  1. But some of us wanted to see them totally wiped out! Still take the result any day though.
  2. No ad-breaks, all star cast... But they also have Nadine ****ing Dories and Kwasi Kwarteng
  3. Reform with 13 is scary and could sadly be a sign of things to come...
  4. That sale was made to avoid a FURTHER penalty based on a seperate accounting period. I'm not sure when the penalty for the current period would have been applied this season or next though.
  5. Last season we had most of the major signings in before pre-season started. Fatawu and Yunus were the exceptions, but that's because we were negotating for Rak-Sakyi at Palace before they decided to keep him. Mads came in not right away, but did come in fairly quickly. So maybe we will ses similar this time round? Because of the Euros, the league starts one week later this time round, which is worth noting.
  6. Shows the madness of the Premier League. Atalanta fans are laughing because we are about to spend 13M on Okoli, but by Premier League standards that's cheap. Of course cheap doesn't mean good, but it just shows what it takes to compete. Going to be a rough season...
  7. Exactly. Golding is coming in it lookes like, but we still need 2/3 CM's depending on if Ndidi stays or not.
  8. FWIW, he was quite highly rated in Italy, but hasn't had the best season at Frosinone who he was on loan at, and who got relegated. But do remember that Cesare Casadei was / is also quite highly rated in Italy too What I would say is that this is a player that if we get relegated will be a beast in the Championship and he might be good enough to play in a relegation scrapping team now. Also has resale value, so overall on paper not a bad one. I just think we should have got one of the other centre backs out first. We collect CBs like stamps at this club.
  9. He's not as slow as Doyle, Vestergaard, etc. I wouldn't say he's slow, but he's no pace merchant. It's hard to say because the official stats sites don't have stats for pure pace or acceleration. But if you see him on the eye and also see sites like Football Manager, EAFC, his pace is reasonable but nothing like Kyle Walker or someone like that: https://fminside.net/players/4-fm-24/43372285-caleb-okoli I think Atalanta are good at making us overpay for players they no longer need.
  10. He's not actually that fast...
  11. Q: How many Centre Backs do Leicester need? A: Yes
  12. Actually a good player, but IMO not a priority position. I agree with 3 at the back, but we kind of setup as 3 at the back last season as in possesion we were 3412.
  13. I think it's because he dropped in form as the season went on. But I think that's rather unfair given that Schumacher left and they had problems replacing him. Whittaker I think has potential but is a bit of a risk. He'd be a slam dunk for a team going for promotion from the Championship, but maybe a bit risky for the Premier League. But if you could get him for 10-15m, then I'd say based on prices in England that might be a good deal.
  14. To be fair if Jaden Phillogene is available for the same money, he is the better signing to make given he's just proved himself at Championship level. Maybe a more realistic signing is Morgan Whittaker who no-one is talking about, but got 19 goals and 8 assists across all competitions for a poor Plymouth side last time round.
  15. I find it really odd that we haven't announced anyone yet, especially given that the KDH news feels like such a downturn. For context, on July 1st last year we announced both Harry Winks and Connor Coady. By all accounts Abdul Fatawu has already signed, so even if it's not 100% official till August 31st (that's the date his loan signing was made official last year), you would think we could still announce it. Our lack of activity doesn't exactly fill me with confidence...
  16. At that price they will face stiff competition from multiple clubs, including us!
  17. Looks like he can use both feet but operates on the right wing.
  18. Play Ben Nelson all season, increase his value then sell him for 100% pure profit. That would be the most efficient way to get round PSR. But more likely the two lads everyone else is mentioning.
  19. Yep Atletico were interested in him in January but signed Vermalen instead. Looks more than good enough to me to play in Europe, but I'm kind of shocked he didn't make the Denmark European squad, so not sure what's up there. Southampton punching well above their weight but given that the player and manager go way back, you can understand why the player would trust in the manager that gave him his big break. I guess that means that through Cooper we can look forward to seeing... Djed Spence?
  20. I agree with you and we've had an interest for a long time. But it looks like he is going to Southampton as he used to play under Martin for MK Dons.
  21. This is one I've had my eye on too as another CAM. Only issue is that Union SG are owned by the Brighton owner so I feel like they will always have first dibs on their players. They have quite a few players I think would be good for us; Mo Amoura their striker is rapid and got 18 goals last season. Noah Sadiki is a really promising CDM. They have a few more talents coming through too.
  22. He won't do it, but having someone man-mark him throughout wouldn't be the worst idea. As depressing as it sounds, I don't think we can out play the Swiss based on their patterns of play and performances so far. But if Gallagher was deployed just to deal with Xhaka throughout the game, you could stop them get going and then rely on better individual quality to try and scrape by. Murat Yakin was interviewed after the Italy match and said very confidently "I knew if Italy turned up with a back 4 we would destroy them," and they did. The Swiss were minutes away from beating Germany and though they drew with Scotland, they should have won that game easily. England are fortunate though in that they could still win the whole thing just by relying on individual brilliance. Though I think Spain would absolutely smoke them.
  23. This team is brilliant, they play like a top-end Premier League team. At the last World Cup under Enrique, all they did was pass it. Their chance creation was poor and though they controlled games, if anything the few chances they gave away were always more clear cut for the opposition. This team has everything, power, pace, control, guile, direct play if needed, etc. They are so well coached. What is even more incredible is they don't have too many world stars. Rodri is the one that is truly World Class, but the young guns are good but not the finished article yet. Moratta solid at international level, but never considered an elite marksman. The best team in the tournament by far. I hope their manager gives the FA ideas on what they need. England need to play system football! It could well be Potter and compared to Southgate, he is much better in terms of setup and tactics.
  24. Fabian Ruiz has been my player of the tournament so far. Passing, tackling, plays under pressure, can finish, always composed. Brilliant player!
