So let’s say we sold the below for roughly this sort of money; Castagne £15m Praet £5-7m Ndidi £15-18m Soumare £10m Nacho £30m Barnes £40-45m top line is £125m, before we’ve even looked at wages. So in some weird paradox Maddison could be a championship player! 🤣 Also reading the Newcastle fan pages online, they are saying they’re moving on from Maddison as it seems to be too much hassle to convince him to join and it’s more likely he will be a Spurs player 😂😂. There are players out there we could pick up for modest money, on loan or possibly even for free - Coady at £5-8m imo is a steal, I wouldn’t discount Harry Winks at less than £10m, Tom Davies is free, the Tanaka lad looks good as well. It’s all ifs, buts and maybes, to be honest in my head Maddison is gone, but I just think Leicester will think of Leicester and Maddison will just have to do what the rest did and be patient, Mahrez got his move, Maguire got his, Fofana got his, but we made sure we got our money.

I don’t think we’re as low on funds as we are all possibly thinking, wage bill has decreased massively following the relegation and players walking away for free. Plus the sales of low end players to come will free up money in both transfer fees and wages. Add to that we bring in Maresca which will be on a lower pay check than the experienced managers. Madders will go but for upwards of £50m for a current international, it is the minimum we should expect, when a less productive Havertz is moving for the price he is I do think it’s possible. So we run the risk of losing him for free if we play hard ball, we could see him here until at least January and we pick up £30-35m and still make a profit on the fee we paid, with possibly the team in a position where an Instant return to the premier league is in sight. If that was the case I wouldn’t be too fussed what we got for him.

Fair comment, in an ideal scenario im sure we all want him to play for us, I’m sure the club has pursued all possible avenues.

Could a loan move away with a deferred wage/bonus if we got promoted be good for both parties? I have a theory. The is a guy who openly loves the club, but has had awful luck with injuries in the last few years. As many I’m sure agree he’s been one shining light for us when fit and was seen as one of the best right backs in the league (if not the best along side TAA). He hasn’t necessarily said he wants to go, but part of me thinks he wouldn’t fancy the championship, even tho I think he’d be a class RWB/RW at this level and get goals and assists for days. Lets say he goes on loan, his wages are already docked 50% with us down ( approx50-60k a week), say Porto pay up to 40-45k, the difference is paid by us during the loan or back to him if we win promotion. He gets regular game time, a chance to rebuild his career and if it doesn’t suit Porto on a permanent deal we’ve got a premier league level full back ready to go next season.

I think the big thing for us is how quickly we feel the need to sell, do we have funds to sign new players without having to take the first bid that comes in, historically we have held firm on player transfer fees, although on the flip of it we’ve also spent needless money on dog awful players so it will be interesting to see how this one pans out. I think the Villa move is more suited, his Mrs is pregnant so he isn’t going to want to be too far away. As I’ve mentioned before he asked to leave twice in the last three windows, maybe with Rodgers no longer here and us still in the premier league that stance may have changed but we are a championship club so naturally he wants out as he feels he’s too good for that level. I think we’re looking around £40m for him although from a selfish point of view I want the club to maximise player sales so the rebuild is better

Would Roma go for Youri after signing Aouar on a free? Have they lost some midfield players?
-
It’s a shame we didn’t manage to get him permanently last season. I don’t know what his value would be now though but it can’t be a lot
-
I’m not disagreeing at all, but I’m sure we can find the right one
-
You mean Nathan Dyer I’m guessing. I think as a squad player that season, he was a sensible signing but nobody saw what was coming, most notably our recruitment department. We haven’t found the right fit for us absolutely not, none of the above have ever been anywhere near Mahrez’ level, I’d even go as far to say Knockaerts when we were in the championship too. if we can get rid of a certain DOF who’s out of his depth, maybe some of the players recommended May get looked at more closely.
-
I agree entirely about finding them for next to nothing it’s in our history we do that - Vardy, Mahrez, Kante et Al. It’s also a fair comment if Prem clubs are in we don’t have much hope, but what would you see his price tag being? Because if we get our business done early in my eyes we could get this over the line with a better package and playing opportunities. I think squad status is a big thing if he were to sign for Brighton, they have already pretty much sold McAllister and Caicedo will go, they’ve got Dahoud going in on a free and Milner and I don’t see it stopping there, so where would he fit? I think he’d be in a rotation where as here for me he’d start in our midfield. I believe he left Fulham for MK Dons when he was slightly younger because he wanted to play first team football and did well getting his move to Celtic. These are the types of low fee, high quality signings we can get. Someone mentioned on another post Nesbit (no not Rab C.) from Hibernian as well, if we have to dip into these types of markets to unearth these players let’s have a go.

Was talking to my mate who’s a buyer for City and the talk inside the club is Barnes will be one of the first two to go, it’s just a matter of transfer fee. Backs up what I said previously that he had asked to leave twice before. Don’t have any ill feeling toward the lad, but let’s get it over the line and move on. As people have said there are plenty of quality wingers out there

If he’s available hed be a great signing. I think he would thrive here

Be a good signing but can see him going abroad, didn’t do too bad in Germany from memory….wasn’t he with Kramaric at Hoffenheim? -
Wouldn’t mind this to be fair, currently top scorer for Italy at the U20 World Cup with 6 and some rave reviews. Has Reiss Nelson signed a new deal at Arsenal does anyone know? We’ve needed a right winger forever!!!
-
Kevin Ellison Paul Brooker Franck Rolling Craig Hignett Roman Bednar Diomansay Kamara
-
I mentioned Ronnie Edwards in another post along with Clarke-Harris, I think both would be good additions. I find it quite funny a Chelsea fan has made this compilation but the clips do the lad justice
-
AC Milan looks likely, Mercury reported they’d agreed a pre-contract with Amartey not so long ago, that could possibly be a red herring….or Amartey is that good and we just didn’t know it 😂

How bad has our recruitement been
SB87_LCFC replied to messerschmitt's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pretty sure head scout/recruitment left for Bordeaux in 2019 which just so happens to coincide with the lack of real quality being brought into the club by his replacement and those around him with power to make things happen (or not in the case of John Rudkin). £170m later and only Castagne and Faes the only two regulars out of that crop of players signed. Granted Fofana was a starter and someone who if he had the right brain capacity we could have built a team around and moved on higher earners or players advancing in age. Add to that the disastrous decisions to sign Bertrand, and Vestergaard from a side we dicked 9-0 the previous season and in a Southampton team with the worst defensive record that season , plus the rather insane decision to splash 17m on Soumare when we already had 6 cm’s at the club and we’ve been crying out for a top quality right winger since Mahrez and we STILL never replaced him. Internal set up from top to bottom to me needs a mass overhaul, this is why I don’t think even play offs is in our reach next season. -
Too many injuries in quick succession and lack of confidence for whatever reason (toxicity in the camp im assuming) sadly a player who has struggled to rediscover his form we all loved him for. Sad to read so many negative comments about a player who at one time was held in such high regard and courted by Real Madrid, but he just hasn’t delivered when he would be one of the players we needed most! no ill feeling on my part, if we can get what we paid I think we’ve done well

Great shout, although some of europes elite are sniffing, depends if he is of a Sancho mindset and sees greener grass abroad -

I believe Tuanzebe is a free agent this summer? Has championship experience with Villa and became something of a hero there from memory. Fabio Carvalho on a loan deal could be a good shout, as he’s been told by Klopp he doesn’t feature in his main plans next season, so his agent will have his finger on the trigger. Really rate Amad Diallo and also a Fabio Silva fan, but I think both of these lads will play premier league football or top flight football somewhere in Europe sadly. -
Barnes will 100% be gone this summer. Have it on good authority he wanted to go in January and the January previous due to a breakdown in relationship with Rodgers and his England ambitions. The feeling is it’s a matter of how much but Villa are in pole position due to location with West Ham also sniffing. £50m is about the average fee these days, I think for all parties concerned it would be best. Talented lad, but mismanaged like so many others who we are going to see the back of this summer.

We need a good mix of youth and experience, the free agent market doesn’t have very many eye catching players in it from either of the top two leagues, although I did notice Liam Moore and Jeff Schlupp are both out of contract this summer, call it sentimental but the two lads know the club and probably care a site more than a lot of others including those robbing us of £80k a week +. I’d start with and basing this purely off of the uncertainty of how much we have money wise, Jonson Clark-Harris and Ronnie Edwards at Peterborough. JCH is a Leicester lad and apparently Posh are willing to listen to offers. 26 goals last season. if we can keep one of Daka or Kel, plus Vards in the final year of his contract it could be a good option. Edwards is England u20 cb and been a key man. One definitely for the future. If we have Faes and Souttar potentially as the two starting cbs next season he could be good in a rotation. Would love Tommy Doyle from Man City possibly on loan, I think he would be our type of player and had a great spell with Sheffield United. I wonder if he’d be available permanently though and be out of our price range. -
Manager for the Championship rebuild - who do you want?

I did know the club were paying a fine, but with his A Licence starting back in March Reims no longer have to pay the fine. Well according to this link anyway. https://talksport.com/football/1363115/reims-will-still-fines-pro-licence-west-ham/amp/
