  1. Ben Dawson is taking training until someone is appointed.
  2. It seems the chat before hand and the meeting with the players after the game convinced Top to act.
  3. But not with the same level of experience. Carsley was a decent player and an International player. He won the under 21s European title in his first season and done ok with the Senior appointment. He strikes me as a possible great manager like most of the best managers who never quite reached the top as a player. Ruud could be a risk. Does he come in with the Keane attitude, I'm it and your shit or does he reset himself mentalily in that he has to prove himself all over again.
  4. Why so, He has a proven pedigree of working and developing young players and has done ok with the England job. He'd cost less than others and would come with no baggage.
  5. I said VK wasn't good enough when we signed him but many on here thought I didn't know waht I was talking about. However, I'd say he's the one player I'll attribute to Cooper improving somewhat this season. Bad as it is I feel the defense will improve as a new structure is employed by the new Manager. But we do need new signings.
  6. That's quite easy to understand. After winning the Cup they believed Rogers knew what he was doing. It's the time old problem of do you back the Manager or not. After turning around our fortunes and winning the Cup they decided to back him. They allowed him to spend 200 million on mostly poor players. That's a receipe for disaster for Clubs our size. It's reasonable for the Club to assume Rogers would bring in more quality after his early success and convinced the Club things would work out ok. Of course we know it didn't. Clubs are damned if they do and damned if they don't support the manager. Rogers screwed us over big time, I would'nt blame the club in anyway for that.
  7. Some reports suggesting we'll have an appointment before Brentford. I just hope we dont rush it and take the time to get the right Man. My choice would be Carsley or Ruud. I think they would both bring the energy neccessary to the job. Cooper is more of a slow burner. Give him time and he'll get it right. But we don't really have a lot of time. We need results and quickly, a couple before January would help. Then a few out and 1 or 2 in in January would help. Things are looking up lets enjoy the recovery.
  8. I feel sorry for the Club because they were blindsided by Enzo's departure to Chelsea. With the season 2 weeks away they were paniced into appointing someone. Cooper was never near the right appointment. Now I hope they either have somone lined up to take over or take there time to make the right appointment. Even if that means placing somone of the senior players temporily in charge. People like Vardy, Coady, Vesty have been around long enough to know whats required. The most important thing now is to get the Appointment right.
  9. We've got to get back to preventing Goals As clean sheets make points. It's going to be difficult, But it is a winnable game if we're properly up for it. Mads Coady Vesty Okoli VK NDiddi Facundo Skipp El Kanousse Vardy Mavadidi
  10. I understand the thinking, But you have to get the quality right also. I'm think of the like of Huth, Evans, Cottee, Ferdinand, etc. proven quality. Out of this years signings above Ayew and Reid are the only 2 with real prem experience. Buonanotte has real qualities but again we should have agreed a purchase price if we wanted to buy him. ( Maybe they tried. ) Skipp is only starting out on his career but we paid way too much for him. Eduardo could be an Asset but I feel he gave up on the game years ago and is only in it for the money. We should send him back. I've said it before the right Manager is where you first spend the money, Get that right and everything else slowly falls into place. We really do need someone who knows players and the game at the Top, Otherwise we'll fiddle around for years hoping to get lucky.
  11. What's also difficult to understand with the history of Defending the Italians have, How he so poor with the basics. I still can't understand how he's an International either. The Italain league standard must have really dropped of a cliff. However we're stuck with him and I feel he can get better.
  12. So I'll put it another way. What does he excel at. ?
  13. Top certainly does'nt know how to run a Club. But it's unfair to compare him to Vichai. Vichai owned KP. He could click his fingers and things happened. Things changed dramaticly after the accident. Top is Chairman though answerable to the Board. A Board that have little connection or interest in Football other than supporting Vichai's wishes. The mistake Top made was trusting Rogers too much which started our decline because the Board rightly cut off the money with the poor signings he made. He got his replacement right in appointing Enzo, Sadly he was poached from us and Cooper was a last minute panic choice. Now we're back to rock bottom and need someone to guide us in the right direction. Who better than the likes of Pearson, even in a consultancy role in helping choosing the next team to take us forward again. The next appointment is crucial otherwise we could be set back for a decade.
  14. He would'nt be good enough for some on here.
  15. Well, He was a great player. Can he carry that over into Management which brings a totally different pressure. Many great players have tried and failed. He certainly has worked for and with some of the Best managers inclding Fergie. The question is do we get in a proven mamger or take a chance on Ruud. He's probably worth the risk.
  16. He's strong and tough He should be able to learn a lot from Coady and Vesty. Today he was caught facing his own goal when the Ball came in for the Goal. That should'nt happen really but it's his lack of experience. The big problem is we're losing games while players learn on the job.
  17. Khanouss I thought offered the most but was too often left with no support. Mads was a good as always. Soumare done ok yet for such a big man doesn't offer more in winning the Ball back. VK is continuing to improve. Faes and Okoli werea train wreck all day. McAteer needs to do more but he got our only real shot on goal during play. Vardy was too well marked to be effective. Ayew made a difference when he came on down the right. It's nice to see Daka back playing regardless of what we think of him. He didn't do anything wrong. The rest were average to poor.
  18. He was very lucky today. He should have been off for that tackle. It could have been a season ending tackle. He covered a lot of ground today though without being very effective. His shot on Goal was embarrassing. We've seen it so many times before in front of Goal.
  19. Exactly this. We had that crown with Pearsons and Walsh choosing signings. Why would'nt you try to get them or others back who know what they are doing.
  20. His demeanour on the touchline shows like he knows it's coming.
  21. I understand that noone gets it right all of the time but we've been pretty poor on signings since Puel left. I just wonder who is making the choices and where is the thinking in plugging the weaknesses and building for the future.
  22. That, We both totally agree. Honestly, I hate it when we go and waste a serious amount of money on someone who just hasn't shown us anything yet. At least with Facundo and El Kanoussi you can see they're have Skill and are improving with game time. We haven't seen that from Skipp yet anyway.
  23. Sorry but I disagree. What has he done for us that he has excelled at. He cant defend other than putting a foot in. He cant carry the ball without losing possession. He's not strong enough in challenges and not as good as Winks in possession. So what does he excel at. I know he's young and can improve but I'm just cant see what he brings for 25 million.
  24. Yes I do, I coached a few of them in my time.
  25. If you know the game what has he done of note in any game he's played for us. Even Cooper has given up on him and we know how little he knows. He loses possession too often offers nothing going forward and isn't strong enough in defense. So what does he bring to the Team. ?
