I've seen people saying how "weak" he was here. IMO that isn't weakness because he doesn't actually get physically forced over. He's gone down of his own accord trying to get the ref to blow up for a foul. Imagine doing that in your own penalty box when there's only you between their attacker and the goal. Speaks volumes about the lack of football intelligence in the squad.

Seems like at one point the club was trying to move him on, the problem is he's not good enough for anyone to take him on permanently. Both of his loan spells ended with him being binned off. Which makes turning down a bid for him from Hoffenheim and offering the bloke a new deal even more bizarre. I assume it's PSR-related in the hope that we'll eventually get a fee for him being an academy product.

I watched the highlights again out of curiosity and it was worse than I remember. What the **** is he trying to do? I’m embarrassed for him.

Yup. The FA Cup win and his involvement gets him a lot of good grace with some supporters but the reality is I could probably count the number genuinely stand out games on one hand - and he’s played 84 times for us. He absolutely epitomises the nosedive in standards at the club.

Feels like he keeps getting to the point of being one game away from the sack then brings it back from the brink somehow. It’s happened several times this season. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get a result on Tuesday just to spite us all.
