🚨 New newsletter - The Post Horn Gallop
dormelcfc replied to dormelcfc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Morning all, just a slight push on this with a few updates alongside a second release this morning! 🦊 One, thank you so much for the support so far, it's been great to see. Keep subscriptions and comments coming. 🦊 I've slightly changed the release dates to early Friday morning to include any updates from press conferences (which was obviously also changed from Thursday to Friday after making that decision). You can still subscribe here. And if you want any more information, feel free to have a look on Leicestershire Live right here. Thanks once again - I'll fade into the background again now haha! -
Good morning all, Not 100% sure if this is allowed but thought I'd give it a go. I've been a long term lurker of FoxesTalk but feel free to delete if not allowed. Despite it being miserable at LCFC right now, I've started a new Leicester City newsletter called the Post Horn Gallop. As it stands, it is a weekly newsletter but I'm hoping to increase the frequency very soon. Its intent is just to bring all of the latest LCFC headlines together in one easy to digest piece. Any thoughts, shares, feedback, comments and subscriptions would be greatly appreciated. The Post Horn Gallop can be found completely for free over on Substack here.

Can't remember if we've done a lot of business with Everton over recent years but funnily enough I *think* the last two are strikers. First one being Yakubu, and then the second being a £4m deadline day deal (yep, 1st September) for Jermaine Beckford. Let's hope Cannon follows Yak's lead 😂

Telegraph reporting that we're "pushing" to sign him, Feyenoord and Sheff Utd doing the same. Forest watching the situation. Goes down to the wire this I think.
-
Best of luck getting that maroon one, couple of hundred quid at least nowadays

Bring back Burrda

Expect this to be confirmed within minutes

Not totally sure where to post this but I find the social media activity of the club intriguing. After most defeats this season, there has practically been radio silence particularly on twitter for 24 hours after the final whistle. This time, it’s been a steady stream of content. Very much a change in tactic from the club which I would suspect ties into what something a previous poster stated that they’re only wanting to uphold their reputation as a “do good” club to external parties and are not really taking fans’ opinions into considerations.

Crystal Palace (H) Pre-match Thread | Saturday 15th October 12:30PM

Genuinely have no enthusiasm for this game at all. Fortunately, I've been roped into working and won't be able to attend. Can't believe I'm saying that but that's just a sign of how bad it has gotten. -
Would I be unrealistic in saying Lopetegui? Athletic reporting he's on the brink of being sacked by Sevilla. We get him in and they can have Brendan and he can finally have those team meetings in Spanish as he's wished all along 👀
-
Know there are financial difficulties but if the pay-off is £10m, it now seems even more of a no-brainer to move him on. Anything less than £15m and we've done well in my opinion.
-
Just to maybe relieve some, major journos such as Percy only got wind of Puel's sacking just half an hour before it actually happened. Stay calm everyone, it'll come.
-
Looking at when we sacked Puel, a statement was put out at 10:30am the day after the Crystal Palace game. Presumably, that was after all the players were in etc so should the decision be made today, wouldn't be surprised to see something similar happen.
-
Reckon if it's coming this week, it would be tomorrow.

Think they usually share a short vid of Rodgers a few hours after the game usually, mainly on Twitter. But for me the lack of any pre-Brighton stuff on the channels considering the presser has effectively been done is odd.
-
Not coming with any inside knowledge but interesting that the club haven't run with any of the less controversial pre-Brighton stuff and a stark absence of any Rodgers post-match interview shared on any of club's social channels.
-
We'll probably end up signing him from them in about three years time once they've realised he's a cart horse
-
Might not mean a lot but been told there is a plan for Rodgers to take the pre-Chelsea presser so very unlikely anything happens before that at the very least. Could change of course.
-
Very much doubt that there will be a presser today. Might have already happened in an embargoed section after the Saints game.
-
I believe he is. He's done it before. Might have had assistance from Whelan and Rudkin but it was Top who made the decision to jettison Puel, who for all of his vices, handled the crash tragedy with a lot of decorum and respect. That must have been a very tough decision at the time. Have no doubt that when the time comes, he'd make the decision.
-
The way this club has approached manager recruitment in the past, I'm convinced it will be someone with Premier League experience which to me screams either Benitez or Bielsa. Should steer clear of both in my opinion and go for someone like Eusebio Di Francesco.
-
Genuinely have no idea how Rodgers gets out of this one now. Absolutely dire football, fragile mentality, players wanting to leave, likely to go the first five games without a win. Remember being very shocked when Palace decided to sack De Boer after three games but would totally understand if Rodgers was bombed out tonight. Nothing I've seen so far this season suggests it is going to get any better. With Stockport coming up, gives a good opportunity for a new manager to come in, assess the squad and maybe take the pressure off slightly on getting an immediate positive result in the league.

Southampton (H) Pre-match Thread - Sunday 22nd May 4PM
dormelcfc replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Quite poignant for me that after nearly a decade of being a season ticket holder that my last game before moving down to Southampton is against the Saints 😂 Having said that, would love for another 9-0 pasting -
Daka is absolutely nothing but an out-and-out goalscorer, which for a me is a huge positive. Sure, he could work on a lot of things including his running off the ball, first touch, hold up play etc but the fact he can score even when he's having a shocker bodes really well for when Vardy eventually decides to hang up his boots.
