If this is an indication of next weeks team... we are fuched!
-
Here is a better question, do you think John Rudkin cares?
-
Surely this highlights how bad things are within King Power. You would think they would just sponsor us again. Unless, they can't actually afford it..
-
From what I have read, his work rate and pressing is very good.
-
Ndidi won't be here by the end of the window and I'm hoping Soumare won't be either.
-
100% slightly weaken one position but (in theory) greatly strengthen one ore two more.
-
I can see that argument but I also think we NEED goals from midfield and i think it's fair to demand that from a seasoned pro on good money, but I don't think it's fair to demand it from a 16 year old in his first ever season in men's football. The likes of Louis Page should be given his chance to prove himself but putting the pressure of being reliant on him performing for an entire season is unfair.
-
24 goal involvements last season. The 22/23 season when they were in the championship it was 17 goal involvements. 19/20 he spent half the season on loan in the CH and got 7. The 2 or 3 seasons before that, he's pretty consistently getting 10. Questions can certainly be asked at a higher level but certainly at THIS level, he gets and creates goals.
-
We NEED creativity in the middle of that park regardless of those 4 being here or not...
-
Which is a double edged sword. We were all for it when it meant selling players we didn't really want or need to sell and getting the likes of £80m for Harry Mcguire but it's also a nightmare when we can't shift the likes of Booby Soumare!
-
17 G/A in 22/23 (last time they were in the Championship before last season) too...
-
Not only do I think he's a good player at this level but I think he fits the system Marti plays extremely well. He's also a captain so I would assume has some sort of leadership. Ndidi and soumare being replaced with this lad would definitely improve us on the pitch, I just hope we don't risk stability off the pitch to get it, and we all know that, that is a very real possibility.
-
...and if those outgoings fall through?
-
I've heard £4m all the way up to £7.5 but you've got to understand what £5m would mean to Motherwell. They simply CAN'T afford to turn that down unless they are absolutely certain someone will beat that offer. £5m and a sell on would get him.
-
It would take reported just under £10m to secure Richard Kone and Lennon Miller. Both fit our system and see a return to buying young and cheap.
-
For £5m we should be all over this. Natural finisher who presses well and works hard. Young and room to improve with more than enough room to make a good profit.
-
Well, not only that but we play roughly the same shape as an Enzo team and the striker roles in both systems are quite similar. So if he wants to groom him as a starting #9 in his primary system, we would be a logical choice.

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

I 100% agree. Words aren't enough. They need to back them up and they haven't done in the past that but the fact that they aren't even pretending to care anymore definitely feels worse. -

Just off the top of my head, I remember Arteta last season claiming they needed a new striker. I also remember Ten Hag stating they wanted to sign a striker, a CM and a CB a couple of years ago. Arsenal and Man Utd aren't "serious professional football clubs?" I was, however, referring more to the assurance that something IS happening in the background and the club ARE actively trying to improve. What have KP given us to ease our fears after 2 relegations, 2 PSR battles and 2 terrible seasons in 3 years with no-one being held in any way responsible? Nothing, not a thing. I would settle for a "don't worry guys, we got this" with a thumbs up emoji at this point. They don't need to outline in great detail their vision for our future, just acknowledge that they have one because I'm not convinced that they do. -

Look at that, a club keeping fans informed and updated without giving much away.... When Kingpower are criticised for their lack of communication with fans, the same people always defend them with "what do you want them to say?" THIS. This is the sort of thing we want them to say. -
I didn't actually know this. Surely he's well worth a shout at LB in Marti's system given he's can play with both feet AND likes to get forward.
-
He has been out on loan the entire time Marti was there. It would be interesting to know how much say he had on him going to Orient in the summer.
-
Charlie Kelman to Charlton for £3.5m. I have to say, I'd have been tempted to take a chance on him for that. Great numbers last year in leagie 1 and still relatively young at 23.
-
I don't agree with this observation in the slightest. Yes, he bursts out a trick or two but no where near what you would call an over reliance on it. In fact, I would argue. He could probably look to have a bit more confidence and do it more to beat his man on the outside but he is far more likely to either play the pass to the byline for the player on the underlay or cut inside and look for the pass. We've seen this time and again during pre-season and it results in him contributing heavily to the teams attacking play as a whole and not just from an individual stand point. You say he has nothing to fall back on yet I probably wouldn't even list his skills in his top 3 attributes. His strength, his workrate and decision making are all far more impressive. I agree that fans need to temper their expectation of him and let him develop but your observation of him as a player is low-key bizarre IMO.
