Totally agree with this! Accountability goes a long way - something the manager doesn't do!
-
The writing is on the wall unfortunately, summed up by the lack of celebration when we scored - All hope is lost on this manager! We have a group who have no leadership, senior players clearly have given up caring because their points are clearly not being listened to by Vern Troyer's Spanish twin. To me, these lot are turning up just to be paid their wages and have a kick about. Why on earth we had Ben Nelson at LB last night when they played with a square of 4 CM's behind Moore last night and we had Hamza at RB - Why did we not just match them up? basic tactics - we go to a 3 at the back and pin Wrexham's midfield back pushing JJ in with BDR to match up with James and Sheaf. Ayew is horrific, fell over at what would have been a definite goalscoring opportunity and could barely keep up with play throughout the game - feels like he has to take set pieces to feel important. At this stage I'd be starting Monga on the left and play Mavididi through the middle, be direct, play on the counter and use pace with a front 3 of Monga - Mavididi - Fatawu

Development/Youth Squads 2025/2026 Thread - U18/U21

Anyone else think Darren Motsi might be around the first team before the seasons out? Seagrave seems to be delivering for us at the moment so we need to capitalize -
Wrexham fans fancy their chances to get something from the game according to their fans forum.....blind optimism? or a near on certainty? Sadly it looks like we've gone back to being unpredictable Leicester, for me the result all depends on the team selection, one thing is for certain it will be physical, so I don't think it's the type of game where we can be carrying anyone. I'd be inclined to consider JJ in the 10, start Hamza in his natural position with Skipp as your two CDMs. Aluko in for Thomas and drop Ayew for Daka and try and play on the counter. Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of much in the way of rotation but I think dropping Thomas, Reid and Ayew wouldn't be a bad shout.

Italians played with the dark arts for years, its about time we started using our head and managing games better - especially when in other areas (fitness/ability) we are clearly lacking
-
I heard he asked for it when he signed
-
I have noticed Ricardo's positioning in the last few games is quite narrow, is this a managerial choice? He was literally playing as a 3rd CB when Karlan Grant scored for WBA the other week at the KP - Ricardo has always been fairly good positionally. We had all the momentum going into half time, we needed a second before the break to ease the nerves, were a team starved of confidence at the minute, which comes from a multitude of things in my opinion, not just the managers lack of stature and these so called ''senior players'' throwing their dummies out. It does make for a grim watch, but as the old saying goes.....keep the faith

I get everyone is a little concerned about the possibility of signing this guy based on one season, but do we forget our greatest ever player came from non-league for £1m and how old was he when he started to produce the goods? Were in no position to be demanding big money signings when were where we are in the league and in the financial situation we are in. We haven't even paid our non-playing staff properly since last summer! If he comes in and gets 7-8 goals before the end of the season, he's made more of an impact than the three waste of spaces we've had this season.
-
Could be totally off the mark here with this shout, but would anyone take Troy Parrott? 19 goals in 24 games this season. Surely he isn't going to break the bank?
-
Dont think Piroe does anything for us in the current team and style. I actually think you will see Daka actually try more so he can try get a move in January, apparently he is one who has asked to leave this month from what I've been told - that's no use to us we want someone wanting to play for the shirt.
-
Spoke volumes that he had his arse handed to him within 5 minutes of his debut away at Hull. I dont think he ever recovered.
-
Danny Ward Wout Faes Connor Coady Luis Hernandez - so bad he went home after 6 months! Junior Lewis Lee Marshall Alan Maybury Alan Rogers Mark De Vries Ayew Akinbiyi

Wout to Monaco (loan with ~€8m option, official)

Agree that some of these players would be better suited abroad, VK is proof with his stint at Bologna 2 years ago. Soumare has ligue 1 written all over him, its just getting someone to take a punt -
Totally agree, his goalscoring record this season surely should be enough, hes older than Monga and Evans so for me he has to come into the equation now.
-
Either way off the pay bill will help
-
Owynn Palmer-Atkin posted Cifuentes has said in an interview at least 3 senior players have asked to leave the club this window, assuming that's Winks Faes Vestergaard It's ok them wanting to leave, but they have to lower their expectations on what they're going to get paid. The fact Faes is going to Monaco and we are paying some of his wages is laughable. Also read that both Manchester clubs and allegedly Real are looking at Lorenz Hutchinson and want to try and get him before he's 18.
-
Think they might be scorned from the time they signed Praet!

He's been off since he got here, only took 4 managers to realize it........absolute garbage! -
Reyes Cleary - I know this may be a long shot and Blackburn are sniffing but not sure if him being midlands born (Brum) might be a pull for him and by Christ do we need a striker! Jaden and Regan Heskey are also looking to make the next step in their development - I read one of the two is available on a free loan for the rest of the season. I know someone's already mentioned Harry Amass, would be a great move for us if we could, but he may prefer Watford though as that's where United took him from so he knows the club. As for free agents, you've got the likes of Dele, The Ox and now JLingz available which doesn't fit our blueprint at all - despite me saying take a chance on the former two in the summer. This may be out of left field, but I read Arthur Masuaku may be looking to leave Sunderland for game time? Established and experienced left back, may be a good loan option if we could free up some cash? I think we'd all pretty much copy and paste the departure list in here so I am going to save myself the bother, we all know which ones need to go - and quick!

We play football like a low-end la liga side. Passive, no desire, players strolling about like it’s a training game. No wonder there were empty seats at the game yesterday. We can argue we have dead wood in the squad, but look at the reality, who is going to pay sizeable money for someone like Daka, Soumare or Faes. The painful reality is we have to wait until the end of this season to clear out the high earning low performing ones, but then still we have the likes of Skipp and VK on the books. Surely there are some free agents out there who can add something? There has been no clear vision at the club since Rodgers left, I’ve said it before on posts on her, the management selections, the transfer business, hand on heart can anyone say anyone other than Abdul has been good business in the last 4 seasons? makes me wonder why Susan Whelan left but the clown is still around. The board have to act and now! Marti has been brought in on the cheap, because once again, the idiot who’s been robbing a living as our DOF has cocked up yet again, why are we coming down and looking to a manager with a 34% win ratio at QPR, finishing 18th and 15th in his two seasons in charge, is that where we see ourselves? If that’s the case we should be telling KP to sell up as they have no desire to take us further.

The on-going issues of the club continue to be apparent and are not going to change any time soon. None of us deserve to see what we see at the minute. I asked myself after the Portsmouth game, have we been spoilt for the last 10 years? Have we over-achieved so much so that we are blinded that in the history of the Premier League we are either a mid-table masterclass who get a cup run or a yo-yo team who can’t sustain league status. We never seem to be anything other than that historically, other than arguably the greatest ever footballing story, or the tenure under Brendan Rodgers winning the FA Cup and Community Shield. Rodgers departure was the beginning of the end for me, questionable handling of players and bad results were apparent, but I think if we looked deeper, his retaliations at his ‘reliable’ players, were bore out of frustration at the lack of being able to elevate the team with signings of an adequate level in the league. Instead he has to go to another route, meaning he’s signing dross on high wages, before departing. We’ve all said Rudkin is at the heart of the issues, his inability to negotiate the two highest transfer fees the club has received for Maguire and Fofana highlight his inadequacy to do his job. He nearly ballsed up the Mahrez deal as well all because he wanted Patrick Roberts. The current manager, is out of his depth, although this isn’t entirely his fault. Reservations were there at the beginning, we all of a sudden were pro Cifuentes because he was willing to pay to come here, not being funny, who wouldn’t? Best training facilities in England and possibly one of the best in Europe, on paper some of the best players in the league, but the issues run deep and he definitely bit off more than he could chew. Yes we made £50m+ this summer, but that was to ensure PSR was kept quiet, we’ve still got 5-6 players on high wages in the final year of their contracts who are doing absolutely nothing to justify their salaries. We’re not even in a position to terminate a deal with 12 months to run, ideally not the best case scenario for any team as that’s bad business, but what’s worse? Lose a few million or drop down the leagues? We have no Plan A or a plan B. The current situation is to my eyes - pass it about as much as we can, give it to Abdul, see what he can do. Plan B is throw Ayew on so he can take every set piece (badly) have more touches than anyone else and then sulk when it doesn’t go his way. This is not good enough by any stretch! Unfortunately Marti has no support, senior players clearly don’t back him and there seems to be more problems than we know. Kingy looked fed up on Saturday night when he was pictured on the touchline as Jordan James came off, I think even he can see how bad it’s getting. Sadly, I think 2 more bad results and he’s gone. The worst part of it is, we’re probably going to end up with Russell Martin!

Surely another £10m in the bank, how many more £10m sales before we can actually do anything? -
Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)
SB87_LCFC replied to jonny_wright's topic in Transfer Talk
Never understood why BR signed him in the first place when we already had Soyuncu who was a revelation following Maguires departure to Utd. Clearly politics from BR’s POV which ultimately saw Cags wind down his contract and if we’re not careful it’ll happen with Sideshow Bob as well. £10m at this stage of things would represent good business, although, whoever engineered Kasey’s sale might wanna be involved in that as £12m upfront is good business. Is the moving on of all these players a sign of the times? I think we us fans need to be realistic that we are not going to be anywhere near where we want to be come May because once again poor judgement and mismanagement at the highest level have cost us dearly with their inability to sustain the team and be able to bring in the right players for the right money. In the last 3 seasons we’ve made £80m in sales of academy players, plus larger sums for Maddison and Hermansen and are still in the muck…….🫣 -
Kasey McAteer (gone to Ipswich, official. 12m.)
SB87_LCFC replied to moore_94's topic in Transfer Talk
Looking at this, can only see the bid being in the region of £5m, £6m at best....sign of the times sadly but wish him well if he does go -
Any word on this at all?
