Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?
SB87_LCFC replied to Happy Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Will Still - finished 11th in Ligue 1 with Reims, don’t think the compensation package would be too costly and given our current financial predicament (apparently) it may just work. young, hungry, wants to manage in England, would be a good fit imo. I think we need to look at a long term plan, we’ve chucked stupid money at managers and look how that worked out. -
We have to be positive, two strikers against Brighton, with Madders in the 10, he drifts inside to try get us going no point playing him out wide. Considering the wide right issue, I’ve gone slightly different. Iversen Castagne. Faes. Evans. Justin Soumare Praet. KDH Madders. Vardy. Kels Danny Ward doesn’t look confident, why not give the lad Iversen a chance. Faes has to start, love Wilf but we need to see this lad play and after last night hard to ignore Soumare. Big Tielemans fan but I think we need to see Praet play with a diamond, both he and KDH can push out if we needed them to and this gives us two up top with Madders in his natural position People slating Vardy perhaps need to look at the stats, he has had an average of 1 shot every game and only one of those was on target, we have been getting into the final third and lacked that final touch but can’t pin it all on one bloke. Yes he’s our main man, but strikers need service, if he scored every chance we had he’d be Erling Haaland. As fans we need to back the team. Im going for a 2-1 win and a much needed boost

Given the lateness of movement In Faes (£15m) Harit (loan with option) Boga (loan with option) Alban Lafont (£20m) Todibo (loan with option) Out Youri (£20m) Cags (£15m) Fofana (£70m) Praet (loan) Hirst (loan) Perez (free) Quite underwhelming but realistic at the same time, Lafont is an achievable move, Faes is pretty much done and so is Harit by all accounts. I think we have to have a sense of realism as fans here, yes we should be identifying better players but we don’t have the finance to do so, offset some money, stick with what we have plus additions, then go again in January.

Don't think I have ever seen him tackle, or compete for headers. Man City knew they'd done well for £25m!
-
Dean Sturridge Steve Howey Jamie Lawrence Yuki Abe - who I believe told Shinji to join us Stan the Man Collymore John Curtis Jordan Stewart Moreno - Portuguese CDM signed by Paolo Sousa
-
Can't blame poor league positioning on signing Slimani and Silva, yes you'd expect more for your investment but that's a separate entity to what this threads about.

What are you wanting me to explain exactly? At the start of this year we were featured in the top 20 richest clubs in Europe, 7th wealthiest English side and we reported profit of £92.5m in March, £70m of which was Champions League money for making the quarter finals the previous season. Add to that the fact we have just had planning permission accepted for a new £100m training ground, possible extension of the stadium by another 10,000 seats, suggests to me we arent dealing in Monopoly money here! Of the 20 teams in the Premier League, only having the 'big 6' above us, it would suggest to me we have more money than most?
-
Very true, but in my eyes we need to show ambition and be signing the types of players that can push us up the league and to where all of us fans want us to be. Frustrating when newspapers release articles that basically make us look like a selling club when we have more money than most!
-
No I do agree tbf, maybe its blind loyalty to my club that I think the lad is going to stay.
-
I think Ben's a level headed sort of lad and will see that playing consistently for us is better than playing every 2-3 games for Man City to cement his place further in the England team - despite the lure of Champions League football and working with Guardiola. £50m seems to be the average fee papers throw about these days for players, I wouldn't be even batting an eye if I was Top or Puel.

Past his best at 26? Jesus, Wes Morgan should have been put out to pasture years ago! 34 appearances since going back to Dortmund in 2016 due to Myopathy doesn't fill you with confidence admittedly, but even to have a slight interest all things considered wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe he needs to rethink about his career, a move to England could work, admittedly I think there is more chance Klopp taking him but id still be interested

Surely for the quoted £40m we could pick up somebody else? Personally never really seen the hype around Grealish, although flashes of quality in the play off final last weekend did catch my eye. Surely with Villa apparently needing to cut back we could get the deal done cheaper? Possibly offer a make weight player? Ulloa? Amartey on loan?
-
This would be a class signing, however if he’s surplus at United I can see him going back to Spain sadly. Another name I’m hearing who may be available is Kurt Zouma, surely a loan deal here would be a good bit of business? He can’t be too picky about where he goes as he went to Stoke last season! ? Shaqiri on his day is class but his attitude stinks, you can see the arrogance ooze out of him. Sisto could be a good shout haven’t Vigo gone down? Maybe Kasper can have a word at the World Cup.

If we got Amin Younes fit he’d be one hell of a signing. Young, hungry, fits the bill of what we need, especially with a certain somebody off to Man City. Meyer will end up at Bayern like the rest of the up and coming Germans and get loaned out somewhere else for the season in the Bundesliga, which is a shame really as he’s quite the player. Back up keeper is something we do need, read this morning Huddersfield are after Ben Hamer so Joel could be a good replacement

i may Sound a little crazy saying this, but if we’re gonna play with the big boys at the top end I think we’ve gotta be looking at players like John Stones and Luke Shaw in a similar way to Barkley and Drinkwater they are English talent sitting and wasting away at some of the bigger prem clubs. They have a chance to move somewhere like Leicester to play consistent football and be a part of something that could be really big.....I seem to remember when Man City started throwing their money about people’s eyebrows were raised at the signings of Yaya and David Silva (different players all together to the two I’ve said I know) but effectively could be cornerstones (see what I did lol) of a new look City. Were not short of a few quid anyway, £128m from finishing 9th, plus whatever we have left from Champions League last year, plus player sales (Ulloa, Slimani, Musa, eventually Mahrez) with those two and a playmaker I think we’d be much improved especially with Pereira in already.
-
Usual social media crap! It’s all because the Mahrez big move isn’t happening so the press and these gobshites on Twitter think oooo lets give them something to talk about. If there was any truth in it, I am pretty sure JV would have his cards very close to his chest and his Mrs wouldn’t be saying a word on social media. He isn’t deluded like a lot of footballers, Leicester and everybody in it - owners, managers, coaches, team mates, fans have all been a part of his story and the journey to become the player he is.....personally don’t see how he would turn his back on the club who has given him everything, it isn’t as if we’re fighting relegation. Move on....just another way for idiots like that IndyKalia to get attention

Martin Waghorn named Scottish Championship player of the month, has 14 goals so far. Perhaps found his level?

Met Liam from One Direction at Universal Studios the year I got married in Florida on the first day. Also met Wrestler Jeff Hardy and various other wrestlers on the same night. Saw a lot of the ex-city lads like Walshy, Matty Elliott and Marsh when at games the year we won the Championship among the Prawn Sandwich Brigade. Met Peter Schmeichel outside the KP after a game - clearly didnt want to stop for pictures but got mobbed! Walshy and Muzzy came into my old work to get prices for kit and equipment when they started to set up one of their soccer academies. Had a visit once from GTF to buy kit for his lads side. Used to see Julian Joachim in the bookies up Netherhall most weekends as well.

Im sure I read somewhere that this poor chap passed away in a car accident last year?

Hi Everyone, Been a City fan my whole life, grew up in the O'Neill era, used to love Neil Lennon and Heskey as a kid. Best memory of being a city fan was during my first holiday to Florida at 15, 5 of us went to watch Leicester vs Leeds in a pub full of Leeds fans, that famous day Nalis scored 'That' volley, needless to say the pub cleared very quickly! Looking forward to our 2nd season in the prem, Saturday was a great start and long may it continue. i think it is amazing how many fans we have living in different parts of the world! think it is a great credit to our club!
