Everything is a deal with the USA’s self interest front and centre. (And of course his too) his apparent empathy (when it’s offered) is likely just a means to an end But he’s the most powerful man in the world for the next 4 years so we have to deal with that reality and try to make the downsides as limited as possible and any upsides as positive as they can be. I still want to see someone actually call his bluff and stick to their position to see what happens.

Seems dodgy to me £62m for us across 30 pros ? We know we have a fair chunk of players on £4m. Must be higher than that. and Liverpool - £128m? must be way higher than that. if you take the numbers as being reasonable in their relation to each other then villa in 7th place would be a couple of average seasons away from trouble without more deals like they just did for Duran.

He was brought on to take care of Solomon who began to run the sheff u left back ragged back end first half he did that - Solomon did very little second half. But watching Solomon so closely mean that he didn’t see firpo arrive late for the headed equaliser. Shoud, have been picked up by brereton Diaz but wasn’t so hamza needed to spot it. hamza looked better than most players on the sheff u team with his early/first time play of the ball.

Obviously I could cos I watched the game and saw the subs come on no idea who didn’t come on - although Leeds didn’t bring on the tricky small left winger they seem to rotate with gnonto when making the change taking off Solomon.

Watching sheff u v Leeds and both have benches better than ours now !

100% it’s broken we’re also able to exploit it to take the best players from smaller clubs but the very best will get snapped up by the big boys. I’ve already suggested a change - maybe that any kid that has been somewhere for more than four years and leaves before age 18 should have 10% of their subsequent two transfer fees paid to the development club. There needs to be a system where the first club who take such a player should also pay a fee based on a clearer scale which recognises international appearances etc

Having watched a few championship games recently, this team/squad don’t possess the physicality and intensity to do well in that league, they’d need to play a technical system like enzo did last time.

With a year left and on 80k per week, we’ll move him on but for a pittance. I reckon £1.5m at most. Wonder what we turned down for him 18 months ago and again last summer ………
