There won’t be any trouble whatsoever at a club event essentially for kids This all seems quite detached from down here in leafy Herts - we tend to keep our scrotes locked up in a small area of the city and they can’t afford to travel out of it. (That’s a joke btw). Even where I work in borehamwood - one of the most deprived parts of the county, there hasn’t been anything at all. Would it be too much of a generalisation to say that the trouble has tended to be where there is either a big reform vote or a large immigrant community. the immigrant communities are not responsible so that must equate to trouble makers being brought into the area. Those areas with a big reform vote are those same areas where there was a large brexit vote. These people complain that they aren’t being listened to - yet the largest political decision of the last 50 years was made by them in 2016. Perhaps they can point us to the sunlit uplands which are a consequence of them being listened to back then ??

Every 20 y o has potential Watford need to sell because if they don’t then they’ll probably only get 10m max next summer when he’s out of contract the agent and player will decide where is best for them and then Watford will have to accept the 12-18m that the buying club will pay. An auction between Rennes and Leicester does not benefit the player/agent so they will make it clear to Watford that they are only happy to sign for one club. The agent will then be able to take his 3m from the deal because Watford aren’t getting it. The player will also get a couple mill s/o added to his salary over the period of his contract. if we really play hardball around a 12-15m fee then it’s possible that Watford just refuse to sell or we have to do a deal with lots of add ons and a sell on clause. We’ve done these in the past. Tough to know the agreed fee when there are plenty of add ons because the total is often reported as the actual fee (and if he goes to Rennes then it may well be that the fee includes the agent’s take which Watford will then pay)

There were some where cars were being vandalised (didn’t have any context as to whether the cars had been driven dangerously ) and also one where a guy was pretty viciously assaulted outside a pub. I didn’t trawl through them all though - these two popped up on my feed. I’m not aware of any damage being done to homes or businesses. I believe (as you do) that there were false rumours put out there regarding an EDL protest. Wonder who out those out ??

I think Britain is to pretty much immediately stop issuing licences for export of anything considered weaponry to Israel. not a surprise. Won’t make much difference because not much heads there from here. but it’s certainly symbolic. It reflects updated legal advice. I would have thought that a ban on licences for ‘offensive weapons’ would have been a better decision. I wonder if we end up in a war, we might find that Israel won’t sell us the most advanced defensive weapons available that we might like to buy …..

I read that article on the beeb website basically their sentence is indeterminate so they are never really free. BUT the examples they showed were people who had been released on parole several times and continued to re offend so taken straight back to jail. There was a mobile phone thief who had been paroled three times and re offended each time so is now unable to get parole. It’s not as if these people are just locked up forever as the headlines might be read.

Did anyone see the ending of the high jump ? Having failed twice at 1.98, why didn’t the Aussie girl put the bar to 2.02 for her third attempt ? If she’d made 2.00 then she would have lost on count back anyway because her opponent cleared 2.00 first attempt.. And she was already assured of silver. As it happens she cleared 2.00 with a couple cms to spare so would have likely cleared 2.02. Both girls then failed to clear above 2.00 seemed v odd to me

I very much doubt the reported price of £25m is going to be anything like correct but it could be that Rennes will pay Watford an inflated fee and Watford will pay all the agents fees cos Rennes can’t
