Well we are virtually full strength. I'd play Barnes if he was fit at the expense of.....someone, (comes down to systems), so got to get a win tonight. If we can't beat a poor Newcastle side, then no point qualifying to play Europe's elite. COME ON!!

I think Liverpool are the danger. I see them winning their last four games, regardless of the Man U result. They've no distractions either. -

I must be out of date as well; I thought 4th had to play a couple of rounds beforehand, albeit weaker opposition? -

So we'd be allowed five teams in CL? -

What happens if Chelsea finish fifth and win the Champions League, and Arsenal win the Europa League; would even third place not be good enough? -
Because no-one is prepared to run with the ball at defences in the way Messi and Barnes do. We all know it frightens defences to death. The one to do it was Perez, but on too late. Persisted with high balls into the box that Southampton largely won, or low shots into the box that were just blocked off. Needed direct running at them instead of playing across the box. Maddison looked crocked. Tielemans/Kel not prepared to run at their defence. Thomas not good enough yet for this level and shouldn't start. Barnes plays and we win that, so we need to replace the effect Barnes has....run at them!

He's a defender. He shouldn't be performing that role.

West Ham vs LCFC - Sunday 11th April - Sky Sports

Albrighton made a massive difference. Compare his performance as an attacking threat to Ricardo...... Ah well, 3-2 feels like a kick in the stomach instead of a kick in the balls. -

Observations 1) Rogers said we didn't need a striker in Jan; Lingard was presumably available..... 2) Ricardo and Castagne nowhere near as effective as they used to be as attacking threats. Not sure what's happened there. 3) Offside rule interesting where the person who scores is way offside. Not something I've considered much before, but surely if the ultimate scorer is ahead of any defender and gains an advantage in terms of yards, and the defender is unable to catch them.....? 4) Where's Maddison? -
Yes if we'd beaten them you'd be worried for the cup final, (assuming we both get there); there's no way we'd have beaten Man. City three times in a row. So...... we're gonna win the cup.....we're gonna........etc.

Generally you'd expect more from a side in third place than that. We defended quite well, but I can't remember seeing Chelsea or Man U. dominated like that by Man. City. Not sure if we still show them too much respect, (notwithstanding the 2-5). Anyway draw a line under and move on. On our day we should beat West Ham, so let's do that. Hopefully some other results involving the chasing pack go in our favour as well.

Yes it certainly does. Just watched it back again. Decent Spurs side. Terrible pitch at Villa Park for a semi-final. Amazing to see Alan Young go off injured after being clattered in the first half, then Tommy Williams stretchered off, and having to play last fifteen with ten men. Crazy days!

Yes it's a far cry from some earlier years. I started following Leicester in 1974. We were okay, but after Jimmy Bloomfield, when Frank McLintock took over, that one year was probably the worst for me, (even than going down to League 1). We were so poor. McLintock bought a bunch of ageing players he'd played with etc. beforehand such as David Webb. I think we went down with 26 points. I remember one smart arse commentator saying that because people were saying it so often, we'd changed our name by deed poll to Leicester City Nil. When you list out what you have it's impressive, and I thought we'd never better the O'Neill years.

Just didn't want it to end. Superb stuff; could easily have been 10. Nice confidence booster ahead of the cup game. -

The one thing I'd like to see is Ricky taking on the left-back. Pre injury he would have done, but he seems to prefer to stop and check back. Other than that all good. Maybe Albrighton for either Ricky or Castagne second half. -
I find the constant apologising tedious. There's no crowd so we're going to hear the players, who are full of passion. As an example, it's completely different to a guest coming on the One Show and suddenly swearing. In that scenario, yes apologise.

My bad.

Well played Schmeichel; some top drawer saves. Well done Albrighton; made a difference. Well done Rodgers for changing things. BR take note; Woody back from injury and plays the full game; none of this last twenty mins. nonsense.

Wow that was a tough watch. Time to blood some young flare, if we have any. Thinking about recording the second half and watching it on fast forward, so it appears at full speed. Really fed up of the sideways play at the back. In contrast Pope throws the ball out and sets up attacks. Nobody has broken into a run at all. Stop, look round, and start the process of getting it back to Schmeichel. Don't want to be too negative because of the injuries, but are we up for this? They looked more switched on. Also when will we win a header at either end; not bothered about scoring, just want to win a header? Be glad when it's over. -
Interviewer speaking to BR said eight players currently out injured. I'm not sure if he was including Big Wes, or indeed if Big Wes is injured. Little Wes Perez Praet Maddison Justin Barnes Evans (Big Wes) Who's the other one or will it be Big Wes?
-
No. Chelsea and Liverpool will replace us and West Ham, and normal service will be resumed.

Yes mass brawl.

That might be a myth. Tell me one player that had a price tag of £x in January and went for £y in July.
