James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)
Scotch replied to SouthStandUpperTier's topic in Transfer Talk
True, but how many of those options have played more gametime in those positions then these two over pre season? Ricardo and Thomas sure. VK has been injured so we can't really count him but I reckon Marti fancies these two over most of those options at the FB positions. -

Marti has spoken a few times about a small squad. If that's what he is going for, players like JJ and Hamza will be key. Small squads don't really work without some players that can cover several positions. -
Can't wait for our chairman's notes in the programme tomorrow urging us all to get behind the team and stating how dedicated he is to getting us back in the PL after an entire summer of silence.
-
...or as Robert Huth would say, "yes no"
-
Surely we don't need a winger unless someone leaves....
-
Looks like a decent player and I could see him doing well here but for £25m, I would sell all day long.
-
Brunt too.
-
Post it, I want to see.
-
Would that be the one we're the first 40 seconds are him celebrating and walking around in slow motion?
-
It's probably because the lad is 22 and when he was 19, he was playing at the homeless world cup. I mean, it is a bit of a gamble considering most players these days grow up in youth academies.
-
Ummm.... a fair few of the sh!te we have in our squad we're signed whilst Congerton was here. Daka, Soumare, Vestergard. Justin is the only other one signed during his time that is still here. Congerton was sh!t.

Not gonna lie, I can't get Hull on the opening day of 16/17 out of my mind. When they fielded a squad of like 13 senior players against us as champions and beat us.
-
I mean, it's short by at least 5 to 7 million but it is what it is and with the Coady and Ndidi money, we are close to about £30m that we have brought in. Add to that, their wages along side Vardy/Iversen and Wards wages, we are at the very least £40m better off. No idea how close that will get us to being FFP compliant but it's definitely closer than we were.

About 340 miles. 6hr drive. Which is exactly why I don't make many games.
-
Yeah, that price is miles off. Rangers have reportedly had a bid of around 3.5m accepted.
-
He's kipping on Harry Winks' sofa.
-
I'm not suggesting you go sign us someone. You've given you're opinion that you don't think thos lad is good enough so I'm asking your opinion on who is...
-
Like who?
-
Easy. Marti's system. Cifuentes plays with CB's far further forward and not only that but they are often required to cover for the FBs when they move into the CM position and we are caught on the break. Vestergaard is no where near mobile or fast enough to do either of these things. We need a CB who is faster and more mobile.
-
If we ARE going for a left sided CB, I would much rather hijack Rangers' bid for this guy. Exactly the same type of profile but younger, stronger, bigger, faster and probably better on the ball but would cost half as much.
-
That Nobel Mendy lad that Rangers are looking at signing looks some players. If we are indeed seriously looking at Callum Doyle, I would much prefer we hijack this deal. He's bigger, faster, younger, would cost half the price and some of those passes out of defence are majestic. https://youtu.be/Kdt18kHh0T4?si=OYd6fQtp-2VURwdU

I wouldn't write off Celtic. They could afford the £5m, give him £20k a week, trophies and CL football for 1 or 2 seasons and then he could make his way to the PL. We need to get this done before their CL qualifying games.

Besiktas confirm they are close to signing Wilfred Ndidi

I'm telling you now, if Richard Kone goes to Celtic and we spend the same amount on Paddy Bamford, I'm burning this place to the ground. -
So... one of the positive things about our club right now is something that our club has absolutely nothing to do with. That sounds about right.
-
This is my fear. He will have a great 6 months and we will offer him a new contract only for him to be sh!t again for the next 3 years.
