  1. This is giving me arse ache
  2. I think there’s a fair few factors. This morning I did my last long run (20 miles) before Brighton. I did 18 a few weeks ago much quicker than I did it today. Still proud of the achievement but now thinking my target time is out the window. maybe I need some Tiramisu
  3. Shorten one leg on every bit of furniture. Either open all the cereal and let them go stale or take enough out the box so that there’s not enough for a decent bowl. Remove pages from books. Lock all the windows then take the keys.

    Dementia

So sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you look after yourself during this difficult time and try to remember the happy times. My father was diagnosed with early on-set shortly after his 60th birthday. A couple of years earlier we lost my mums dad to it so it was devastating especially for mum. Eight tough years have passed and he has severe behavioural and physical needs that means he has to be in a care home. During this time I’ve seen my mum display super human strength and my sisters and I have become closer. Dad hasn’t recognised me for nearly two years and he can no longer speak, only really the occasional coherent word. We get so caught up in life over various things. But the thing I want to do most in the world is just have a normal conversation with my dad. It’s stolen my father and it’s ruined my mums later life plans. They should be enjoying retirement and doing things they want to but it has all been taken away.

  6. I've got Brighton booked for next year but would like something else between now and then as its such a long time away. Most of the local half marathons fall on weekedns I can't really do although I might do Leicester and try to improve on my time as I picke dup a calf injury 4 miles from the end so ende dup limping round to the finish. Other than that I'm trying to get in to good habits and improve form, really need to start incorporating strength training in to my routine though.
  7. Sobbing in to a can of Carling now. Thanks.
  8. I’m pondering wether to get a hydration vest for my training block as the mileage increases but I’m not sure if the pack will actually make me hotter.
  9. Well done mate, have a good rest and remember to drink!

    Pizza

Robertos is my choice for takeaway pizza, been going for years. Also The Bulls Head in Repton is brilliant, do some good drinks and other bits of food too.
  11. While at uni I ate a curry made with questionable chicken. We had plans to go out the same night so after I ate I started to get ready, during the shower I felt something was off with my stomach but carried on. I was burping and farting out toxic gasses. Being a typical student lager goblin I whacked on a shirt, jeans and paco robane and hit the union. Whilst stood at the bar I was getting a sweat on and starting to feel a bit nervous. Two pints later I had crippling cramps and even my legs and knees were sweating. Then all of a sudden I had such bad cramps that I had to get to the toilet immediately. I clenched my arse and hurry waddled to the toilet and thankfully one of the cubicles was free. I got in there and proceeded to do the worst crap of my life. It was luminous green and I swear it emitted a glow and the smell could peel paint. It was a public health hazard that even Jonathan Van-Tam would shy away from. I could hear other blokes in there getting agitated at the smell but more and more people were coming in. I just happened to look at the door and notice in horror that I hadn’t pulled the lock all the way across, in a panic knowing that someone would soon try to open the door, I leant forward in a sort of half crouch and stuck out my leg to try and block the door. At the same time somebody booted the door and it flung open revealing me to the whole room, crouched with my leg out and covered in sweat with a pathetic look on my face. The kicker was in fancy dress as a Smurf, I don’t know who was most surprised.
  12. Yes but what about the idiots making a nuisance of themselves when there’s VIPs around!? 😂
  13. Going to dust of the trainers again this weekend, I've had a bit of an on-off time this year with one thing and another. I recognise I'm in a bit of a slump at the minute and been makinig excuses not to run. I've gone in to the ballot for the London Marathon next year but not holding out much hope, so looking at Brighton also.
  14. I meant more that’s what she calls me but yeah works both ways 😂
  15. You sound like my wife
  16. Dragovic? Tunchev, only played about a season but I think he was here for a couple?
  17. Just got back from my first run and 5k since early December. Had some illness and other issues and generally lost motivation. Forced myself out today and feel much better for it. 32:10 mins which is better than I was expecting. Had signed up for the Leicestershire half in November. I had given up on the idea and I know it would be stupid and a killer to run it next Sunday but a small part of me is tempted. Might have to lock the trainers away for the week to stop myself
  18. Spot on. but wait a grown man has been brain washed by a woman hell bent on bringing down the oh so innocent royals. Prince Andrew is walking around laughing his sweaty bollocks off right now
  19. I did the Nottingham half 8 years ago, pretty good course. I’m looking at the Leicestershire half at prestwold in Feb. Need to sign up to something else, after doing the Nottingham half I pretty much stopped running until early this year.
  20. A disappointing 2:14. Was on course to get 2 hours but mile 10 my calf gave up the ghost. Pretty much power walked the rest of the way.
  21. A deranged gaggle of cvnts?
  22. I put in a couple of mild hills towards the end which was a killer. Yeah think a few short slow runs with the odd quick mixed in from here.
