This is why I asked if it might be more nuanced with certain nationalities more likely to be involved rather than a widespread Muslim thing. (Which I didn’t think it was).

If an sig number of middle aged Muslim men were taking second wives twenty years younger than them then single men in their twenties/thirties would have to be finding partners ten/fifteen years younger than them to compensate. As you say, bringing in wives from overseas would help in this respect.

I have a question that I hope some of you can help enlighten me last weekend after a dads night out me and a mate got an uber back. Our driver was kamal. My mate was quite drunk. we discussed that our wives would not be impressed with our state and he asked the driver if he was married. the response was that he had two wives. This was confusing to my friend. Anyway, he said that his second wife was much younger than his legal wife (which was more fun) and he was thinking of taking a third next year. he said he spent most of his time with his legal wife but a couple of days each week with the younger model! Is this a common thing across the wider Muslim community or isolated to certain nationalities ? And if so, are there large numbers of unattached single Muslim women in their late twenties/early thirties that cater for these second marriages ? if so, surely that would mean a similar number of men are single and unable to find a partner within the community ? or was he just a bullshitter ?

Because of the politics this is where we will end up - how long will that decision take …………… however, the politicians will decide the reach of the enquiry and that will be another massive argument.

I think only a public enquiry is going to satisfy the public concern on this. if labour dont bite the bullet on this then they’re going to suffer badly over it
