  1. What about the grammar police?
  2. Pretty good I’d say. A lot of things we didn’t have in the Euros, and some positive signs Carsley can take his excellent approach from the U21s to the senior team.
  3. I didn’t realise we’d entered the Far North Queensland Cup
  4. And weren’t the youth teams pretty pants when he was involved with them?
  5. Surely a way to avoid them being poached is to give players like this first team minutes in cup games? Realistically we’re not going to win a cup, so why not give them 15-20 mins here and there.
  6. Haha that made me laugh and is spot on really
  7. Also when those highly paid players turn to shit they become harder to offload. As we have experienced countless times there are few destinations for PL flops. And combine that with when you stall a bit, you get players running their contracts down and becoming less motivated by the minute. All culminating in losing assets for diddly squat. We should have never gone after “established” players. As soon as we did that, and moved away from what Brighton are doing now, we simply couldn’t sustain it. It was a total shambles how it unravelled. I will never ever forgive those responsible.
  8. Sinner isn’t very likeable for me. He’s no Guy Siner in Allo Allo that’s for sure
  9. I went to Accra last year in Ghana and went to a Hearts of Oak game (described as the Liverpool of Ghana). Anyway, I fell in love with their kit that season and bought a couple: They have a knack of producing what I think are unbelievable kits - https://www.footballkitarchive.com/hearts-of-oak-kits/ Has anyone else got any nice shirts from African clubs?
  10. I gave him more slack and for longer than most, but I gave up on him a while ago. He just doesn’t looked arsed and is lazy. Shame because I’m convinced there is a player there.
  11. Kind of funny that Prat is signing for a club with Twerp in its name
  12. One solution instead of the current rules, and as proposed by the likes of Gary Neville, is a more simple solution where owners simply have to put up a bond before any lavish spending spree. So if an owner comes in and wants to spend £500m in a given period they are required to secure that amount or more up front, and it’s held by the authorities.
  13. I was going to say we all know what the next pod will be about! And it’s not about whether Rudkin is a boxers or briefs man.
  14. Also I don’t think the rules were written with this situation in mind. They can’t have been, otherwise they wouldn’t have been written so badly. Who cheats, spends too much and then get relegated… 🙋🏻‍♂️
  15. For all the very good points being made, at this juncture under these circumstances it’s a great outcome. While I acknowledge it shouldn’t overshadow the sheer financial incompetence, similarly I don’t see the point in dwelling on how this hanging over us has impacted recent recruitment. Just as I don’t dwell on wonder what would have happened if Everton had punished when they should have been (we would have stayed up). However, I will completely reverse this position should we not stay up. Interesting how this will impact on the pitch - yes it could give us a boost, but equally it’s just written opposition managers team talk.
  16. Does this mean that we can spend big in Jan, and dish out a few meaty contracts? 🤣
  17. The one downside to this is that we can’t blame/scapegoat the PL if we get relegated this season. I was sort of relying on that…
  18. Hopefully. Massive news and surely a cloud will lift around the whole place and give us a boost on the pitch. Nick is my favourite De Marco since Bepe - you beautiful man!
  19. If they signed him, they’d soon realise it was a scratch as opposed to a sniff!
  20. I take back the negative comments I made as I thought he was excellent. Not sure why people are picking on his distribution, which I thought was very good.
  21. This. I was impressed with him today, after having thought he looked rubbish pre season.
  22. I always wished he played more for us. Really sad he’s gone. What a character he was, and only 39. RIP big Sol.
  23. I agree with a lot that’s been said already. Also I really do not see what Kristiansen adds. His only redeeming feature is that he’s left footed, but you can tell opposition players target him and consequently a lot of moves break down when he has the ball. Today for the first 65 mins we seemed to bypass the midfield, and the long balls were just painful. I guess Cooper’s thinking against the better sides is that the target is to be in the game with 30 mins to go. But I think we can be more positive - we might as well be because against Spurs and Villa it could have easily been 3 down before half time. So let’s have a go - Bilal, Facundo in the middle and Mavididi out it wide - like the final 20 mins today worked well.
