  1. Maybe his agent has just spent two years with an Amazon rainforest tribe ??
  2. Dreadful news about Campbell RIP big man
  3. the three certainties of life Death, taxes and Graham potter turning down the Lcfc job ……
  4. It’s not a tough call for the Aussies firstly they rest as many big players as they can secondly they bowl within themselves to avoid injury and the Scots score what they score thirdly, they bat like England did last night - that could mean they lose all their wickets within ten overs or they score 400! chances are that they win but there is a decent chance that they don’t and they can’t be sanctioned for taking the approach above
  5. What a coincidence Reports that last night Israel took out hezbollah’s second in command at a meeting in s Lebanon. Hezbollah and Hamas are increasingly concerned at having digital conversations because they fear Israel’s ability to ‘listen in’. And face to face meetings are forcing them to emerge from the shadows where they are vulnerable. They don’t have the tunnel infrastructure in s Lebanon that Hamas do in Gaza. Will this assassination force hezbollah to go even further ? They’ve launched over 10k rockets and suicide drones into n Israel since oct 7 and Israel have retaliated. 60k Israelis are displaced from their homes in n Israel. The USA are desperate to prevent a new war front opening in Lebanon. Hezboallah are said to have more than half a million rockets and missiles available to them in Lebanon. of course it’s down to Iran what hezbollah do. I wonder what the quid pro quo will be from the USA to get Iran to force hezbollah not to fall into making it easy for netenyahu to extend the Gaza war into a regional conflict. The daily ‘prodding’ thus far has cost hezbollah several top men (and sadly led to many deaths on both sides of the border). Tens of thousands of Civilians in s Lebanon and n Israel have had to evacuate to safer areas. we need level heads - there don’t seem to be many on show.
  6. Will be a lot of add ons ! apart from that I think that’s very reasonable and it would really pee off the PL and EFL
  7. The only period that labour have been in govt over the past 45 years was when they didn’t seem to have an outlook where wealth was looked upon as being dirty There is nothing fundamentally wrong with being wealthy starmer seems to have realised that to be in govt you need to stop being a party of protest He is fortunate that the tories have set the bar so low !
  8. Sinwar just needs to survive for him to declare a famous victory hence he will continue to delay and deflect until Israel are forced to make a deal. he may not even be under Gaza having left for Sinai through the tunnels some time ago. israel would take a ceasefire if it got back the hostages and Hamas leadership surrendered. But that ain’t gonna happen. Israel are also not publicly behaving in a ‘straight’ fashion because the war cabinet and the Israeli govt are quite different entities. Netenyahu can say one thing to blinken and commit off the record but he can’t state it publicly because it would likely bring down his govt with no agreed deal to show for that. If he gets a good ceasefire deal done then he may have to accept the subsequent collapse of his coalition as the price. He can take that to the people in an election. As I posted a week or two back, the northern border with Lebanon will soon be where it’s at unless Iran pulls Hezbollah back from the abyss. Netenyahu probably needs that war to maintain his premiership so he isn’t going to continue to just play tit for tat indefinitely with rocket salvos fired daily into n Israel and Israeli responses into s Lebanon.
  9. Am I the only person who thinks that 16 y o leaving school after their GCSE’s are over is a waste ? surely they could be doing pre A level courses (for those moving up to sixth form) or undertaking voluntary work in the community a few days each week ??
  10. he isn’t even a ‘very naughty boy’
  11. I’m also getting a bit tired of the right painting starmer as ‘boring’ and ‘robotic’ who cares ? It’s what they do, not what they look like or how they behave in front of the cameras !! delighted that we are going to have a PM who doesn’t have any charisma - he will be judged purely on what he delivers fwiw, I don’t know who I’m voting for on July 4 but I do know who is going to be PM
  12. We aren’t paying that for a winger infact, we aren’t paying that for any player!
  13. This election is breaking the normals a majority of 80 should be v tough to overturn. This is going to be a landslide overturn of the like we’ve rarely seen before (if ever). yes, reform are splitting the Tory vote to a degree but even without them, Labour would be looking at a three figure majority my point is that any party looking at a three figure majority wouldn’t care too much about misleading the electorate in the first five years by bringing things in that we’re not in their manifesto (and probably should have been). They would be v confident about being re elected in five years time. This election is showing that those expectations are no longer valid.
  14. Need 1/5 before I’m interested doesn’t take much to move this market
  15. democracies should have age bar rules on leaders of 80 at the end of their term. hence anyone over 76 cannot stand in the usa. that solves it without anyone calling 'foul' and conspiracy theorising
  16. no reflection on your info seen it on here and on twitter in the past week.
  17. with clubs having to budget and strategise for years ahead, i think you'll find that the 14/6 is to avoid sensitive issues being reversed every season on a straight majority vote. that would be a nightmare to deal with.
  18. that will be the third time in the past week then
  19. The Poch crew will be back out again too 😂
  20. Just on a footballing level, potter would be fairly happy to come here because maresca has done all the spade work in getting the squad thinking and playing in the way potter wants just as de zerbi walked into a Brighton side that was conditioned for him to work with from Day 1 however, the issues in coming here are not footballing ones
  21. Yep we can look forward to a lot of willy waving over the next couple years
  22. a few years ago people would have said this is nonsense but what we’ve seen play out means that you could well be right let’s hope you’re not
  23. He’s obvs not first choice but managers often aren’t there is still time for it to end up with him
