To those people saying we can just sell players this June to stay in line, I posted yesterday evening those who were pure profit and would makes sense to sell. To get decent money in thats basically JJ. There’s no one else who will bring in double figures. We must assume that KDH leaving is a given but with the whole world and his wife knowing the hole we’re in we won’t get what he’s worth. Forget bidding wars - they don’t happen. could see both KDH and JJ both having to be sold in June I will assume that we are under the 105m rolling three year loss to June 23 because otherwise surely we would have accelerated Barnes’ transfer to newcastle. With June sales we may well get in under the reduced rolling total of £98m to end June 2024 and avoid an in season sanction next March/april. the efl numbers that bring about their business plan rules being enacted would affect loads of clubs in the championship. We’ve only been highlighted because we argued it didn’t apply to us. Be sure that soton and Leeds were asked (and clearly they complied) so we may well be able to keep the wolf from the door come July (if we do go up). But beyond then , the cupboard is pretty bare re sale income and we will have to do some amazing buying to have a hope of staying up.

I said this a month ago and since then they’ve not stopped winning, irrespective of how many they’re conceding. Proper keegan stuff!

Do wealthy people invest to make money from football? The Americans have been trying but are quickly realising that away from the rich six, there is only pain and losses because of the way it’s run. People will surely only buy in if they have a guarantee that it’s part of a process to take full control at some point at an agreed price. Which is why our drop off in results will be going down like a lead balloon in the boardroom

on the day to day football side that is true BUT king power underpaid for shirt sponsorship for years king power underpaid for the stadium naming rights for years that extra income would have helped putting the money in as share capital (which is allowed up to limits) covers the holes but a v wealthy ownership would have done both and of course stadium development cost which doesn’t affect ffp will bring in additional income. A v wealthy ownership would have bankrolled that some time ago.

Not been watching was the collapse due to our approach to the game or their brilliant bowling ? (Or neither) -
Barnes was 23/24. I think only madders was 22/23 (as was little wes which probably cleared approx £35m profit given he’d only been with us for two seasons ). Those two transfers pushed approx £70m into the income column. We spent approx 50m which is amortised 10m so likely to have pushed around 60m into the plus column. But surely we would have pushed Barnes out of the door pre July aswell if we’d needed to ?? We must have known what we needed to get in before the end of June 2023 to stay onside ?? You wonder if there could be an anomoly at play here. The sanction for breaking the rules is now supposed to be applied in the season following the issue. But we can’t be sanctioned because we aren’t a PL club. Similarly, the efl cannot sanction us until next season when we hopefully won’t be an efl club. surely the PL wouldn’t have messed this up ??

What if Saudi have to admit the the pif is a government body and they are forced to sell their shareholding. those left in charge may not have the funds to maintain the outlay that the Saudis committed to - then the club possibly goes into a debt spiral. that’s effectively what ffp is supposed to prevent - we know what it really prevents

It’s inconceivable that they get away with that excuse i believe that they are basing it on sheff wed some years ago having sold their stadium but the deal not going through till August. However they brought the income into the year ending June 30. However, they had all the paperwork in olace with sums agreed and deal signed. Forest won’t have that from spurs for Johnson

JJ and Ricky have both been here longer than their original contracts it’s interesting that the rumours have now surfaced in the media within a week of our accounts being submitted to the authorities. Clearly there are leaks of some kind. We also dont know how much additional amortisation has been dragged into 22/23 to try and help 23/24. Good point - wonder if we’ve made an agreement in advance with a club at a certain price ?? Otherwise we will get screwed over because the player will decide on one destination to feather his own nest.

This is effectively a statement that ice is cold and water is wet We should have sold another academy product last august to project that we would not break championship ffp. But the club decided that they could push that back to June 2024 before the annual accounts are closed. that would have pretty much been the business plan but the efl would no doubt have argued that this is income on a promise rather than any certainty and wouldn’t suffice. Our arguement is sound - hence we’ve been supported. BUT it does pretty much confirm that we have to get in a big fee for an academy product or player into their second contract in June (or a player with a year or two left on their first contract for a very big fee). that’s not really news either to most of us.

You know that Nadine would love to have been able to do that though MTG just doesn’t give a sh1t - she’s completely doolally.

Well we and Leeds both dropped points in our games at the weekend so not sure why you included them …..

Firstly, kudos for going to Sunderland on a Tuesday night secondly, that’s normal on home programmes where the home club list their 25 man squad and also loads of U21 players that can be elected . The away team is usually just the 25 man squad. using the 4th fewest players reflects the coach’s confidence in them rather than the number available. Perhaps the very technical nature of our approach makes a difference to that but the numbers are there

Of course he was!

Good to have him back but likely will take a few games to lose the rustiness

Beginning to remind me of last season where the other teams fighting relegation looked like their lives depended on it. Intensity and commitment in their play. Meanwhile, we strolled around like we were comfortably mid table with nothing to play for. I appreciate that enzo wants us to be in control of games and that doesn’t necessarily fit in with that. However, at the business end of the season where the opposition either needs the points or views us as a scalp, I fear it will make life very difficult for us unless we manage to start converting our early chances into two goal leads.

We don’t have a small squad we have a coach who only trusts about 15 players The vast majority of this league would give their right arms for our squad depth ….

Can’t wait Two candidates debating with each other and the winner is the one who remembers who he is and who the other fella is …..

Pep has much better players who’ve been playing his formation variations for years. He trusts them to adjust. Hopefully if we get up then enzo can bed in some alternative structures -

He’s drilled them for months to play this way. He obviously doesn’t trust them to play a different formation.
