Looks like another week is slipping by with no attacking reinforcements in the offing. It's certainly too late now for any such signing to be in the squad for the Fulham game. I am resigned to us doing a mad trolley dash on deadline day, hoping to find a last minute gem from the bargain bucket.

I get what you are saying but shouldn't Cooper be building a system that fits/suits the strengths of our best players, rather than a system that doesn't?

Am I the only one who thinks he could be developed into a central striker? He has good pace, excellent off the ball movement, and is composed in front of goal. He also a knack for finding space in the box eg last night when he almost scored with a header with his first touch.

Agree entirely. And yet if the rumours are true, Cooper is intent on adding Ayew to the squad, who, like BdcR, is all about work rate and attiude, as opposed to flair and creativity.

If we are planning to offload Iversen then we might need a GK on loan as well. Otherwise, until Jakub is back, we are an injury to Mads from having Ward starting in the PL again. That is too much of a risk.

First half was embarrassingly bad on and off the pitch (only Facundo and Mads could take much credit). Spurs let us off big time as they should have been out of sight by the time we scored. From the moment we scored, however, we had the better chances, even if they still dominated possession. We need to try to play with urgency and make games a scrap to have a chance of staying up, as the O'Neill team did back in the day. That team were masters of set pieces, though, and that is something we must improve on as you can get so many cheap goals that way, even if you're being outplayed. Look at Everton last season.

Just don't want him end of. One older player like that to is fine but not 2 - and we've already got Reid. We need more flair, not more grunt and effort.

He deserves to start after his excellent form last season. What's Reid done to deserve a start? Didn't score a goal in pre season, unlike Mav.
