  1. And the ‘oh god’ at the end 😂
  2. And I reckon that will be irrespective of him taking another job so it’s a guaranteed £5m severance on his departure
  3. It’s one season guaranteed I reckon there is definitely an arrangement in there - over three years that’s them taking in an extra 25/30m newcastles deal with castore was 6.5m. Villa are not a bigger club than them re support. Add on a CL bonus and still can’t see how 11m should be exceeded.
  4. This was leaked either last week or two weeks ago the name hasn’t come out since then so I doubt it will now I did see one social media post referencing someone I’d never heard of
  5. I’m referring to villa’s deal being about 10m too high Liverpool is one of the most profitable deals out there for Nike. They deserve the 30m
  6. Did anyone notice villa’s new deal with adidas is worth £17.5m per season (poss rising to 20 but unlikely to ) for context, Nike pay liverpool £30m I smell something
  7. Just to say that Poch knew he was leaving before the final game it’s very likely that Chelsea had already identified enzo for their shortlist they would have sounded out his agent there would have been discussions re a possible new deal at Lcfc and I’d be surprised if Chelsea’s potential interest hadn’t formed part of that it’s usual for properly run clubs to have a shortlist for a replacement coach (yeah I know )
  8. Forgot about that link last season seem to recall there was something in that too
  9. Pretty sure that we took a legal case against them ref the accounts because we weren’t a PL club at the time so didn’t consider we were subject to their rules at the time the accounts were supposed to be submitted. if we haven’t yet won that I’d expect us to on precedence re the championship accounts rules which we won earlier in the year.
  10. Ortega more likely if Man City prepared to sell
  11. nervous to post anything on this situation but …….. Can’t see how it’s any more abhorrent than what we’ve seen in the region since Oct 6th. when you’re dropping precision guided weapons (even with small warheads), you can’t account for unexpected consequences (as we’ve recently seen). However, If you don’t carry out the strike then there can’t be an unexpected consequence. there is much on both sides which is deplorable. Discussing it will go around in circles - we have a heinous terror organisation who seem to care little about their people in one corner and a democratically elected govt in the other who appear to be mainly motivated as much by political survival as anything else. Or a group of freedom fighters and a facist administration made up of murderous ethnic cleansers committing a genocide. Or perhaps both are merely puppets of ‘the great satan usa’ and Iran who are acting together with Russian/ China interests. this is why we have tended to discuss the macro political situation in the region rather than the micro events. people are generally informed by whatever news channel (or heaven forbid social media) that they view. The micro events are usually too horrendous to discuss without becoming too emotional and sometimes based on shifting sands. (Eg Al ahli hospital) as a species, we’ve been fooked for a long time ………. Bad apples and all that ……. sad because the vast majority of people are very decent and if we all pulled together then there is so much we could achieve.
  12. Nope second breach would be in the efl (assuming we do breach) there is no mechanism for applying an efl breach sanction in the PL the following season could be another breach applied - that becomes complicated if we’re relegated again and the efl have deferred this seasons sanction
  13. Nope they have way better players there already who are fairly recent buys and therefore not likely to be moved on
  14. Watch the kid have a storming euros, leave for Bologna on the agreed option to buy and then us struggle at left back next season …..
  15. Of the championship in 25/26 - yep
  16. Yep - though It doesn’t always work like that contracts vary and managers can do a severance deal but generally, the sacked coach can claim the balance of his contract be paid over its period - clubs usually are spared this outlay because they get a new job
  17. He really wants the job he knows that he hasn’t done his time to get this post a five year deal effectively guarantees him £25m over that period Chelsea don’t want to be committing to more than that - they know it’s a risk They also know he isn’t likely to stay out of work once they sack him so they won’t have to pay that sum out.
  18. Saw that he’s only earning £100k/week he’ll be by far the lowest earning big six coach the length of the deal gives him some security for when he’s discarded and gives Chelsea the ability to increase his remuneration if he performs well. It’s an indicator that they want the project with him to work and it’s long term but it doesn’t commit Chelsea to paying a fortune if/when he gets sacked. clubs v rarely end up paying off a manager’s contract unless they never take a new job. (Unless you’re Lcfc )
  19. If he’s keen to simply coach a squad and not have any other responsibilities then that’s cool but I can’t believe that this will work out. Stuff will happen higher up which affects him and he’ll have little if any input. bit it’s a win win for him take the job If he makes a success of it then he’s set up for the merry go round of elite European coaches will all the top jobs that entails. He’s minted for life and the lives of his kids. if it goes wrong then it’s Chelsea - he’ll get a free pass for another mid table PL club to regain his reputation
  20. It’s an incredibly emotional topic (understandably) from time to time there is a fairly dispassionate discussion on the politics and strategy of the region. If you can remove yourself from the grimness of the war then there is stuff to talk about but I get that it’s tough to do that.
  21. The two games between rodgers and smith
  22. With his Chelsea connection I’d have assumed he would, couldn’t see us appointing an assistant after the mess of the previous season. if enzo goes to Chelsea and doesn’t take Willy with him then that would surprise me
  23. As a rule of thumb, players getting picked like the coach and players not getting picked ….. chelsea have a pretty big squad when the injuries subside - he’s got his work cut out to keep them all onside
  24. This had also occurred to me
