  1. I'm really confused about The Bear and hoping someone can give me hope with it given it's, generally, universal acclaim. Firstly, is it meant to be a comedy as I've not even smirked once in the first 6 episodes and don't even find the drama particularly tense (like a soft version of Boiling Point). Given the rave reviews, I've been bored out my head watching it and wondering if it gets at all better or is it a case that's it's simply not my cup of tea?
  2. Because the Tories and right wing rags went mental when they didn't.

  4. I just can't hear that anthem without this going through my mind. Better than f**king Post Malone.
  5. Shame.
  6. Maybe the campfire scene would survive the cut?
  7. If you please.
  8. Will become more and more common in the coming months now the writing is on the wall for the incumbents. These leeches will just follow the power and endorse whoever is going to win to make sure they've got an ear. The rags will be the next to turn.
  9. Can I be the really miserable one and point out they'd never used high fuel loads before as they didn't want to irradiate the reactor vessel. Last ops running so they just slung a load of fuel in.
  10. Time to run away to Florida with the P790s.
  11. Respectfully, I'm not sharing the personal details of families care to settle a point on a football forum. Happy to discuss the wider issues though. Edit-Not saying you are either!
  12. There was no availability at the council ones.
  13. Anyone who has had to support the financial cost of relatives in care realise the costs associate with old age. Most of these figures arn't exclusively based on needing £30k a year to live mortage free and spend £2k p/m on Saga cruises. As an example, as a family, we're all contributing to my Gran's care home cost at the delightful sum of £1,400 per week (the lower end cost home was £950). For those lucky enough to be independent and slip away at night at home, significantly less annual income would be enough, but sadly we don't have the gift of knowing where and when we're going to die or the care we're going to need. Retirement costs are far more than just getting your chip supper on the table every night.
  14. Got my stag do at the most high brow, definition of fine taste, Las Vegas in March. Been a few times before, but first time with a group of mates. Can't wait!

  16. BBC should be so far to the left it's off the chart.
  17. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-68220627 "A door that blew away from a Boeing 737 Max shortly after take-off may not have been properly secured, a new report says. The US National Transportation Safety Board has released initial findings from its probe into the incident on an Alaska Airlines plane in January. It says four key bolts that were meant to lock the unused door to the fuselage appeared to be missing." Rather impressive that the speculation was that they'd mis-torqued the bolts or that that locking pin had some how come loose. Oh no, they simply forgot the bolts. Oh dear... Just goes to prove you can design the most wonderful thing, but when it's assembled and inspected by monkeys all the risk mitigation often counts for F.A.
  18. Drive to Survive writers frigging themselves off to this.
  19. Seems reasonably sensible to release the big "exclusives" 1 or 2 years after they've launched on other platforms. Games have such a short shelf life with respect to them pulling in consumers. It's money for MS down the line and gives more people the opportunity to play the games. Historically console sales havn't been the money maker and exist to get consumers into the companies eco-systems. The only way I can picture MS ditching hardware is If Sony/Nintendo allowed Gamepass on their platforms which seems to become more likely as time goes on.
  20. Pretty powerful piece
