Our defence options are poor. That's a big issue. -

Ricardo has hardly set us alight when he's played this season. Shadow of the great player he was before injury. -

The squad is poor though with some gems who could shine in the right environment. Let's hope van Nistelrooy can work some magic. Whatever our reservations on the club's hierarchy and the attitude of some players, time to come together. Hopefully fans can also persuade Top and others to sort their act out, though not holding my breath sadly. -

Maresca didn't rate him, so not just Cooper. -

I've said all season there are delusions amongst some on here about the standard of our squad. I've seen it in this thread again with some saying that Vardy, Ndidi, Ricardo Justin etc are PL standard players because of what they did 4 or so years ago. No recognition of what time and injuries do in professional physical sports. 4 years is a long time. It is not disrespectful to them or others to realise they are not going to perform at the level we need consistently now. Vestergaard is being touted again. But he isn't suddenly faster of thought or importantly deed than he was when we were last in the PL. We know his weaknesses. We lack strikers - stating the bleeding obvious. This quality of this squad is where we currently are and you can argue about whether that is misleading, i.e. better than it should be. Van Nistelrooy has a hell of a task, as did Cooper (but no going down that route, that's gone). Hopefully, he can galvanise attitudes and commitment - and organise. But he has little quality to play with. Let's be honest and give him some latitude in that task. -

Seeing some posts saying that we left some first team players on the bench. Perhaps I need that optician's appointment quicker than I've booked it for. -

Quite what RvN saw in us when we were beaten by 'his' piss poor ManU is baffling. He must have realised he was watching a crock of shit. Money talks I guess. -

The element of surprise some are expressing is, well... surprising. Almost as if 2 seasons ago never happened. Thomas we know is nowhere near PL standard, Faes showed he is too inconsistent to be, Vardy the legend is sadly way past his past, Ndidi is almost a busted flush. Justin has never recovered from his injuries. Soumare is mostly substandard. Wolves were happy to move Coady on, Palace ditto with Ayew. Okoli is new to the PL, Buonanotte is really inexperienced. -

The Cooper era is gone. But in many ways this selection reflects the paucity of our squad. -

Let's hope as a club we'll be in Ruud health very soon. -

Agree. And I'm more than happy to laugh at myself and indeed any language including Cymraeg/Welsh. I lived long enough out of Wales in England (including Leicester) and Scotland to enjoy banter. I may indeed have appeared a it thin-skinned on this one and I certainly am not having a go at those being genuinely playful and having a laugh. We do however get quite a lot of disrespect from some in the media who go out of their way to get say French places correctly (as they should), but for two days this week couldn't say the name of my hometown right. Anyway, I'll put my coat on as I've probably been a tad thin-skinned on this way. Appreciate your post and apologies if anyone was offended by my responses.

Maybe. But I've heard it all before.

Sadly, we might have to get used to saying Dutch names right if RvN gets the job. Not convinced by him at all.

The irony of people from Leicester, which makes no spelling sense in English, laughing at Welsh place names which are always spelt phonetically is hilarious. What about Caerlyr?🤔😂

Twinned with Kibworth Beauchamp and Plungar respectively.
