I would'nt be sheding any tears over Cooper. He simply wasn't up to the job. He'll get a chance somewhere else with a wad of our cash in his pocket, While we've lost out on a whole season now.
-
I guess he could bring in him as an assistant seeing as he'd know everyone in the league and would be a good British Ear to lean on while he gets up to speed himself.
-
Nepotism comes to mind. Seriously I don't care once they are good. And Holland has produced some of the best players in world football going back to the 80s. So they must have a lot of good Coaches.
-
Yes definitely he was. Would have been a good addition for player wellfare too. He's a psychologist of some sort now I believe.
-
So there is hope that we've ;earned from our mistakes and are getting back on track. A great addition if we can get the right person.
-
Of cousre he's guilty of player trading. He signed the players he brought in who were mostly crapp. Giving out too generous Contracts is down to the Club. Contracts shouls always be incentive based. We've had trouble moving players on because they mainly haven't been good enough and secondly the Contracts have been too generous. Financial Management has nothing to do with Scouting, Though good Scouting is what can quickly improves the finances in Football Clubs. Maguire, Fofana Mahrez etc. That's why It's crucial to have the right people doing that job. They also have to work with the Manager to find the players he wants to fill positions in the Team. They can also just sign players to improve and sell on at a profit. Liverpool have been doing it for years. Chelsea also. We have the facilities in place now we should be using them more to maximise our return on Seagrave secondary to the first team. Brighton just copied what Pearson was doing but have perfected it even better. Why ? Simply because they have the right people in the right places within the Club Structure. Aside from the first team manager. So as when he goes nothing else changes. When Pearson left we allowed others to dismantle most of what he built, Which is why we're in the mess we're in today. Let's just hope Ruud brings a new more modern agenda to the Club. He must have learned a lot working and playing for some of the best Managers and Coaches of his day.
-
You could add Keane and Rooney to that list.
-
I totally agree, What draws me to Ruud is he's not doing it for the money. That's a rare quality to find in someone who has already made a fortune, Yet still wants to test themselves at the Top of the Game. Holland has puched above it's weight for a long time. That's down to the players they produce and the Coaches who produce them. He could be a dream signing as Manager and the evidence supports that I'd say.

They are all a risk. Look at how much Utd and Chelsea have waisted on so called top Mangers. And yet Enzo has Chelsea sitting 3 presently. Another thing I've learned in life the older you get you lose some of the enthusiam for the job. Sven, Mourinho and others. What youger Manger tend to bring is enthusiam and committment while they're learning. like Arteta and others. It's always a gamble, but it has to be a well researched and record led gamble.
-
I totally agree, But it's a good place to start. Enzo is a great Coach and now proving a great Manager. Pearson an average Coach but a great Manager. Funnily most of the great Managers have come from modest backrounds. lower league careers or even no previous football career like some.
-
True, but he had about 40 new players to pick from and it was a late run that saved them. We know what happened here. He failed miserably.
-
Yes true he did get the England job when they were looking for a Yes man. And look how it turned out still waiting for success.
-
At underage, Not at any higher level. Carsley has been coaching senior players for a long time. I think but for the lose to Greece he may well have got the top England job.
-
Surely the answer is a bigger release Clause in the Contract would help. Though a lot of it has to do with how the Club support the Manager. That can be a difficult balancing act if they dont talk regularly.
-
Yes also true, But we're in need of some high level of Skill like Facundo. Ut'd have plenty of top talent just waiting for a chance. Remember Pearson bringing in Drinkwaterwater and Matty James.
-
Carsley has a much better pedigree than some names mentioned. Improved every team he worked for, So clearly a good Coach. A winner with the England under 21s which is what got him the Senior job albeit tempory. Again qualified as top of the group. Clearly looking for a chance to show what he can do.
-
Ruud would also be in a great position for loaning a few of the UTD academy players.
-
Pearson as DOF would be a brilliant appointment. He knows the club well but more importantly he has a proven record of building Clubs from the ground up. Has the contacts within the game to work through finding the right people to fill the right jobs as we continue to move forward. Lets get it sone.
-
Sad to lose anothe Leicester legend. RIP.
-
I wasn't aware of him until I read a little about him. He seems to be a top Coach and very young also at 29 yrs. He may be a bit early and too left field in this appointment as we have to get it right. But cerainly looks like a future top Manager in the making.
-
Or you make the release clause so high to put Clubs off. If he really wants the job he'll take it. He's a risk but I think it's one worth taking given the prestige he'd bring to the Club. He's been Coaching for 10 years now and worked with some of the best, So he must have learned a lot. Imagine him and Vardy Coaching the young Strikers coming through.

Everyone has their own favourites but looking back as far as 1960 this is my list. 1. Pearson I'd put Pearson first because he was the catalyst for everything good that came after the takeover. Even though I don't think he himself would have won the league with the same squad. Also because of the great escape I thought we were so unlucky to be in that position that season. We hit the Woodwork 11 times that season I think. 2 Ranieri He was a bit of loveable Charlatan. He had the good sense to realise what he had inherited and just needed to nourish it by his cajoling methods of the Players and talking down our success. 3 Enzo Because he's the greatest Coach I've seen in my 50 years in the game. Plus he delivered what he was asked to do. Win Promotion. 4 O Neill He brought in some great talent during his stay which won a few trophies and his passion for the game. He gave Fans belief. 5. Rogers First 2 years great, With a Cup win most thought we'd never see after losing the 69 Final when we were favourites and lost. But a Narcissistic Mercenary at heart. 6. Gillies In the 60s Gillies signed some great players and managed to take us to two FA Cup Finals. Something I'd never witnessed before. 7. Puel Who I thought got a raw deal from the Club but did bring in some real talent. 8. Armfield A charming old school Manager who knew his Football. 9. Little Done a decent job while here, leaving aside he jumped ship to join Villa. 10. Kelly Who I thought done a decent job at a very difficult time. Saving us from relegation to league one. And had us mid table with no money to spend before being sacked. The most disappointing were Taylor who wasted a fortune and Bassett who I thought would do better after his heroics at Wimbledon.
-
I just could'nt take his Bullshit drivel with no passion or emotion for the game.
-
He 's a poor imitation of Enzo. He proved that at Chelsea. Look at the job Enzo has done here in such a short time and then repeated it at Chelsea. He's an elite Coach who will take Chelsea back to the top.
-
If Southgate comes here I'm finished. I would'nt tolerate that incompetent Clown.
