  1. Barak had a go in 2000 but by the time the two sides were on the same page, his premiership was clearly close to the end and Arafat judged there was therefore little to be gained from negotiating on Jerusalem’s status against the PLO stated position and risking someone coming looking for him with a loaded gun. As you say, history shows that those brave enough to try and make peace are likely to become targets of the lunatics on the fringes.
  2. Should be 1-1 hemp isn’t the first player to only see the goal when the opportunity arises
  3. You can’t see in that much detail Mac the areas of n Gaza that can be clearly seen through those binoculars hasn’t been inhabited for more than 18 months Some people will go to gawp or in some cases even celebrate but many will go to reflect on their own circumstances- remember that all citizens will serve in the army as reservists or have kids/close family in that position/soon to be. They won’t know where they will be sent ahead of their period of service. like I said in my original post - it’s nuanced. We look at too many things in life as black and white - they’re nearly always shades of grey. (Sometimes of course, very very dark grey).
  4. https://aurdip.org/en/its-the-best-show-in-town-from-the-sderot-promontory-the-breathtaking-and-sinister-view-of-the-gaza-bombing/ I missed the bbc news ‘snapshot/report’ of the sderot viewing point. This article perhaps gives a more nuanced view. there will be right wing arseholes in every population (we have plenty here and they even make the cabinet in some PR govts) but you can’t label everyone as having the same reasons for wanting to look into the ruins of north Gaza.
  5. The only positive about him is that he’s isn’t a big earner His championship salary around 30k but we know he’s saleable so let’s get it done !
  6. Must be a larger release clause you'd expect spurs to have something to say about that ! presumably the player gets more dosh so no reason for him not to sign it. Win - win for him!
  7. I think it’s £27m english and a PL club sale could be a buyback clause with a value already set
  8. 20m isn’t enough but given our position and desperation it’s expected. we could have had 25+ if we’d waited till next summer and done the loan with obligation but everyone knows we need to get money in now. a properly run club would have been putting mads into other clubs and agents minds last autumn when he was performing well. Teams plan for the future - they don’t make knee jerk decisions come the summer window. We needed to be marketing him when his stick was high and we might have got a few clubs interested with maybe an extra 5m. No doubt we weren’t thinking about relegation last autumn - too arrogant for that. West Ham under potter is a good fit for him. No doubt when he took over there they marked mads as a target. otherwise we might be scratching around to get 15m!
  9. No surprise to see Australia competing better than last week they will have drawn some confidence from not being well beaten last week - add in a couple of returning players up front and we have a real game ! if the lions lose any of these tests then Farrelll should be embarrassed
  10. Very presumptive defo moving on
  11. Not easy to play at two weddings on the same day Koln’s opening league game is 24 Aug ours two weeks earlier we look a bit fitter and we should do
  12. Presume the coach won’t be happy to see us giving away cheap possession too much forcing when it’s not on
  13. JJ had his winger behind him - he was caught between the two options
  14. Which could indicate the likelihood of them being involved this season ??? couldn’t have a whole team which is leaving!
  15. Oooh Don’t need to see that again
  16. We have much the better players and yet ….
  17. Don’t seem to be committing forward from midfield to support Russo (although the goal seems to have changed things on that ) maybe if we had then we’d have scored first - but perhaps it reflects the coach didn’t have a lot of trust in her back 4 and defensive midfield
  18. She doesn’t seem to be timing striking the ball her pen reflected that the other evening
  19. Epstein who ?
  20. People’s attention span is so short that if they don’t interrupt and make their repost immediately ……….. er ….. I’ve forgotten what I was going to write …..
  21. The best golfers will usually cope with varied and unusual conditions my (uninformed) view would be that when the wind doesn’t blow, the more average US golfers will be more likely to make the top 10 than when it does
  22. Can’t see us getting a sell on unless we agree to 20m. We are in a weak position and everyone knows. The charade the club has embarked upon by pretending everything is fine and dandy won’t wash with buying clubs. And if we dig our heels in then we’ll just end up being screwed over by psr. we need to get a deal or two across the line before we start negotiating on mads and other valuable assets so we can then bluff. Trying to do it without having moved anyone on is pathetic.
  23. Good negotiating tactic to offer the loan with obligation as the starting point. Makes no difference to them on their accounts if the cost of the loan is 20% of the amortised value. However, it makes a massive difference to us and they know it. so they’ll offer a few million less to do the deal now and tell us choose between the two options.
  24. Is it my imagination or do recent opens suffer from a lack of a windy day or two ?? that will favour the Americans (or at least it favours the locals less)
