Donald is of course interesting could be that trump decided he was worth being friendly with given business access rather than anything seedy. Wouldn’t put it past trump not to have used what he knew about Epstein to get stuff he wanted on a commercial level. But without any evidence being released we are left to make up our own minds and anything goes! Has anyone ‘young’ ever made accusations against trump? Evidence is he’s guilty of sexual crimes/unpleasant acts against women but never seen/heard anything to indicate he was attracted to young women.

I wonder how many people are going to lose their careers and reputations based on being friends with a paedophile ? Some will do on the basis of poor judgment once they were aware of accusations (quite rightly). but there will be others who are swept up in the mess. probably should have spoken out earlier. amd some who are guilty of the same crime and deserve everything that’s coming their way

Told you @CosbehFox elliott carver would be cheery

My youngest (14) told me a few days ago that his teacher had told him that there are people now alive who will live to 200. I had to explain that sadly he was only here to make babies. (And to clean up my piss in twenty years). Everything else is waffle. the conversation continued in a philosophical fashion to the point that evolution surely won’t allow us to live that long for a few hundred years yet.

I created an anonymous x account and engaged with as wide a demographic as possible to ensure the algorithms delivered a reflective diet of tweets. Very interesting to get completely free of your echo chamber. Obviously you have to continually appreciate that there are billions of folk out there to get some perspective - but wow. The old adage that ‘it takes all sorts’ has never been truer.

Time out for a ‘pony and trap’ given the turn over in live news atm, we may be onto another subject by the time I’ve finished …….

generalisations based on a some cases which are true Tate is accused of disgusting crimes against women. The inference of equivalence is a stretch
-
Yes those examples popped up quickly also this from a few years earlier “We are all made in the image of God; we are complex human beings,” Kirk said. “Skin color is the most immaterial part of you. That is a sloppy, lazy and, dare I say, divisive way to actually try and say this is the most important way to think about your fellow human beings.” And your last sentence re Tate is a bit of a generalisation at best The videos I’ve seen of his debates contained plenty of stuff I disagree with but his approach to talk things through is something we should value. No one claimed the fella was a saint. Clearly a divisive character. Being a victim of political assassination doesn’t absolve you of unpleasant things you’ve said or believed in. But I don’t believe this was the general discussion on here. It was about the fact he’d been murdered in public for his politics.

Wasn’t aware of this and I will do some digging

of course you do but he debated his stances in a respectful and constructive way. Of course his oratory skills meant rally came out on top but at least people could listen to both viewpoints made respectfully. Discussing things respectfully would make the world a better place - surely that’s not open to debate ?

Had a text discussion with one of my daughters earlier - a year out of uni and your assumptions about her politics are correct. I have a lot of text discussions with her as I try and put forward balancing viewpoints. Mostly I’m accused of not having empathy on a wide range of issues. I can confirm that there was no empathy this morning for mr Kirk from her end.

‘I vehemently oppose what you say but I will absolutely defend your right to say it’ (assuming what you say isn’t inciting violence) this is where we need to get back to and not with screaming and shouting at each other

Might be better off asking to stay where we are and winning division 2 again 😄 -
incidentally, if our Gary can beat ant and dec to the NTA, then farage can absolutely be the next PM ……… single issue politics can deliver a big percentage of votes
-
He was entitled to his opinions. Irrespective of whether you agree with them or not, afaik, he never justified violence re political debate/protests. If more people engaged with each other as he did with those who disagreed with him, the world would be a better place. That’s not to excuse some of his opinions and stances (which I didn’t agree with) but jaw jaw is always better. I wasn’t specifically referencing this murder it’s getting worse Bert sadly there are plenty and many asking why the media has suddenly moved away from their particular issue to discuss this. loads of whataboutery jeez we’re in a dark place

Of course there isn’t but in the modern world, SM delivers a lot of ‘sick’ people to do more than talk on the back of what they’ve read or heard.

I think his point is that the right to bear arms means that innocent people will die. He considered that a price worth paying for the safety aspect he believed that provided plus its free speech connections (which I don’t get). The irony in that is obvious but having seen a few of his videos (I get a very wide algorithmic delivery before you ask) I’d be pretty sure that if you could ask him today at the pearly gates, he wouldn’t change his view.

Charlie Kirk looks to have been shot dead at one of his ‘events’.

With or without farmers ?

Reform are way closer to the tories than the tories would like to admit farage is a protest politician. Just like Corbyn. Farage has to get over this stereotyping.

Doubt it - more to come if they get on it will not be for too long -
His highlight reel v Spain last week was impressive. They absolutely targeted him - I think 12 fouls in the first half! The message will go out not to try and tackle him in the box because his quick feet and shoulder drop are ridiculous.

Still remember shilts v Norwich at filbert st. All in white, sliding out on his back feet first to save with his fists above his head as bowyer was in on goal and fired low and hard in his prime with us, shilton was immense 1 v 1 -
