Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21
st albans fox replied to Ryy's topic in Leicester City Forum
I get what you mean I’d say there are kids ahead of him atm that klopp feels are more deserving of an appearance. Surely if they ‘couldn’t afford’ to bring him on then they wouldn’t stick him on the bench. Isn’t fair to other U18. midfielders they have -

Er he’s been on the bench past two games so we assume it has ? -

He was appointed for the final a while ago what happened last week is irrelevant -
Trump is a lot of things but he wouldn’t want his legacy to be the demise of nato and the expansion of Russia a lot of his rhetoric is exactly that

We aren’t winning ten from twelve but we are still finishing top ! -
Ipswich recruited well in January and it’s now showing they had room to spend a bit on loans. They were looking jaded. but they concede too many goals for them to win enough of their remaining games to catch us imo

I never mentioned us. I think we’re irrelevant in the race for second. ‘price comes before a fall’ is a saying. Look it up if you haven’t heard it you’re flying now but there are 12 games left. You won’t win 21 games straight. It doesn’t happen. That’s was all I was saying. How you deal with the draws and defeats will define where you finish. -

Pride comes before a fall two weeks ago, Southampton were unbeaten in 20 games and going to saunter to second place, its a funny old game and your biggest task now is how farke is mentally going to handle the dip when you only win one out of three - it’s coming at some point. it’s football mate. -
Even if they did , Ipswich would get another !

You’ve said it now they were two down to Huddersfield a couple weeks back

Yep - without some context it’s meaningless i mean he’s the king - he could be in a plane crash tomorrow- there has ti be a succession plan from the moment the queen died if they mean he’s getting involved with personal tweaks and detailed plans about his funeral then I guess that could be notable but given that it would be a state affair, you’d want to get all the personal nuances dealt with well ahead of time anyway. susepct it’s a non story

Mavadidi was knackered maresca spotted that Roberts would be getting forwards so decided he needed legs that side - a kid of macateers age should be able to do that -

The problem with var is that people think it’s there to get decisions ‘right’ …….. the authorities need to make a decision on that -

Appreciate that but last year we lacked the quality in the league to win games against decent opposition. We lacked the mentality to win games against poor teams. We lacked intensity and effort. We had enough of that last night to be several goals to the good. I was more concerned with the first half against boro where we looked a bit lethargic and were complacent. Hopefully we’ve had all our bad luck for the season now with the double deflected goals at Ipswich and elland road. I can accept single deflections as not being bad luck. -

We made a couple of v decent chances against one of the worst sides in the league at soton but overall looked stodgy yesterday we made a hatful of better ones against one of the best there is a difference -

You’ve been ‘around a lot of football blocks’ - but not as many as me ! as I posted during the game (after daka’s miss ) that we had screwed up (because you’ve seen it so many times before where a side misses so many chances), I’m also sure that Leeds will not win 8 out of 11 and Southampton will not win 10 out of 13 and ipswich will not win 9 out of 13. that doesn’t mean one of those wouldn’t happen but two out of the three won’t. it’s the reason that you don’t see a poor bookie 96 points will take us up automatically Btw, I think we will win at least 7 of our last 12. -
Apparently not would be grim to lose an important player to injury at this stage of the season to a competition we can’t win. If we’d not lost the last two games then it would be worth a shot at this. But the context has changed. We have to beat qpr next Saturday to avoid putting ourselves under unnecessary presssure, I assume enzo would have liked to play a strong side to gauge us against a mid to lower level PL side. The goalposts have moved now

In a strange way, the realisation that we won’t reach reading’s points total might allow a few people to enjoy the last dozen games Reckon we need another 6 wins which is one win in two which has been the case for a while -

I hear you because his link play was better than we’ve seen for some time. but he’s going to have the pee ripped out him on sm for that miss - I would expect Lcfc fans to be the minority. It was shocking. If it was bamford then we’d do the same -

I dont mean literally - I mean that he can go to the ref and say that he was yards onside and the ref has to check with the lino what he’s seen. we have been so accepting of poor decisions for ages - Rodgers built it into the psyche - you don’t see the best teams doing it,. They make sure that the officials know something isn’t right. -

Did you really think that ? our finishing was poor our defending for the last ten mins was poor apart from a couple of good openings that we allowed them in the first half we dominated the most in form team in the country for 80 mins, pretty much controlling the game in every dept. I’d say that tonight was pretty much the best we’ve played this season until the defensive blunders late on. If we’d played poorly and lost then I’d perhaps be worried. -

Except the lino made the motion that daka had come back from an offside position before looking to be onside. I’m really not sure what he thought he saw what disappoints me is that daka just waves his fingers at the lino rather than getting himself in the refs face and demanding that he asks the lino why he’s given it offside. only daka would know he was onside - the other players would just accept the call. We have lacked nouse across the pitch for years now … -

Pleased that we played so well concerned that we’ve scored 2 from an Xg of about 6 over the past two games but fairly relaxed that we made the ‘best team in the division’ look second rate for most of the game
