They're expected to take at least a week ...

Everything is agreed. All that we need to do now is wait until someone more appealing comes along and makes a bid and he goes there instead. We're not allowed to complete the deal until this happens.

I bet he would still track back better than Soumare....

Lol I put those exact 3 in mine a week ago ready for this game. Hoping I regret that too. -
Can you imagine how different things would have turned out for us if we'd had this attitude to transfers back in 2012? I know we started off wrong with the transfer policy when Sven came in but we'd learnt by the time Pearson arrived. "Is this striker from Fleetwood really worth a million??? Let's wait it out. Weigh up to see if he's really worth it. Oh, someone else has signed him. Never mind. Tell Walsh to stop wasting his time looking at the lower French leagues, you'll never uncover any gems there. He needs to be scouting players who are over 30 only. We want experience with no sell on value whatsoever. We need a striker as back up for Nugent. I wonder if we can loan Marlon King for a season?"
-
Can't believe some people on here still think we'll make any more signings this window. Yes we've still got a couple of weeks to go, but it takes us longer than that to even begin the process of signing someone. Maybe a rushed in keeper for the U21s on deadline day ... nothing more.

This isn't the Pleat years. I remember the chants and the unhappiness back then, and that felt more raw. Nor is this the Taylor or Bassett years which both always leave a bitter taste in my mouth for obvious reasons.... It's not 2007. We've not been cast aside for Bolton by Megson only a month into his reign before Holloway takes us down to the third tier. It doesn't feel as bad as it did back then, those times really hurt, but then the feeling, particularly against Taylor didn't start preseason ... the guy was caretaker manager for England for taking us top of the league initially. In fact even Holloway won his first game. These bad feelings followed some positivity to begin with. We've not had that since Cooper started ... I'm hopeful this will be the polar opposite. Bad feelings turning good, rather than good ones turning sour, but the team we have, the lacklustre preseason with baffling tactics and ignored personal like Pereira, the lack of inspiring signings, (especially after selling KDH), the general feeling of being let down by the senior figures for season after season of late, the list goes on and on, and none of it fills me with any confidence. I'll always support the team, and back the manager until he's proven himself unworthy of the support, and Cooper hasn't managed us for a competitive game yet, but that doesn't make me feel optimistic. I worry about our lack of creativity, I can't see where goals come from on a regular basis. And I feel like our defence is the worst in the league, I pray I'm proven wrong. I hope for a miracle against Spurs, but think a realistic test of the season won't come until a little time after this game. -

We could have done with Son, Solanke, Maddison, Sarr and a few others doing the same thing to be honest. Mind you I worry our team presently would lose to Spur's reserve team... -
Assume he still will. But whether that's to the UK now is another thing. Shame as we know he can perform in the Premier league. While Ayew may be uninspiring I think he'll do his fair share of linking up the midfield and attack which we need. Zaha though can be a game charger even if he might sometimes blow hot and cold. We need a few game changers to help us grind out results as every point is going to matter this season.

Surely on his wages? I don't think there is a double tax ruling between UK and Turkey so assume he'd face a higher rate of taxation on his earnings...
-
I normally try to be optimistic. But looking at the fixture list I cant see our first win coming until after 26th May ....
-
That defense still worries me a lot.

Our very own Harry Kane!

Fanbase in general or just some of the posters on FT?
-
It seems worse than that even at times. I'm anticipating no more outfield players in, and another goalkeeper on deadline day just to keep the others company...
-
You don't need to have a good record in the Premier league to realise you play your best players to have the best chance of winning a match. It's not like playing him unbalances the team.
-
I'll have whatever you're having!
-
Shocked at the number of people leaving Mavididi out of their starting 11 ... and the number who think we'll be signing Ioannidis in time to start ...
-
Whatever your son did I'm sure it wasn't bad enough for this punishment.

If we can see it, surely Cooper can too, and surely the players are thinking "it worked better last season when we pressed in greater number?" It sounds like simple fixes, but ones we must make BEFORE the season starts in a few days.
-
Really not a fan of the idea of selling Pereira. Should be one of the first names on the team sheet, can only assume Cooper has been looking at alternatives if Ricky gets injured, or isnt 100% fit right now, as he'd give us a bit of that creativity we've been lacking.
