This is an interesting thread. I'm the wrong side of 50 but not old enough to retire yet. I believe I have also have a strong work ethic, less than 5 days sick in nearly 30 years. Also in quite a reactive job with lots of out of hours messages/calls/ problems and the job was getting to me a bit. I've decided to give my notice in and finish at end of August. I've given up my season ticket and plan to move to a different part of the country and work a less stressful job. Brave or stupid, not entirely sure yet??!!!

LCFC - Family Night Football memories/photos?

I went quite a bit. It was either free or £1 if you had a season ticket and often mates were going, let's face it no-one had anything better to do with a Monday night. It was a lot more entertaining than the season I've just watched. I think we had about 10000 there against Man Utd and Liverpool. -

I got just over 46 mins for Rothley 10k. I beat my last 2 times there so very happy with that. It was almost perfect weather for running. Great support out as always. And lovely fish and chips 😀 -

Anyone else doing Rothley on Tuesday evening? -
Can we do Lens away again, that was a brilliant trip

Queued for an hour from Lutterworth road to Fosse Park last night at around 20.40. People trying to cut through fosse park being turned around too. It was chaos for roadworks. Lasts 2 weeks apparently, overnight 8pm to 6am

Yeah pretty much although I'd expected a bit harder and a worse time. It starts at the lower car park, winds up through the trees to near the trig point. Then it does a steep down and quite uphill rectangle behind the upper car park and back to lower car park on same route. The views are fantastic. The start was quite narrow but cleared quickly as total numbers not that big. I was blowing like mad near the top and then on the loop bit. The last km is fantastic though if you're got anything left. Definitely go and try it, I'll do it again. I'd say it would be much better when dry. -

I did Beacon Hill parkrun for the first time. Quite a challenge, particularly the 1st mile but absolutely loved it! -

Agree with Cosbehfox, it's not flat. Worth practicing a few bits of hills before the day -

I went this morning, good for a visit but wouldn't want to do it every week. Obviously dry today so no problem there. You do run quite a lot around rugby pitches/playing field. Nice bit around a lake. Couple of narrow bits with runners going in both directions. Good wide start, easy parking and friendly marshalls. -

Rothley 10km, 3rd June. Always a great atmosphere, money goes to LOROS and fish and chips afterwards. What's not to like? Other than the hills!! -
I didn't have a hotel so slept in the hire car for a few hours. Woke up and it was -6, so cold!
-
No, moving away in the next 6 months. Will try and get to aways but know that's likely to be harder to get tickets. Had a season ticket on and off for most of last 25 years

I had a refuelling samosa chaat, biryani, chicken dhaba curry, garlic naan. Can't beat it, makes the running worth it! -

I got my fastest parkrun time for 8 years, 21.25, yesterday morning. Very happy with that. Aiming for a 21.00 minute one this spring -
Stayed at Atypik Hotel, Clichy, very near to Mairie de Clichy tube station. The area was decent decent cafes and the staff at the hotel were friendly . Rooms weren't big but in my experience Paris hotels all have small rooms.

I think it's the Court field at Earls Court station, someone else will confirm. Food and atmosphere decent last time I went -

It may sound obvious but a flat course with few corners. My nephew ran the same parkrun route 3 weeks in a row to finally get it on week 3.
