Out of interest why does an Arsenal fan care about any of this?
-
Given the news about KDH and Moder tonight, it's like we're being trolled by the media too.
-
Our only hope is that Chelsea gazump Brighton. I assume we're only taking Moder as a makeweight because that's Brighton's take it or leave it offer for KDH and they know we are desperate. What's even worse is that we'll do this deal and still breach PSR again next year anyway.
-
To think we couldn't get anyone to pay a penny for Youri Tielemans with 1 year of his contract left and yet Brighton are getting the equivalent of £10m for this joker.
-
It's a shame that we can't just take the PL's dirty cash for getting promoted and then resign from the PL before the season starts and rejoin the Championship. Having to go through 38 games of being embarrassed week in week out to get the same end result is going to be painful.
-
People saying Moder is a full international so he must be good. He's managed a mighty 1 goal and 0 assists in 15 games for Poland as an attacking midfielder. Genuinely wouldn't have been excited by this signing had we still been in the Championship. Every time you think things can't worse, we get yet another reminder how far we've fallen so quickly.
-
It's actually worse than I thought. No goals or assists in 17 games last season as an 'attacking' midfielder. Wow.
-
Can't think of him doing anything memorable in his time with Brighton.
-
Moder is bang average and never been a regular for them. This deal screams certain relegation
-
Moder is pants let's be honest. We are heading for a Sheff United style season. Imagine 3 years ago that we would lose our best player to Brighton whilst picking up unwanted trash from them in return. We should have asked for cash only.

Do Chelsea do any scouting beyond us and Brighton? Getting ridiculous now.

Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Sunbury Fox replied to Mark's topic in General Football and Sport
That is spot on. Only difference is that unlike Rodgers, Southgate is trying his best; he's just incompetent. -

Sorry, forgot that! Not liking how ultra defensive England players are being in response to the very justified criticism. -

What is the question when the answer is the headless chicken Conor Gallagher? So, we're sticking with no width on the left, a lack of progressive passing from CM and Foden being played out of position. FFS. -

This is all done now. Very disappointing to lose 3 wickets so quickly. -

Who is off to the Hundred? Rishi, Hull, Currie and Rehan? Anyone else? That would still leave us with a decent XI: Budinger Holland Kimber Hill Handscomb Mulder Cox Mike Scriven (hopefully fit) Goldsworthy (unless Somerset recall him) Wright -

Is Kimber injured or have they chosen to move him down the order? Seems odd to have Holland and Goldsworthy batting in the top 4 but then we don't have a lot of depth in the batting department. -
Not sure he will get a move to Barca but I think he wants to leave if he can (based on his recent interview ahead of the Euros) and I think the club would be open to letting him go because, despite everything, he is one of the few current players we could get a decent fee for (he is first choice for a top international team after all). If we can flog him and get Theate on loan with an option to buy that would make a lot of sense financially.
-
Wonder if we are planning to keep the same formation played by Enzo? This guy would certainly fit the hybrid left CB/ left back role perfectly in that formation.
-
As a personality, he seems like the kind of bloke who you want to get behind. He's certainly not a self-serving narcissist like Rodgers or someone clearly using us as a stepping zone like Maresca.

Very good post. I was initially overwhelmingly negative about the appointment but I'm starting to get used to the idea - and what you've said above has helped that process. I'm particularly struck by the bit in bold. Reminds me of what Eddie Howe did when he was sacked at Bournemouth and he's come back much stronger. I can't imagine Newcastle fans being bowled over when Howe was appointed, but now they love him.

Yes, we probably will start spending again, as we seem oblivious to the consequences of breaking PSR rules or whatever they replace them with. The simple fact is that we will get year after year of points deductions and transfer embargoes unless we bring our outgoings down to a sensible level.

The worry is that Hull, Patel and Ahmed will be at Notts next season but I'm going to enjoy them all whilst they are still with us. As for today, not sure what to feel about that result. Should really have won it after Rishi's knock but it feels like we got out of jail by getting a draw with 4 off the last ball. Really need the overseas boys to step it up, though. Can't help feeling that we would be better off with a big hitting specialist batsman and a gun bowler as our overseas players in this format. -

Seems to be tradition now to get battered here by these. Mulder has been very poor so far this season. Need more from our overseas players. -

Surely they should have gone straight to knockout fixtures after the initial group stage? I guess they're dragging the tournament out as much as they can to maximise income but the crowds at the venues in the West Indies have generally been very poor. Feels like people there have either fallen out of love with cricket or are being priced out.
