I'm confident it will be this season in a game where our goal leads a charmed life and the opposition have 33 shots, hit the woodwork 4 times (which will be more times than Vardy touches the ball) and somehow we finish 0-0

I thought we were awful. Everton should have been out of sight in the 1st half. Cooper hasn't won a PL match in 18 games - only paid attention to the last 5 and can see why - doesn't have a clue Better after FB (our best player in the 1st 2 matches, but randomly dropped since) came on, but still didn't create enough Everton had a full back issue and we should have started with Fatawu instead of Ayew. We didn't use out bench effectively - we can use 5 subs these days and despite taking control of the game failed to create anything real and had to rely on a lucky corner Ricci superglued to the bench and Vestegaard relegated to the naughty step - both would be involved with a Manager who had the squad behind him We didn't have our young academy international McAteer in the squad, who would offer more from the bench than Reid - although as already advised - Cooper ain't going to use the bench anyway Not sure if it is the players or what Cooper is getting out of our players - this looks to be our worst team ever in the PL (Basset & the 2002 squad are their only challengers)

Leicester City versus Everton Tactical Analysis
beepee1984 replied to StriderHiryu's topic in Leicester City Forum
Great Analysis again. However you mention the fact we had momentum in the 2nd half without actually looking like an attacking threat and failed to use our subs again, but like Spurs the game was only not out of sight at this point because of the oppositions poor finishing and in fact it turned out to be a lucky point We knew Everton would be struggling at Full Back so why we did not start Fatawu instead of Ayew - only Cooper will know (add that to the list with tactics, Ricci superglued to a bench and sending Vestegaard back to the naughty step) -
In short - we are not a bad team, but being poorly managed during the game! A player who has had injury problems and not match sharp, was brought on to tighten up and invite pressure onto the defence, then mis controlled the ball and in his desperation sticks out a leg and costs us 2 points (Meanwhile we have an international defender who is match fit and playing well dropped from the squad with no reason - who would have been a better personal option if the idea to bring an extra defender on was a good idea - which it wasn't)

I heard it last week, senior players do not like Coopers "Hands Off" approach. Enzo was telling all players exactly what he wanted at all times, where as Cooper leaves them to think for themselves more. I have to believe there is some truth to it - Vestegaard being dropped from the squad with no reason, Ricci not playing a single minute so far - it feels like something else is going on and I've not heard any players speak supportively of the new manager - last season all they talked about was how Enzo had changed things since he came in

Mads Riccy Vestegaard Okili Kristensen Ndidi Winks Fatuwu Buenonotti Mavidi Vardy We need Pace out wide on both blanks. Vestegaard is just less nervy than Faes Riccy has to play some part this season Kristensen over JJ just because having a left footed more forward thinking Left Back has to be used with the issues Everton are having with full backs this season Ndidi back as a ball winning midfield with Winks alongside him as the playmaker just behind FB who needs to come in for creativity No bringing on extra defenders late in the game If we need a change in midfield, use Skipp and not Hamza Not sure if Vardy can see out 90 minutes, but can use Edouard of the bench

I feel we have the players to be doing better. Still not sure what his tactics are? We are scoring goals, but that appears to be in spite of the approach to the game, rather than because we look dangerous The choice/timing of substitutions in poor Defensively at this level we are weak, late subs making us defend more doesn't work Hamza/Coady were never going to be positive subs? Why has Ricci not played a minute Why has Vestegaard being dropped despite good performances Why has FB being dropped, despite being probably our best player in the opening 2 matches I don't want to turn against a manager after 4 matches, but he is raising more questions than answers at the moment

Leicester v Villa Match Thread 31/8/2024
beepee1984 replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
FB dropped - really Steve? -
Surely not - we probably cant afford to sack him
-
They already get so many that any emails containing sack Rudkin or Rudkin out automatically goes into Spam
-
I would rest Mads, FB & Vardy. The other 8 should be the team Cooper wants to play in the Prem. We have had an awful preseason, not looked any better in the first 2 matches, we clearly need practice at executing how Cooper wants to play ( that is if he has any clue how he wants to play) and we need a confidence booster (although this could spectacularly backfire if we canβt win)
-
So far, so poor Start matches like a pub team who were out the night before Tactics appear non-existent We are sitting back, but our defensive unit is all over the place. Should have conceded more in both games - Mads is playing well Even our good spell against Spurs looked like it was in spite of the tactics. No Changes from 1st match, despite the poor performance
-
The only reason for his continued absence - is that our board are aiming to sell Him in this transfer window. Only good news is that our board are so inept, that he is likely to stay and will be in the starting team from August 31st
-
I have to credit the players for their improvement in the 2nd half. Gives us hope
-
Tbf 1-0 at HT is better than I expected But the level of our performance is actually worse than I expected
-
It is impossible for me to have my hopes dashed this season - (got no hope this season)
-
Not sure it matters who we play at that end of the pitch, not sure they are going to be needed much
-
The kid we are borrowing from Brighton is the only outfield player coming out of this half with any credit
-
Nor has Cooper
-
That was a shot!
-
Conceded 7 corners already and not conceded a goal. Thats better than the season where it felt like every corner produced a goal But other than that, we are worse than awful
-
Less than 15 minutes in and I feel like i have fell of the bus
-
Why are they talking about Solanke playing for a big club?? Hasnβt he just signed for Spurs, hardly a big club IMO
-
Just pray we donβt need him
