I think a bit of both with everything going on at the moment, sometimes you only need to look at someone and they take offence, but the vast majority of people are good people. Hopefully everything will calm down soon, it's a real shame people are feeling like this just going about their normal business

It's not just a case of giving people free lump sums like they've won the lottery, though, it's about investment in to places where it's needed most, and being able to raise the standard of living for people to bring the have nots closer to the haves.

I'd want either a new one properly installed, or the price you originally agreed for the house reduced by the amount it will cost you to replace it

Like many parents I expect, I'm thinking of the days my children used to go to child care in the summer holidays and our biggest worry was if they remember to put suncream on them. The poor parents must be bereft, it's just beyond heartbreaking. Sadly I'm learning that you don't ever get over the loss of a child, and I don't think there's a way to stop this kind of thing happening again, either. For all our modern advances elsewhere, we sure have left some good parts of society behind.

I don't personally find it offensive, no. At most it probably deserves an eye roll, if I'd heard it in real time I probably would have laughed. It's hardly a sackable offense imo, a quiet word to be a bit more careful would have been enough.

That was my point, though, I don't think there's ever any justification for that behaviour.

Not quite what I've had for my dinner, more dinner inspiration, specifically vegetarian. I have 4 potentially blissful weeks alone in a villa on the Algarve from Saturday, and I'm going to be meat free while I'm not cooking for anyone else. I need some inspiration though, particularly with how to use tofu, from what I've read it can be difficult to get flavour in to it? Does that matter if I'm going to use it as a chicken substitute in say a curry, or a tagine? How else does everyone get their protein, and anything I really need to consider before going without meat?

Maybe much of the increase comes from women feeling able to actually report these type of crimes rather than during, say, the eighties, when it was common for us to be dismissed and told we were asking for it because our skirt was too short, or the bloke was just doing what blokes do. I'm going to make the assumption that you are not a woman, so very easy for you to say.

Ah yes, the glorious eighties, the halcyon times when women couldn't walk down the street without being verbally abused, never mind go to a football match.
