  1. A master class in everything you shouldn’t do when trying to get a ticket. First post on the forum is a request for tickets. Language used suggests it’s a possible tourist away fan. No replies to any comments to deny this or explain further. It reminds me of those people who request tickets on LCFC ticket selling social media sites, then when you look at their profile they are dressed in the full kit of the away team.
  2. I seem to remember that when ID checks for away games were last done, those not turning up for collection at the away ground on the day (and I think there were often a fair few) were contacted later and faced some questions and issues. Clearly it could be for many genuine reasons, but having done it once you’d probably be on the club’s hit list and automatically selected for regular checks for a good while. You could explain away one and probably get away with it, but if it kept happening there would surely be sanctions. So I don’t think the serial sellers of away tickets to others would get away with it for long.
  3. Some good points here, but also we have known that this is going to happen before the Arsenal game for a few weeks and many fans will be either at the game or watching it in pubs in the city. So there has been chance for those that are able, to make plans to be around a bit earlier, for when timing is announced.
  4. But someone/some people are trying to make something happen. This is something lots of people can get behind with little effort, as lots will be going to the match anyway and can probably make plans to get there a bit earlier. I’m not naive enough to think one protest will bring about change, but anything which attempts to change the narrative of ‘Best owners in the country’ which many fans, inexplicably, are still saying, is a good thing I’d say. It will bring an uncomfortable feeling to the club and owner. I’m sure they still think there is nothing to see here and they should be worshipped forever for the success they’ve given us, which was incredible and we’re all thankful for that. But what has happened in the last few years has been disgraceful and I witnessed many zombies clapping the players off at Everton. We can’t arrange a military coup, but we can express in a small way, what limited power we do have, and it’s about time we did.
  5. Are the details being held back, so that the club know as little as possible about it for as long as possible maybe? I appreciate what your post is asking though, as if details are held back for too long, it may lessen the impact it could have.
  6. SL4/SU4 haven’t been on sale yet. SL4 is mostly right behind the goal, so you need to be towards the back rows, above cross bar height in my opinion. SL3 towards the back is a good view and has been a good experience for me, but you can never know who will be standing around you of course. As a comment above said, SU3/4 both have a good perspective of the game.
  7. Being a Leicester fan has always been about identity. It’s the place where I feel I most belong. It’s changed a bit over the years from my dad first taking me when I was 7, going with my mates to away games as a teenager and then taking my own children. But throughout, it’s remained a local community, tribal thing for me. I know it’s not all important in reality, but emotionally it is, as it’s my greatest escape from reality. The match day ritual leading up until kick off. We all have our own. Nodding to familiar faces, or even speaking to other fans who I still don’t even know the names of after many years. Then Matt Piper helping me to process the game on the Radio Leicester after match pod and the brilliant ‘Big Strong Leicester Boys’ pod doing the same. I’ve loved our times leading to success. It’s addictive and I’d love to experience the highs again. But the actual days of success I have to admit I haven’t enjoyed that much. The presentation of the PL trophy after the Everton game, with all the hangers on, including hearing Keith Vaz talking absolute nonsense. The Championship Trophy presented after the Blackburn game, again with loads of hangers on, including a TikToker on the pitch who was pictured at Old Trafford in a Man Utd shirt shortly before. I care passionately about my club. I desperately want success for it, but the paradox of that is I hate what success means and brings with it. I said at the start that being a Leicester fan for me is about identity and belonging. Sadly, none of that comes from the club itself anymore. I’ve never felt a bigger disconnect. I don’t want us to go down and down, but if it meant we could eventually reach a place where that connection is possible again, with a transparent, competent leadership off the pitch and committed players who seem to care on it, I honestly wouldn’t be bothered. In fact I’d welcome it.
  8. Fair play and of course you’re right, as we all have different preferences. I love just to the side of the goal near the back of the lower end. One of those rare tight grounds, like QPR, where you feel more connected to the game.
  9. I think it’s more about the fact it’s the worst block still on sale. I’ve been holding off buying since Monday and I’m sure others are doing the same.
  10. I imagine this will be a slow seller for a while, with people waiting for the better blocks to open. I appreciate it’s the home club who dictate the order of sale, but Leicester have gone back to opening a very limited amount again, rather than multiple blocks.
  11. There were a fair amount of various negative hand signals and verbal abuse, which was obviously thoroughly deserved. Unbelievably though, there was also quite a bit of clapping towards the players who briefly came over, admittedly the rare likeable ones in our squad. It seems now an almost zombie like response in worship of the cult of KP, whatever happens. Didn’t surprise me though, as I read a response on social media this week in reply to a negative post from one of our fans that simply said ‘Best owners in the country’ Its like some people have been frozen in time for the past few years.
  12. Ah ok. Same experience for me as Flan says above. With years of regular home and aways as the personal assistant, although always carrying ID just in case, nothing has ever been asked of us and you enter the ground normally. 1 away ticket is issued for the disabled person’s age category and the 1 separate carer’s ticket is just a normal adult. Just scan at the turnstile as normal. If in a wheelchair there will be an accessible turnstile.
  13. If you are meaning in the Leicester end, the person in need of personal assistance needs to have a supporter account with LCFC and then register as a disabled supporter, providing proof. For example, a copy of the letter stating entitlement to Disability Living Allowance. Unfortunately, although there are still tickets available for this, I’m pretty sure they’d need to buy a LCFC membership first before they can buy tickets. All matches home and away are eligible for disability tickets with a free personal assistant, both wheelchair and ambulant supporters, subject to availability of course. Anna Dickman, the disability liaison officer, is the person to speak to at LCFC and would be able to give you exact details. Other clubs will have their own way of registering as a supporter and buying tickets, but the supporter + personal assistant free is standard in at least the top two divisions in England.
  14. There are a few different videos of this circulating on social media. 🤣
  15. Not to do with our stadium atmosphere, so apologies that it’s off topic, but this is what it’s all about. A couple of YB fans, in the stadium after their loss against Celtic last night, presented a young Celtic fan with a YB scarf, then this happened. Amazing support all night apparently, even with a loss, and a heartwarming video.
  16. Every bit of what you’ve said is exactly the same for me.
  17. I like listening to Matt Piper on the after-match podcast. I know he’s not on every game now, but seems like a fair while since he’s been on and it’s not the same without him. Anyone know if he’s just taking a break or finished?
  18. I never have done, apart from buying shirts for my kids until they stopped wanting to be shirters. On matchday, I have never really understood paying extortionate prices for mostly crap food and missing minutes either side of half time and at various points during the game. For the recent FA Cup game there was what looked like a day trip family in the row in front of me, near an aisle, all dressed in what looked like new scarves, hats and a LCFC carrier bag of goodies. Great to see new fans, but they were all on the move every few minutes, up and down for food and drink, kids generally restless and wandering around, and none took much interest in the actual game, which seemed ironic. I appreciate though that it’s people’s choice what they do and for some, food and drink in the ground is part of the match day ritual and experience, probably more so at the moment, so it might have increased more than decreased for some.
  19. Around 200 seats gone for this, in the one block open, after the priority scheme yesterday and priority 1 today. Presumably that includes the number for player’s families and hangers on. Not often I like to see a poor away end turnout for us, but really want to for this.
  20. Yes exactly. Same goes for pundits. Naturally they can’t watch every game or know every club in detail and they have a general opinion, but it’s sometimes way off. A great example was Micah Richards talking about James Justin’s mistake against Villa, adding that he was having a generally good season so far.
  21. Agreed. I go to 99% of away games but not now doing this. The context of the game means it’s an ideal one to totally boycott. Won’t ever happen though.
  22. I mentioned the ‘cult’ word in another thread. We all need to belong somewhere and find identity somehow, and to various degrees we all buy in to ‘The Cult Of KP’. A common trait of cults is that the members worship the leaders without question and shoot down anyone who dares to criticise them. That trait is certainly present in some of our fanbase.
  23. Fair point and you’re right with this. I didn’t express it in the best way, but meant more that there is a certain type of fan who can never accept any criticism or negativity towards the team, or it means you’re not a loyal fan. Those that applaud the team off on all occasions, whatever has happened, in cult like adoration and frown upon anyone who dares to show their frustration. But it is very strange, as you say, that the in-game passive fans suddenly come to life to clap at the end, especially after a woeful performance.
  24. This zombie like behaviour is weird. Some fans seem to have the mentality that you ‘Get behind the lads’ whatever happens, otherwise you’re not a true fan. Seemingly not ever being able to criticise or show your unhappiness to the ‘Cult leadership’ on the pitch and must only worship them with glazed eyes through all circumstances. I think it’s normal and healthy to show your frustration when things aren’t at an acceptable level, otherwise it’s endorsing it. I don’t mean being a serial moaner at every stray pass or every loss of course, and the players were deservedly clapped off after losing to Man City. But when they were applauded off by some against Wolves and many other occasions over the last few seasons when it wasn’t merited at all, it is bizarre.
