  1. Superb performance. Need to follow it up tomorrow.
  2. Sadly, he'll get even more airtime now, given the media's obsession with the Greedy 6.
  3. From what I saw of Forest under him in the PL, he played a very deep block, protected by a couple of CDMs, and relied on 2 or 3 fast players to hit teams on the counter on the rare occasions they had the ball. In quite a few games they had possession in the low 20s.
  4. Whoever comes in, I hope they pay a lot more attention to our attacking set pieces. Again, last season we were largely woeful in this regard and yet you can get so many cheap goals from corners and free kicks - Everton basically stayed up this season this way, with over 50% of their goals coming from set pieces. Being good at set pieces, coupled with being solid at the back, means you can win games against far superior opposition, who in general play will inevitably dominate. MON's team were another great example of this approach. To be honest, Arsenal showed last season that even the top teams can gain an advantage over competitors by improving their productivity from set pieces.
  5. It's a massive no to Cooper from me. His football in the PL was an abomination.
  6. Let's hope we rinse the scumbags for every penny we can.
  7. Totally agree with all of this.
  8. That won't be enough for their mental owners. I'm pretty certain they're going to hit financial restrictions too as well, bearing in mind they've given 30 players 9 year contracts on huge wages that nobody else will pay, so shifting those will not be easy.
  9. They are way off Man City and Arsenal. The squad is simply not balanced.
  10. Was thinking the same. When Poch was sacked, it never even crossed my mind they'd be interested in Enzo. They seem utterly obsessed with us and Brighton.
  11. They have zero chance of winning the PL next season, and if they they fail to do so he'll be sacked.
  12. 5 years? That's another massive compensation payment they'll be paying out in about 5 months.
  13. The gap between the bottom 6 and the top clubs is going to be bigger than ever next season - Ross County compared to Celtic big. Not a good look for the so called best league in the world.
  14. Just can't see a relatively big name like Potter being interested, sadly. Our budget for the PL is going to be tiny, we're probably going to have to sell our best player(s) in the summer to avoid further PSR penalties in future and we're likely to get a big points deduction next season which will make staying up a real long shot. Best we can hope for is another young up and coming manager looking to make a step up and therefore willing to grab the opportunity even if they know the circumstances will be tough. I'd much rather that than going for tried and failed managers with previous PL experience, like Parker.
  15. Looks like bowling first has backfired again. Only 1 wicket in the session and now Labuschagne is in. Could get messy again.
  16. See we've won the toss and decided to field again!
  17. When all this speculation first broke I thought it was a joke but it really seems that it could be true. Sick of being asset stripped by the vile Chelsea. Not sure it is a great gig for Enzo at all. Yeah, he'll get paid loads but he's unlikely to win anything given the competition and he won't be given more than 5 minutes to build a team. Money could be tighter at Chelsea going forward as well, given that they have made a million signings over the last 2 years and put them all on 9 year contracts. If he is going, I hope it's all sorted quickly and that the club surprises us all and actually has someone good lined up to replace him very soon.
  18. It's a 'yes' from me too. Seems like an excellent tactician who moulds the style of play/ system around the strengths of the players he has at his disposal. Looks to be his at in games management too.
  19. Spot on. If people want to leave Brighton they just them go and wish them luck. No point being held to ransom or forcing people to stay who don't want to. The difference between us and Brighton, however, is that they appear to have succession plans for key employees and we end up thrashing about hopelessly when someone leaves.
  20. Everton should be relegated for that awful "ooooo" chant alone.
  21. This has to be the last exciting last day ever. Only thing outstanding is who gets 5th, 6th and 7th!
  22. 2-0 Man City. All done after 17 minutes.
  23. Why the hell do Millwall need a ground that big??? It will be around a third full most of the time! They'll be the London equivalent of MK Don's.
  24. This season's bottom 3 have comfortably the fewest points between them of any bottom 3 since the PL was established. A combined total of just 66 points is shockingly bad.
