The bloke a I spoke to ( and trust me, he should know) said it was definitely around 12,000.

Spoke to a chap who works at King Power. He said that although 27,000 tickets were sold (vast majority season tickets), the actual attendance on Monday was actually around 12,000. Worrying.
-
I agree, but that’s what a chap who works there told me.

I recently spoke to a chap who is directly affected by this. Payroll dates were apparently all over the place, so it made sense to unify them. He was very annoyed that they were given one day notice of the change. He also reckoned that Christmas is not a big holiday in Thailand, hence King Power was not fully aware of the ramifications.

The reason salary caps work in America is because the sports are basically unique to America, hence no real competition. If UK had a salary cap, then players would simply move to other European/Saudi leagues.

I think he gave Rudkin more authority who in turn was persuaded by Rodgers not to sell any stars.

I still maintain Covid played a key role in our demise. As a business, King Power was uniquely affected by Covid. It was therefore inevitable that ‘energy’ was primarily focused on saving its core business (duty free). Consequently, the manager, DOF,…….had more control/responsibility in managing the club and a litany of appalling decisions were made. As a club we are still trying to clean up the mess. What I find most disturbing is that the owners appear to not only be incapable of sorting out the mess (senior management sackings), but exasperating the situation. I fear dark times ahead.

I agree. Although I imagine there’s a major issue in persuading players to come to us. We could try to buy championship level players, but I’m not RVN would be on board with this. We’re in a very weird position. Accepting we’re most probably relegated, but trying to persuade premier league quality players we’re still and will remain a Prem club!!!!!!
-
I think the championship may possibly punish us for financial reasons.
-
It doesn’t surprise me that we are attempting to sign 5 players. I imagine we are trying to preemptive the transfer ban when we get relegated. Wouldn’t surprise me if a few are Championship experienced players.

LCFC will NOT face any charges for breaching PSR

Even in our financial predicament we could have purchased/hired better players/manager. But the fear of false fear of failing PSR stopped us from doing so. -

But we haven’t broken any of the rules, so i’n sure how we are supposed to be responsible. -

I genuinely think we should sue the PL; the threat of potentially breaking PSR rules has had a serious impact on the quality of players/manager we were able to recruit last summer, which in turn has resulted us being in our current position, thus impacting on the quality of players we can recruit in the January window. -
Jamie Vardy Appreciation
Glorious Leicester Fan replied to GeorgeTheFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
His longevity is because his professional career didn’t really start until he was in his mid twenties. Many strikers career are on the wain when they reach this age (Micheal Owen/Torres). -
My issue with RVN is that he was striker. Strikers are not typically good managers (Sir Alex/Clough the exceptions).

FFP is a joke. That said, as a club, we cannot continue to live precariously and use ‘ legal technicalities to escape financial/footballing mismanagement. We will eventually get caught out.
-
That was two years ago. We are currently a promoted club that will most probably be face a significant points deduction. This situation isn’t unique to us. The majority of promoted clubs find it hard to attract good players, hence most relegated. Occasionally you’ll find a couple of gems, but it’s not the norm.
-
I don’t think you can compare Puel’s recruitment to our current recruitment. When Puel was manager, we were an established Premiership team, which inevitably attracted better players/wages.
-
Our current strike force is a 37 year old striker who cannot play 90 mins. If we don’t buy/loan a striker, then it’s a dereliction of duty by the club.

Traditionally, there a significant distinction between Manager and head coach. The later implies a sporting director.
-
Intriguingly, Percy states Cooper will be appointed as ‘Head Coach’ and not ‘Manager’.

Callum O’Hare - Signed for Sheffield Utd.
Glorious Leicester Fan replied to Sly's topic in Transfer Talk
My father-in/law is a Cov fan and says O’Hare lacks the pace that is needed in the Prem.
