  1. No, do you recommend them?
  2. Hannah Arendt argues that the distinction between truth and lie can be eroded, over time, by "continual lying." When political leaders, institutions, the press, and respected figures habitually and continually state alternative facts, their lies—even if they are neither intended to be believed nor are believed—attack the very foundations of what Arendt calls the common world. "The result of a consistent and total substitution of lies for factual truth is not that the lies will now be accepted as truth, and the truth be defamed as lies, but that the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world—and the category of truth vs. falsehood is among the mental means to this end—is being destroyed."

  12. I'd like to point out that the 'Hillary was unpopular' line is nonsense - she won her election by 3,000,000 votes.
  13. or James...

  17. I suspect she wasn't 100% fit.
  18. 52 clean winners is ridiculous.
  19. What's going on in France is what I suspect a grown up Labour would do with the LibDems if necessary - especially given that the latter have figured out how to win a decent amount of seats, and the electorate have caught on to tactical voting.
  20. Must be maddening to play someone playing out of their mind like this.
  21. Sadly, this view will be shared by many, and it's precisely what those behind the destruction of democracy want us to believe.
  22. I think most people would sympathise with this.
