  1. At least we've condemned Spurs to the Europa Conference League
  2. Spurs showing their defensive frailty tonight. However, we know how good they can be going forward. Just need to have a real go from the start; fast start, not fast last 15 mins. when we need a goal.
  3. BR saying we were too slow at passing and need to play forward more. That's been a common theme he's stuck by in recent weeks and I agree with him. Too many times the ball goes back to the centre-backs and we start to slowly build again with telegraphed passes, or instead of flying down the wing, the wing-backs stop and check and knock a sideways ball inside. We can all see it. BR keeps saying it, so who's at fault? Is he not clear enough with his messages; not firm enough? As a player I'd prefer to go forward. It's the natural thing to do in a competitive game, where you can see the opponent's goal. So why isn't it happening? Are we too obsessed with losing possession. Explain?
  4. There's no point if we put out weakened sides; may as well not take part in it. Now we've won the cup, I'd like to see us prioritise the Europa League over the FA Cup if required.
  5. Pity we didn't show the effort and fight throughout that we did in the last ten. As for Chilwell, gets up, nothing wrong with him. Pathetic. Being honest though that performance isn't Champions League. We can't hope to hang on in games and not create anything. Hurry up and come back Barnes. Can't help reflecting back at other games; Fulham, Leeds, Newcastle. We'd have been home and hosed. Maddison didn't look happy coming off but what does he expect? I'd have kept him on over Perez, but he can't complain. Just not happening for him. Anyhow we won the FA Cup on Saturday. Can't be down.
  6. Barnes is the outlet we are missing though. Perez and Maddison providing no outlet.
  7. We can't play the second half with nine men. A mystery how we are level. Perez / Maddison / both need to come off. We need to compete in the midfield. They are a yard quicker as well.
  8. Not getting down about the Liverpool win. It doesn't change anything for me, other than it gives them more momentum. If they'd drawn, we'd still have needed to draw the last two, or win one, assuming they'd go on to win their last two.
  9. Yes same. I'm slowly making peace with the footballing gods. It's complete enough for me at club level now; way beyond my expectations. A European trophy would obviously be the icing but I can live without that. Just one piece left for me to see.....a World Cup. Was alive in '66 but too young......
  10. Brilliant as the goal, and overall play from Youri was, he doesn't get in my top three today:- Schmeichel Thomas (said he wasn't ready for this level the other week - made me eat my words today) Best player - Fofana!
  11. YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Sandwiched between league games with us playing last Tuesday and Chelsea Wednesday, and then both teams having to play on Tuesday again is disgraceful for the showpiece final.
  13. Feeling everything; scared, proud, emotional, hopeful. Just want the clock to get round now. Between now and kick-off is just a state of suspension where I'm not really functioning properly and can't set my mind to do anything. Look out of window, look at phone, drink coffee (which will turn to beer at some point), repeat.
  14. So many FA Cup memories starting in the mid-seventies with the series of replays against Arsenal before they did us; Chris Kelly and Leatherhead. At 2-0 down I'd never been as gutted; Harlow Town, the fastest ten minutes from time I can recall, when they scored their winner; the Burton bottle; Shrewsbury and the string of keepers; Ian Wilson's delightful chip, (wrong end). I've dreamt of this for sooooo long. Bring it home boys.
  15. Yes I rather fear you did.
  16. Think our PB club might have just gained a few more members. This season could be the cruelest of the cruel
  17. Yes. Liverpool beating Man U. would be bad. Deflates our players ahead of the final, and gives Liverpool real momentum. Thursday crucial for me.
  18. Yes when you put it like that; us. Thanks. One good thing; I'm not worried about anyone else, just Liverpool.
  19. Brilliant win tonight. Still not a convincing performance, but nevertheless a brilliant win. However, (and I'm a pessimistic ****ard most of the time) I'm still really worried. Someone please tell me it's my natural pessimism, but I'm concerned about the "nearly there" comments from fans and pundits. I still think there's loads to do. I think Liverpool will get something on Thursday, may be a point, and I think they win their last three games. So...67 points. I think we'll draw with Chelsea, and Spurs usually spank us. So...67 points. Liverpool do us on goal difference
  20. Is Yohan Benalouane still on the books? Just a thought.
  21. The entire team has forgotten how to run. No-one is prepared to run at defenders and take them on. It's walking pace. Stop. Pass sideways. Had enough of it.
  22. Bring on those magical Europa League nights. At least when we play our weakened side, there might not be too many of this eleven playing.
  23. Playing Thomas last few games was, admittedly not today.
  24. Where do you start with that? We can't break their defence down; no high press on their keeper, but they do that to us; too slow; passing not accurate; passes putting our own players under pressure; so many poor game play decisions; look knackered; they're quicker to the ball; they're quicker in the tackle.........and so on. Can't see us winning another game this season.
