  1. Fvck this season. Up there with the very worst I've endured in 40 plus years following football.
  2. Based on what happened last time, the FA will take weeks to make a decision and give him a 2 game ban. Still furious he was allowed to play on and win Wolves 6 points over Xmas, after what he did against Ipswich. Not that it will make any difference now as Wolves already have more points than we'll manage all season.
  3. I'm the same, though I actually feel that this is one of the few games left where we could get a result.
  4. On a positive note, we only have to play 2 matches between now and 5 April, which is a blessed relief.
  5. Has to go now. End of. No fight, no energy, no ideas.
  6. Suspect Ruud's response will be to bring on Coady and Ayew for BEK and Facundo.
  7. I just laughed out loud at their second goal. How are so-called PL defenders conceding that? Truly embarrassing.
  8. The atmosphere in the crowd for that run was almost on a par with the UCL matches. Was a pleasure to be part of.
  9. Mine too. Watching those clips from Burnley has made me quite emotional. What an absolute legend he is. He was so good at identifying not only talented players but those with the right attitude, something totally lacking in nearly all of the current lot.
  10. I thought the same. If we can’t compete with Brentford at home, then we might as well ask to be relegated now. What a sad state of affairs.
  11. Title and relegation places all but settled with 12 matches to go. #bestleagueintheworld
  12. Newcastle have been so complacent and sloppy this half. Would have been great to see Forest get a hammering.
  13. I think he'll leave by mutual agreement this weekend. His position is simply untenable now. 10 defeats in 11, basically saying in his interview last night that the players can't even compete with a lower mid table team at home, players falling out on the pitch and patently giving up last night, and he's showing absolutely no sign of having any ideas on how to turn this around (in fact, doubling down on the same failing approach again and again).
  14. In a team with a lot of unlikeable players, he's the one I dislike the most.
  15. No, as I said in a separate thread, the main difference between Cooper's reign and Ruud's is that the team overall has a much better structure now. As a result, we are producing far better passing patterns through midfield and conceding far fewer shots than under Cooper. The problem is that Ruud is topping that structure off with our oldest, slowest players so we look totally toothless going forward and can't really press opposition defenders (apart from BEK running himself into the ground doing the work of the 3 forwards in front of him). And we still have the same players at the back making individual errors game after game, so we are continuing to leak goals. Of course, I can see why people say it's not all over as we are only 2 points from safety but it's hard not to see Wolves pulling away from us. They've had another really tough set of fixtures since Xmas, but looking ahead, after Saturday, they have a much more favourable run in than us. Plus, they made several signings in January to address weaknesses, which we weren't able to do, and have one of the most in-form strikers in the league. There is no way that we would go to Anfield and have a second half performance like theirs yesterday.
  16. Wolves will soon pull away like Everton have. They look several levels better than us.
  17. Liverpool have been so sloppy today.

  19. I think Wilf became underrated after his dip in form towards the end of the Rodgers era. Before that, I think he was generally regarded very highly by our fanbase with many regarding him as the most difficult player to replace if he was unavailable, and expecting him to our next big sale at some point. It's great to see him back on form, long may it continue.
  20. It was the switch to 352 that changed things for us that season. We need to follow a similar approach now, as it would allow us to get both Bilal and Facundo in the team. Daka has to get a run of games, too. With him, Bilal and Facundo up there we will at least have 3 players capable of running and pressing. This absolutely won't happen of course. RVN will die on his 4231 hill.
  21. There's no chance he'll change the system and it will be the same front 3.
  22. Have looked back over our previous seasons in the top flight and there are currently only 2 seasons where our points per game is worse than this season: 1977/78 - 0.64 PPG (converted to 3 points per win) 2000/01 - 0.67 PPG We're currently on 0.68 PPG and it's high likely that will get worse, given the remaining fixtures we have. So, this team might well have the dubious honour of being our worst ever top flight team.
