So do we build massive infrastructure re pipelines to bring water from the north west to the southeast or do we build huge desalination plants for the southeast and pipe the water a shorter distance ??
-
that’s a fair point But it takes you into the arms of the nutters if you extrapolate it ….

If there are any historians left - i think groups/political leanings will have their own versions of history and not accept anything else as being true. (Irrespective of the evidence)

Surely that reflects what the U.K. is actually able to do to affect things ??? I’d say starmer has gone way further than many expected to try and influence things - but he won’t manage to. in the meantime it’s reasonable to have discussions about free speech and what protests are acceptable/unacceptable here????

Is giving daka away considered part of a a ‘fire sale’ ?

If marti wants deadwood players to move on so he can invest some of the income then he’s better served picking them. Players who are left out invariably see their value drop. Of course once we get to the back end of the window that changes.

Context takes precedent over all of that. we don’t want to keep an unhappy player and we could do with the money. However, as the fee drops below 25m the psr input becomes limited and we would be better served in trying to keep him. If the agent is intent on moving the player and the player is ok to stay then I’d say once the RC expires it’s more likely he stays. (If we give a guaranteed commitment that he can leave next summer if we don’t go up). I just don’t see a club paying north of 25m for him. -

Why? the player and his agent will find the club that they want. We have to decide whether we are keeping an unhappy player or taking the best deal we can get. Mads fee has already shown our weakness in the market to clubs. Whilst there is a RC we can say ‘that’s the clause, pay it’. Once it’s gone the only bottom we can effectively enforce is his psr value. If he goes after the weekend then I’d expect a fee around. £22/24m inc add ons our experience in keeping unhappy players isn’t great. They generally don’t try as hard as we need them to. -
It’s complicated and presumably we’ll find out when the court rules whether govt have overstepped. You’d expect this to go all the way to the Supreme Court if they find in favour of the state

I don’t disagree re Hutchison but BEK will be considerably cheaper after Friday his price will drop by at least 5m there will be no bidding war - these no longer exists. Agents and buying clubs arrange a deal. The selling club gets as much as they can within that context. -

Barnes was £35. .? -
Winks was still the tempo player in that game. Ricky is a wonderful player but he isn’t a tempo cdm. I always feel Ricky is at his best coming onto the ball and able to drive forwards with it. coming into midfield as an inverting full back saw him better than when he was already there needing to be aware of what’s around him from a standing start.
-
A Cdm tempo player is a very specific role that players learn over years you can’t just stick someone in there and ask them to do it anyone can just occupy the space and be a cdm - that’s not what winks does. wilf was a cdm - but he couldn’t dictate the tempo of a game.

Can’t see them paying 30m if I were them I’d be saying to rudders ’no one is paying his release c,ause - the kid wants to come here - if you don’t take our £22m now then you’ll end up selling him for perhaps less close to the end of the window - you’ll not keep an unhappy player and you need the dosh’. -

Newcastle interest created by Lcfc to try and force interested clubs to pay the RC pre 15th????? (Apols to @CL Fox - Percy does say it’s 30m) -
We surely haven’t missed this kid for the sake of 4m if we’ve passed on him then it’s for other reasons maybe the kbet sponsorship hole means we don’t have the budget 😉

Hutchinson has English tax applied to him no one has paid 22m for him yet because they are probably thinking we might accept less once the RC has expired and the player makes it clear he wants out. his psr value is lower than 22m. Whilst we expect to make some profit towards psr, it may not work out like that. -
It’s ok - we’ll be able to afford to get BDCR back from the airport on a serious note, we don’t get more than £25m max for him if someone really does want him. I’d have thought anyone would be better waiting until January to see how he goes post injury.

you’ve managed to set the narrative at £30m on the RC it’s been reported as being as low as £22m when we receive 22m, the club will be slaughtered for not getting £30m!
