  1. As much as I've made that joke elsewhere, I highly doubt Cooper would have taken the Wales job. You get paid peanuts and there's very little support from the FAW. It'll either be someone whose career has stalled/ended like Tony Pulis looming out of retirement a la Josh Toshack, or it'll be a young, moderately recently retired Welsh International. As much as Osian Roberts would be the fans' favourite, I think there's a strong case for him being a more highly regarded coach and maybe manager than Cooper at the moment and after his stint at Como, I think he'll get better jobs than Wales. A couple years ago it looked like Bellers had blown his start to coaching with the youth academy bust up but he seems to have found his feet getting back to it at Burnley. I can definitely see him being interviewed, all jokes aside.
  2. Head says Osian. Heart says Bellers. FAW probably says Andy Melville or some shit. Page had to go though. He was basically our Southgate, really good cheerleader, fostered a good team atmosphere, likeable guy, players liked him, but just zero tactical sense at all. Just reliant on the players producing individual moments to win games, exactly like Southgate.
  3. Try being Welsh and a Leicester fan. The duality of not thinking Cooper is good enough for Leicester but I'd give anything to have him replace Rob Page.
  4. Jeg beklager oprigtigt. Jeg vil sørge for ikke at begå denne fejl igen.
  5. Tbf it's hard to imagine someone worse at this than Brendan Rodgers.
  6. Not really bothered looking at the bracket much til now. Am I right in saying you won't meet any other group winner until at least the semi finals? Where as Spain Germany will almost certainly be a quarter final as will potentially (assuming they get their shit together) Belgium France? Southgate gets some ****ing luck in the draws doesn't he
  7. You obviously missed my posts on Andy King.
  8. Disappointed with Italy tbh. Spalletti's Napoli were absolutely brilliant. Would never have played this passively. I know Spain have been brilliant but Italy haven't even tried to get at them really.
  9. Southgate's football is the complete opposite of Enzo in almost every way it's possible.
  10. Is it that time of the match where I say Morata is shit and he scores?
  11. Yamal and Williams are like watching some chav on FIFA that only plays 5* dribblers with 99 pace and never does anything but run with the ball.
  12. Maybe he thinks it means Right Back and he's just using it for both of them!?
  13. I'm not tripping am I? He keeps calling Di Lorenzo, Carvajal? Like, not just the wrong player but the wrong country and actually the country they're playing against? He's done it multiple times?
  14. Listening to a team of professional pundits spend all of half time desperately trying to pretend Gareth Southgate'tactical ineptitude isn't your problem is a good reason to have advert breaks.
  15. Yes, almost like it was deliberate hyperbole for effect. Like, idk, 85% of my posts?
  16. I assume we're all cheering on Kasper, Vesty, VK and Mads right?
  17. The style of play is Top isn't it, he's the Barcelona enthusiast. Don't really think Rudkin has any footballing philosophy of note does he tbf. But I do agree Cooper has presumably been hired after convincing in an interview that that's how he wants to play.
  18. Tbh I'm not convinced by RVN in the slightest. Actually more excited by the Ponty Pep than Ruud.
  19. I've, probably unsurprisingly, got quite a few friends who are Jacks. I've known about Cooper long before he rocked up in the Midlands and I'm aware his Swansea side played a lot differently to his Forest side. But, honestly, this is part of the problem for me. I appreciate a LOT of this forum want a pragmatist but I'm quite suspicious of someone that preaches a way of playing like a disciple of the theory but then implements something completely different because they're struggling to pull it off. Enzo turned up at a squad that many on here had written off as incapable of playing technical football and got all of them, even Wilf and Hamza, playing like peak Brazil within days. But Cooper's Forest weren't just bad they were hideous. I think it's disingenuous a lot of the time to dismiss teams as lucky for the final league standings, it's a 38 game season after all, but they really were saved by some obnoxiously flukey moments in what was an immensely narrow race and honestly finishing ahead of us and Everton was no great achievement.
  20. If the first thing he does is bring in a set piece coach that Brentford rate then I immediately revoke every single bit of criticism and will pronounce him a genius. I'm even going to start bragging that he grew up just down the road from my nan.
  21. I don't really think that extremely unsubtly pushing people to spell their bigotry out loud is even vaguely sinister to be honest. Rumble just turned his own game back around at him which is fine by me.
  22. I can't speak for @RumbleFox but part of the problem for me is that when people use terms like "agenda" in this context, what they're usually doing is dog whistling and looking to imply something sinister (ohmygosh the woke feminist oppressors!) It's quite telling that instead of just having the maturity to say "The BBC has obviously in the last decade or so promoted commentators and analysts from groups previously underrepresented in the field", these people tend to awkwardly reply with "you know what I mean wink wink" responses like they're going to get in trouble if they just say "The BBC has obviously in the last decade or so promoted commentators and analysts from groups previously underrepresented in the field." That attitude is what gets to me. But then again, referring to simply trying to promote better inclusion and representation as "an ideology" seems a bit of a stretch to me. It's just a policy and one you'll find everywhere in the media at the moment. What tickles me a bit is that it's usually more conservative leaning people that will complain about it with accusations of "woke", yet it's typically done for capitalist reasons more than liberal ethical ones - companies want broader appeal to attract the widest market share possible and they've cottoned on to the fact that better representation brings that these days.
  23. Can we draw a line under comments about people's physical appearance now and just pack it in. Pretty sure everyone's got the jokes out of their system by now. You can be disappointed with the recruitment without being a shit human being about it. Doesn't really reflect very well on us as a fanbase.
