  1. Turkish lira ??
  2. As Stan said, unless they settle quickly out of court for a much lower amount (very possible imo), this will take quite some time. The owners can only invest so much into the club each season so I can’t see them having another billion quid in the bank making any real difference to us. (Unless it encourages them to sell and take a smaller valuation)
  3. Brighton won’t fail - Tony bloom is a clever bloke and understands his place in the food chain. He’s not scared to sell players at the top of their value and trust his model to find replacements. There often already at the club. He’s happy to finish 7th and get conference league whilst making large profits to slowly pay himself back the hundreds of millions he’s ploughed into the club to build the stadium etc.
  4. this Is a claim by the family against the helicopter manufacturer (not by king power) How is it linked to Leicester city football club as a business? Also, King power is not Lcfc. its nothing to do with club. If the club had taken out a keyman life insurance policy against vichai then they would be able to claim on that and that would be money that would stay inside the club. but that would have been paid out many years ago. (And there’s no indication that such a policy existed - plus flying in helicopters is often not permitted in such a policy)
  5. Trying to save his tattered reputation ….. didn’t want some stuff being publicised. Trying to take the moral high ground
  6. Not any more when he had a twinkle in his eye maybe ….
  7. This is correct shame hoped they’d appoint someone sexy and get relegated
  8. Lowering of standards ? the standards that have disappeared here are precisely those that Dyche would I still again !!! (and they’re the standards that keep you up)
  9. you’d be surprised how many of the youngsters know who he is. and we know that fans in general love an academy prospect, if people think that alves will play and monga might have a cameo then I’m sure a few will decide to come and watch.
  10. crazy that they had a very wet winter and early spring and the lakes/reservoirs were all full. those water stage facilities would have been v useful. also known to leave her used tampax on the bedroom floor for the cleaner to clear away ……… that’s how you judge a person!
  11. If we were a relatively successful PL club then we’d have more chance of hanging onto some of these kids - but we are run like a shoddy market stall and we reaps the rewards ….. this is a surprise though - that he’s not going to liverpool or Chelsea ! I expect he’ll leave for them when he reaches 16 or in the summer when his academic school year has ended. and if he carries on with his development then he’ll probably be used in a CL/ carrabao squad next autumn (if they qualify for Europe) we need to be nicking academy prospects from league 1 and league 2. That’s our place in the food chain. £500 per week sonny and a book of uber vouchers
  12. Bek he chased the first clearance out and pressed - then didn’t get back into our shape so Barkley was free. Didn’t help that our other midfielders all then shifted too far right
  13. The only argument that the board have is that they’ve been unlucky that they broke the rules at a time when everyone assumed the penalty for breaking the rules would just be a fine. everton took the main rap and managed to survive. Forest too to an extent. Then clubs, faced with the points penalty found creative ways around psr. If we had known that point penalties were likely to be administered, we would have sold player(s) after the fa cup win to keep things moving. Rodgers asked that no one was sold that summer and basically that is the call which screwed us up. If we’d sold then we could have recruited better the following summer when rodgers lost his sh#t. the wages are the elephant in the room. That’s where we have no excuses - we couldn’t afford those wages so we should have sold those players who were demanding them. the only differences could be argued to be vards and kasper. And if you’re running a proper business then even that really shouldn’t matter. (although that’s a tough one).
  14. This is already covered in the rvn thread and the answer is yes
  15. We won’t have any choice ric - players we will be buying will be low earners. when we go down the wage drops will kick back in - still a lot of players on wages way too high for the championship despite being cut from their PL levels. A lot of players will have to be sold (given away to take account of their PL wage level ) we will be more likely to get a sale because agents won’t be able to demand their clients contract wage is paid off as part of the deal. With the efl sanctions we won’t be favourites to be promoted so their clients will be on a reduced wage for two seasons at least. it will be a rip it up and start again situation. We should not be selling players this month who are suitable for the championship re their wages. Like souttar and cannon. Seems like we’ll still have hamza. and RVN will also not be sustainable on his wages either. I’d presume he’ll not want to be here in any case. good luck to the commercial dept trying to sell their hospitality at PL prices with that background !
  16. The expense of the ladies team is deducted from the PSR losses.
  17. Doesn’t help to sell an asset for what it’s already in the books for. You get 10m cash in and have to lose 10m from your assets. Chelsea were able to make a lot because what they sold was massively undervalued in their books. we could sell our ladies team based I doubt that has much value against it but we’d have to justify the amount. Chelsea are one of the best women’s teams in the world with players of value. they can make a good case to justify the price. I reckon we probably could have generated 10m profit on a sale of the womens team but no one thought of it and we’d then lose the ability to make a big deduction each season against the running costs of the women’s team. Chelsea have also lost that but the sale cost kicks the can down the road for enough years that they expect psr to not exist by the time it would become a negative for them.
  18. Not seeing any signings they’ve made so far that they won’t be able to sell in the summer for their PSR values if they’re relegated. they also buy young and that helps with resale value And young players don’t usually come with a big wage packet either. Ipswich will have a much lower wage structure than us anyway. The players go there and will take a 30/40k max salary because they are in the PL shop window. They may well have release clauses which helps. we overpay on fees and also on wages, especially for older players
  19. this shows a poor appreciation of how accounting works. Those assets are already in the books at a value. How much have they appreciated ? It’s only worth doing they’re now worth more than they’re already in the books at. Chelsea benefitted because of the large increase of land value etc in London. We won’t be so fortunate. We could maybe argue a few million but that’s pushing it. And the PL will be hot on valuation cos it’s us. and more importantly, unless it was done before June 30 2024, it’s too late for last years numbers anyway.
  20. 100% he will walk if he’s been lied to. He’s way more principled than most. Lopategui walked from wolves and that didn’t stop him getting more gigs. MON walked from villa.
  21. Yep we may have covered their psr commitment but we haven’t picked up more than 50% of his wages on top of that. Still horrendous business
  22. I think Swiss ramble will struggle to predict our wage bill for last season. Some players will have been on a 30% reduction, some won’t.
  23. We didn’t argue that we were a championship club for 22/23. It was that our accounts didn’t close until 3 weeks after we were no longer a PL club so we couldn’t be charged by the PL for a breach at that date. the debate over whether our allowable losses are 83 or 105 million could well be the issue here. The PL will be arguing that we must get to 83m (hence charging us) and we will be arguing that this isn’t correct. Looks like mr de Marco is going to be busy. However, if we’re charged and a commission looks at it and docks us 6 points then it’s going to be v messy whilst we appeal and the legal case for 105 is put forward. The deduction will go onto the league table, even though we’ve appealed. We won’t know where we stand (and neither will clubs above us). The PL will be slaughtered in the media
  24. Unless you had someone running the show who thought it was possible for a club our size to make the big six a big seven. Deluded
