after finishing playing and what great Peaks..! HE had that special something... Another massive Legend with stars on his lapels passes.
  17. Hey ..how about….He come from his loan..Enzo does his magic& Soumare becomes another Enzo-Miracle.
  18. I hope they do..Wembley should be the prize,for the 2 finalists..
  19. All our players are squad players… First choice..?? Let Enzo decide that…So far. FT-0 Enzo-23
  20. Quarter-final….Leicester vs L.’ Pool……2-1..Mads MoM,saves penalty. KDH/Faes Semi-Final……..Leicester vs Forest…….4-2…Castadei ( 2) Cannon Mavididi. Final……………....Leicester vs Ipswich….3-1…Mavididi, Cannon, Fatawu 2024 First FA.cup final competed with Championship sides. West Ham 1980, last time 2nd tier side won FA.cup.. Since PL….No team has achieved this feat.. Sunderland & Southamton 2 others, this side of WW2.1973 & 76 respectively.. Spurs (1901)….being the only non league ( southern league) to win FA.Cup Arsenal the most successfull team,(14) Wenger (7) the most successfull manager. But L.Pool ( 8 time winners )..saw them off this season..
  21. We might not play them again for awhile… We & and they should enjoy the day out… Lets welcome our neighbours… We could inform of our pre-match watering holes, have a good Lunch time ,before match… Then welcome them back after the game, for an early tea…compare Balti pies,or a decent goodbye spread… Tell them we are sorry after we whup them 5-1,that we are very sad that we won’t be playing « Good neighbours » over the next few seasons…because we find them to be quite decent salt of the earth fans like us… THEN treating their turf has our own, with a wave tell them It was a pleasure to have met them, but we must part our ways, building up to party with A.Villa & Forest fans, while these 2 have beers that are far better than those found in Coventry. See one can be so friendly if we really try..
  22. Thankfully…. Nice & boring to the final..
  23. Can't wait for the seasonal squirrel.. When are we playing QPR..??
  24. 2 different players.. Good to have both type of choices available... Dont forget we need a squad.. One will do better on different occasions... It might be down the line, we might want to play both.. LIKE many fans suggested for Nacho-Vardy, or Nacho-Daka..
  25. Ndidi found himself again this season, of late due to what I believe were first, little jiggles, he drifted in & out of his last games. Then before the reveal of AFCON woes, the camara coincidently pans over Ndidi Twice at end of his last games speaking to someone ( I don't know him) over a injury issue.. Castadei will be seeing a lot more game time.. Though unlike others, He's done a reasonable job, 19yr old. making mistakes learning his trade.. In a new squad, learning a new system.. No worries.. We are in squad developement wise in a comfortable position.. Enzo and his team just fill me with confidence handling the squad... Other than the banter, we can't have too much to worry about..
