  1. The people expecting any of Chelseas good players to come here
  2. It's a myth that he was great every minute he played for Smith. He put in a couple of alright performances and just as many eh ones. I've defended Soumaré more than most but he's never looked like he wanted to be here he's always had extremely inconsistent work rate and output and he's always looked completely bamboozled by the speed of the game in England. I'm not writing him off entirely but I'll be very surprised if he suddenly turns it around now.
  3. It's likely that nobody will buy Soumaré, true. But I'd say there's probably more chance he gets another loan than plays for Cooper personally.
  4. Tbf if Moder wants to graft and Soumare still doesn't then his value to us is a thousand times higher. This season is going to be an absolute war. We need people that are going to roll their sleeves up. Even someone immensely willing to defend Soumaré isn't going to describe him as a warrior.
  5. Chelsea captain and England International who's probably worth double KDH Gallagher?
  6. People who refuse to blow their nose. For like. Hours. STOP ****ING SNIFFING FOR **** SAKES YOU'RE AN ADULT
  7. Eh. Trump isn't exactly functional either, he's made a mountain of dementia gaffs recently. He was just more coked than Biden last night.
  8. People on the whole are pretty stupid and believe everything they read on vaguely official looking websites. The Onion has been proving this for decades.
  9. OK. So. The sanctions in question for failure to report was to the EFL. What they wanted was for us to outline our strategy for how we were going to get compliant and threatened us with a transfer embargo until we did. We, essentially, laughed in their face. Our 23/24 finances aren't out and won't be for a long time and any previous breaches are and were nothing to do with them. Unless we go straight back down, the EFL aren't a problem. Even then, we're only answerable to them for whatever we did this season. The only body we need to worry about right now and the only one that can sanction any points deductions are the Premier League. They care about two things, whether or now we failed to comply in any one season we were in the Premier League and whether or not we fail to comply in any three year rolling period. We know we are already due a points deduction for incurring too large losses in a single season last time we were in the Prem. What's being suggested by Football Insider (who are an absolute Z tier source just parrot other sources and who are posting 99% clickbait for engagement) is that we may also need to sell before July 1st or face a further points deduction for being in breach over the 3 year period ending in a few days also. Given that the finances for this period won't be fully revealed for quite a while yet and the speed at which these things get concluded (and how many clubs might be non compliant) it's actually extremely possible that any second points deduction might not even be handed out until the 25/26 season anyway. But it's also likely that we'll sell KDH in the 24 hours and thus dodge the issue anyway.
  10. Mavididi had put up numbers in one of Europe's top five leagues that were comparable to Harvey Barnes. And he cost us probably just over a million a year for FFP/PSR over the duration of his contract. Peanuts. Not quite the same tbf. Moder would be a lot less exciting.
  11. They may have to for their own FFP. Not as a direct swap but as the same quid pro quo deal that half the Prem is doing at the moment. They buy Dewsbury-Hall for a flattering fee and we buy one of theirs in return for a bump in this season's balance. Obviously rather we don't do this, depending on who it is, would much rather a loan or something non committal until we sort our finances out but they'll probably want something in return. I suppose we do possibly need a conventional left back now and Enzo will want to get rid of any that can't play the inverted role. They've got a Leicester academy graduate knocking about they could send back.....
  12. How did the USA get that penalty over turned? Highlights I've just watched were shit quality but looked like their man absolutely ****ing cleaned out the Panama forward.
  13. Only as good as your last performance. We haven't played them in a major tournament since!
  14. In any sensible world with sensible rules, you'd be right. But you need to understand amortisation and it's role within FFP. With amortisation, when you buy a footballer you don't put the entire fee you pay for him in the loss column for the season you do the deal. Instead, you break it up and spread it out evenly amongst every year of his contract. So a 25m player on a five year contract doesn't take 25m out of your budget this year, he takes 5 (but he also takes 5 in every subsequent season.) When you sell a player, however, the opposite happens. You put the entire fee you received in your income column for that period right then and there. With one caveat. If that player still has a "book value" - which means money left to be cleared by that amortisation - you have to deduct it all immediately as a loss in the period you sell him and what you wind up with is just the net profit. So if we sell that £25m player a year later, he's got 20m left on his book value so even if we sell him for £30m we only actually "gain" £10m for FFP. Where as KDH has no book value, because he's either an academy graduate, a free transfer or a player who has seen out the entirety of his original contract, his book value is 0. So whatever we sell him for doesn't get offset. Basically, we could sell KDH for 30m or Soumare for 40m and we'd still probably be better off for FFP with KDH going than Soumaré. I know that doesn't actually make sense, but does it make sense?
  15. You'll struggle to find a Brighton fan who doesn't think he's been enormously underwhelming since he's come back from injury. Where as Ricky was phenomenal last year and Barnes put up great numbers after coming back. Nobody's saying you can't get over an acl, they're saying Moder apparently hasn't.
  16. Swap deals and player plus cash deals don't happen. They were rare back in the 90s but they definitely don't happen in the FFP world and they certainly aren't happening with PSR looming. I'd be surprised if it isn't structured similarly to Maddison and Winks. We sell one, a very short time later we conveniently buy the other. That'll probably be why it's nowhere near over the line despite both players apparently having done medicals and possibly agreeing contracts. Leicester will want the fee for KDH to be as high as possible even if that means paying more for Moder. We'd rather get 40m for KDH and buy Moder for 15m than sell KDH for 25 and get Moder free. We need the money in the win column this year, right now. But Brighton are the wrong club to be dealing with. Unlike Newcastle, Everton, Villa and Co, Brighton don't need that money desperately at the moment. What they want, in fact, is to avoid having KDH tied to such significant amortisation for the upcoming seasons. Literally the opposite. So they will want to use Moder as a make weight to bring down the KDH fee by convincing us he's an adequate replacement (he isn't) instead. This is definitely one to let Susan negotiate while Jon and Top wait in the creche.
  17. Oh **** off Jon
  18. I'm not surprised it's happening. I wouldn't be mad at all if it wasn't for the Moder rumour tbqh.
  19. Not to mention he'll get more injuries longer than 8 weeks than he'll get goal contributions.
  20. It wasn't funny in the other thread pal
  21. Immediately signs for Chelsea.
  22. He's played over fifty times for Brighton, nearly 30 for his country, there's a mountain of video and statistical evidence? It's not 1973, if you sign a bloke from more than just the next village over, genuinely people have heard of them. Jakub Moder will be the next Dennis Praet. Will spend 5 years on the books of this club without contributing anything of significant value whilst we just hang on clock watching, waiting for his contract to run out so we can finally stop paying him a wage.
  23. Would rather him go to Chelsea and them loan us someone than we sign Moder on a five year contract. We finally get rid of Dennis Praet and sign another anonymous midfielder that does nothing? Rudkin the absolute **** out. Man couldn't build a squad on FIFA with the cheats on.
