Is this the most stressful season as a Leicester fan ?
Drew Peacock replied to marcymarc666's topic in Leicester City Forum
True, but I think the two seasons are linked. Last season caused so much anger and anxiety that it doesn’t take much to re-live those feelings. Even when things were going as well as they could this season, somewhere in the back of my mind there was a dark space of doubt because of what previously happened. Then the last couple of months have been horrendous, in many ways, and it somehow feels just as bad being top of the league right now, as it did being relegated. Strange. -
It looked horrendous live. I’ve still only seen it live and am sure it was totally off his head unless I’m mistaken, but the BBC report said it came off his shoulder. That’s how bad it was. He has the uncanny ability of making the ball look like a training reactaball. One of those misshapen balls used in sports training for hand-eye coordination, where the ball comes off any surface in an unnatural, unpredictable way which defies logic. I’ve never been in the ‘Hammer Daka’ club and always thought despite his weaknesses he’s had something to offer, but after that Leeds miss he’s declined further and with so few games left and so much at stake, to me he seems unplayable right now.

Yes I noticed that too. Cov v Leeds.

Working now. Working now. Strange, as always works right on 2pm as you said. Thought I wasn’t logged in for a minute or had got the wrong week.
-
Sums up the state of the club off the pitch right now. 🙈

Have these come on sale yet for anyone who can buy from 2.00pm? Still says ‘coming soon’ for me.

Foxes Trust – LCFC Accounts Statement
Drew Peacock replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
Genuinely interested in examples of ways you think it could. I realise pressure groups of any kind can bring change at times. As has been said elsewhere in this thread though, those who confront the club seem to be largely ignored, including UFS, who seem to be more aggressive in their approach, and I mean aggressive in a good way. -
Foxes Trust – LCFC Accounts Statement
Drew Peacock replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
I agree. Does the existence of the trust make any difference to a club who seem so unapproachable on any subject and about as transparent as The Freemasons? Even if mad Mick Lynch from the railway trade union joined and tried to bring changes or accountability from the club would he succeed in getting anywhere ? They have the power, and avoid answering every question and confrontation forever. Or for as long as possible, until they can’t any longer, then make excuses and deflect blame onto anyone and everything apart from themselves. It’s clear the internal enquiry at the end of last season either never happened or concluded ‘There is nothing to see.’ Now, this financial mismanagement over years, with terrible recruitment and contract dealings is blamed totally on wanting to compete. Partly true yes, but far from the whole truth. What could force them to be accountable or to bring change? Are they untouchable? -
Different context though. There was a game still to be won after the first goal, but the game had been won after the third.
-
I agree. I was in the lower tier, near the goal, and the celebration for our equaliser was one of the best for quite some time. Not manufactured for online views, but one of those where everyone reacts, as one, with genuine excitement and passion to a brilliant goal at our end, after coming back from 2-0 down in a big game. I’m not sure what more people wanted to see in that perfect away day moment. There were some other good moments too. I fully realise there are lots of negative aspects when surrounding the atmosphere at our club and many more, but there are definitely chronic negativity addicts, who never seem able to praise anything at all, even when it’s good.

I’m sure he was the commentator for our recent home game against QPR on ITV’s ‘The Football League Highlights.’ Possibly freelancing.

Sheff U fans pouring out after 15 minutes making our home crowd fans look like diehards.

Chelsea Ticket & Travel Information

Yes I remember that being the case not that long ago, but the last time I went I’m sure they’d done some work and that was no longer an issue. Not 100% though. -
Chelsea Ticket & Travel Information
Drew Peacock replied to davieG's topic in Ticket News and Travel
I’ve been in both and much prefer the lower tier at Chelsea, with it being so close to the pitch, although I don’t like being too near the front rows. One of those places, like QPR, where the players could be in the crowd if we score. A late winner that end is what I’m already dreaming about. 💤 -
QPR home pre-match thread, 3pm Saturday.
Drew Peacock replied to jayfox26's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just noticed your profile pic. Troy Hawke (Greeters Guild) is at De Mont on Saturday night so I’m looking forward to a double header with the QPR game first. I wonder if Jan Molby will be heckling him from the audience saying ‘Shoulder’s back.’ -
Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Drew Peacock replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
Just started listening to this and can already tell it’s going to be very therapeutic thanks. I know people say football isn’t important in the scheme of things blah blah, and they’re right, but my emotions tell me otherwise right now. Nice to symbolically wallow around in an unhappy emotional state with you guys for a while and then start looking forwards with lots of hope. Not commented on the pod before but I listen every week and it’s much appreciated. Bit late to the party, but the Guillem Balague episode was fascinating and I share the dislike of that creepy, Lego haired, Russell Martin. -

I don’t get it either and it’s an individualistic mindset that thinks ‘I’ll look after myself and do what I want, when I want’ rather than place more importance on the collective identity. Which of course they have the freedom to do. In many years football will probably be 25 minutes each way because of concerns over player health and injury prevention, and for the mental health of the crowd as they can’t be expected to have the concentration to sit or stand in one place for longer than that. Fans will leave their seat 15 mins before half time to head to the concourse to ask where their crap pie is, when the system in place to bring it to their seats is more than a minute later than the expected time. Some people will still start leaving for home 10-15 minutes before the final whistle, whatever the score. This will be to beat the rush to get to their own individual or family electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. Getting the 10 miles home in 2 minutes is much more appealing than getting home in 12 of course. What people do in life becomes weirder to me every year, but they’ll say in reply ‘Why are you bothered about what other people do?’ and they have a point of course. But actually sometimes what people choose to do isn’t for the good of the greater cause is it?

Stoke (A) 0-5 -- Post-Match Thread

Yes. 😂 Also ‘Hamza Choudhury, he drinks when he wants.’ Obviously, I’m not advocating drink driving before someone on here puts me right, but was funny in the context of a terrace chant. -

LCFC must offer General Sale to fans
Drew Peacock replied to Union FS's topic in Leicester City Forum
I was in my normal place yesterday and noticed two unfamiliar faces nearby. Got talking to them and it turned out to be a young lad and and his grandad. The grandad had brought his grandson to his first game. The lad was wide-eyed and absolutely buzzing with excitement. I must admit it made me feel a bit emotional. The young verses older age argument at football in this moment wasn’t a negative, it was the essence of what football culture should be like. They were both also proof that you can sit/stand in your seats for a couple of hours without seemingly having any adverse effects on your health. For all those campaigning for the next generation of football fans fair play to you. I don’t care how many negative stories there were from yesterday, the availability of general sale tickets was a success from my experience.- 682 replies

Just as bad was another mass exodus immediately as Ipswich scored, as if to make a protest point. It didn’t put us 5-0 down ffs. There should be a togetherness until the end, but sadly that is very broken right now. I know people pay their money and can do what they want, but I wish they’d take their half-arsed attitude a step further and stay at home. Then there would be no traffic to beat, they can make a drink for themselves right on half time instead of getting up to get one 15 minutes before, and they can be in bed by 9pm.

Thought I was in the Danny Ward thread for a moment.

Saying sold out now. ☹️
