  1. Which isn't that much use to us as free kicks and corners are like goal kicks for the opposition.
  2. See my post below. He was hideous as a striker too and got moved out wide.
  3. I'm extremely confused because it would be Premier League suicide to play Jordan Ayew as a striker. If you do so you sacrifice any notion of scoring goals. It's why he was moved our wide many years ago. Even then you need to ensure there's a steady ability to score goals elsewhere because that's not his game. As you say he is good at winning free kicks and being difficult to get the ball off. My issue with thst role though is where does he fit in? We've signed Reid to be the experienced steady right or left winger. We need a striker who scores goals. We also need another attacking midfielder and I thought that would be a player that's comfortable playing off the left like Bounonanotte is off the right and then we're covered either side in the attacking midfield, inverted winger system. He just doesn't really fit in here and certainly not on a 3 year deal at the fee being quoted. It's rhe closest I've come to crying in quite some time and I've had a pretty torrid year all things considered.
  4. Daka's been fairly poor but you do realise he has a far better goals and assists record in the PL than Ayew in minutes/games played?
  5. I meant Kalimuendo
  6. I quite like him.
  7. Not surprised Barnsley would be in for him, their Sporting Director is Mladen Sormaz.
  8. It does but I just find it strange that he has been the one that's got to bide his time. He's arguably our best player.
  9. Also the decade of being the most successful club in the midlands, we've played the long game. Now we must be brave and promote these academy players. I get the fear we lose more Nyoni's but if there's a clear path in to the 1st team earlier and we pay them we'll (which we wpuld) then they'll likely stick around.
  10. Monga is outrageous. Evans on now too, superb.
  11. Doubt it. We'll have Skipp available so that's him even further down the pecking order.
  12. He seems to be with the U21s on match days? Saw him at Barwell and on Friday. What's he doing with them?
  13. Cooper was all about the players getting minutes in pre-season, even if they had to play out of position, yet the only player that's not done so nor gone back to the U21s to get them is Alves.
  14. It's an art to get loan moves lined up, a loans managers key skill. Built on networking and reputation. I read time and time again the likes of Maswanhise didn't go on loan because they didn't have any suitors. Yet they easily find permanent moves and some of them do very well.
  15. Jake Evans in the squad tonight vs Burton.
  16. In a counter attacking football team I can see him being a decent impact sub. He loses the ball a lot but that's less critical when you aren't exposing yourselves in a high line against teams in a low block. I'd keep him around until at least January anyway.
  17. Watching in the stands. Will be interesting to see if he plays for the U21s tonight.
  18. He is not on small wages and there's interest from Saudi League. We aren't getting him on the cheap if we sign him.
  19. What Marc failed to also say is we have been absolutely heinous in pre-season so this is not a glowing endorsement.
  20. Would cost us though wouldn't he. We only have 1 loan left from the PL.
  21. Ibrahim Maza who we were linked with a while back, he's under the same agency as Cooper and has started the season strongly. 2 goals in 3 games.
  22. His mate Serge Aurier is available
