This weird inverting of CMs is just another example of Enzo overthinking. We have superior players to Millwall all over the pitch. We'd have been better just matching their 442 and letting our players be better than their direct opponent. With a natural back 4 and conventional right back, Millwall don't score the goal tonight and we at least salvage a point despite being sh1te.
-
They just need the same blueprint that QPR and Millwall used. Park the bus, allow us to make pretty patterns without actually shooting or creating anything, and then pounce on the break when one of our players (probably Faes) makes a stupid mistake, probably out of the sheer boredom of continually passing the ball sideways and backwards.
-
He needs to be dropped immediately. We need steady, composed heads at the back, not some lunatic bombing up the pitch leaving huge gaps behind him when we have Ricardo inverting on that side as well. Sick of him now. Coady must start in his place from now on.

Has a team ever conceded so many long range wonder goals in a season in the history of football? Can't be bothered to go back and count them all but it's a lot. I used to think it was unlucky, but now I'm starting to think that we are giving the opposition too many clear shooting opportunities from just outside our box without enough pressure on the ball.
-
We'll get slower and slower with the ball in front of their parked bus before losing 1-0 after Faes loses the ball high up the pitch and Plymouth break into the space left behind to score with their only shot on goal with a 40 yard screamer.

All the hallmarks of a typical defeat under Enzo: Endless possession with no purpose - tick Faes losing the ball high up the pitch leading to a goal - tick Getting caught out with the inverted right back miles out of position on the goal - tick Conceding a worldie from distance - tick Showing no clue how to chase a game after falling behind; throwing loads of people forward to look vulnerable in defence whilst failing to look any more dangerous in attack - tick Millwall's tactics were basically what i see at my local non league club - and that was enough to beat us.

I don't understand why he sometimes inverts Ndidi and KDH. Has it ever worked well as a tactic?
-
Millwall doing all they can to kill this as a game of football and we're just playing with a lack of urgency and purpose. And, Enzo, please can we swap Ndidi and KDH round to their normal sides?

Hard to say that he isn't a good defender as a CB. It is very different playing as a LB, as you're exposed one on one against quick, skilfull wingers in a way that you wouldn't be in the centre. I think many good CBs would find that very hard.

164-5. Didn't get a chance to watch. Under par or an okay score on a tricky deck? -
Hope you are right. But, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, we haven't won on a match day where Leeds or Ipswich have dropped any points, let alone lost, since 10 February! And more astonishingly, we haven't won on a match day where both Leeds and Ipswich have failed to win for over 3 months or, in other words, 16 game days!

Trying to work out who the 8 departures were after the end of last season. Can think of 6 ie Parky, Ackers, Barnes, Alex Evans, Sakande, Griffiths. Are the others Bowley and the reserve wicket keeper whose name evades me? -
This cracked me and my boys up at the time! Hilarious that it has been caught on camera. There is literally at least one mad moment from Faes in every game he plays! In the home game v Boro, I remember him just standing and staring when the board was held up with the added time to be played. He then started arguing with the fourth official that it wasn't enough time, whilst the game went on around him. The bloke is bonkers really. It's funny if we win, but less so if it leads to a mistake and we lose as a result.
-
It's certainly been a long time since that happened! We haven't won on a match day where Leeds or Ipswich have dropped points since 10 February! And more astonishingly, we haven't won on a match day where both Leeds and Ipswich have failed to win since 29 December!

Have a feeling he's going to stick in a long range banger at some point in the remainder of the season. He's got an absolute hammer of a left foot.

Not now but when the news about Everton first broke there was talk of it -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

Given this news, it is hilarious that we were contemplating taking legal action against Everton for breaching PSR when they first got their points deduction. -
Think that's really harsh on Robins. He lost his 2 best players for big money in the summer, players that he picked up very cheaply, and then invested that money very well on bringing in a number of new signings to strengthen the squad overall. With the amount of changes he had to make, it took them a while to come good this season, but I think they've been one of the most impressive teams we've played for sure. Right, I'm off to have a shower having made so many positive comments about Cov!!

Ipswich are playing at 12.30 so if they win they'll be 4 points ahead of us before we play Brum. That would be huge pressure.
-
Hard to see Leeds dropping points. They weren't great tonight but still created 6 big chances. Do that, and generally you will win games. Ipswich, however, have created only 1 big chance across their 2 games over Easter but have won them both. We just have to hope they will revert to the mean at some point over coming weeks. They are definitely beating the stats over and again.
-
Obviously sour grapes but to be fair he's right about Southampton being the better team. Reminded me of our game at Leeds.
-
Looking like the only way we will go up is to win our 7 remaining games. After a really good win today, tonight's 2 results are a real kick in the teeth.
-
It is jammy though. They were totally outplayed for the vast majority of the game - it was 5-0 to Southampton on big chances. Surely Ipswich will revert to the mean at some point. They are constantly winning games against the stats.
-
Just f off, you jammy @#£%s.
-
To be fair he started 8 of their 9 previous internationals, including qualifiers. But the point still holds that Belgium's current defensive options aren't what they were and Faes is just too unreliable and unpredictable to be a top class CB.
