  1. Well what we can spend will explicitly be linked to turnover, so increasing turnover will always help. Only thing is that this kind of revenue stream seems very much a drop in the ocean. I do have a hunch that they may be doing it as a bit of a defence when we present our case on our previous breach though. A bit of a "look at all the ways we've started bringing money in" type thing.
  2. Even though the naming is apt, I'm not sure I am comfortable with Ward being number 2 for 6 months. Would either keep Iversen or look to get a freebie in as backup.
  3. Would be gutted if he left but this seems based on very little. No suggestion Chelsea would bid £45m either, we'd be getting much less and I don't see it being enough to move us.
  4. Selling Hermansen and promoting Stolarczyk to first choice makes way more sense in the world which may exist in 10 month's time where we've just been relegated.
  5. Hermansen and Fatawu are our two best assets imo. Would be gutted if either went at this point. The distribution from Hermansen was a known plus but he also scored very highly on save % and goals conceded vs xG faced. He's a top top keeper.
  6. Seems like our bid will be used to get Roma's bid up slightly, Juve will accept that to get it done knowing it's what the player wants. I guess we leave the offer on the table in case Juve play hardball over fee (they won't) but we should be moving on to other targets now.
  7. If he won't agree a contract with us then what option do Juve have?
  8. This seems like smart business to me. As long as contract length isn't crazy then I'm happy with this.
  9. Could bring it in for one year next season as I don't think we're likely to score that many goals anyway? Then ban it again when we're in the Champ. In all seriousness really enjoyed the European trips where you can sit watching the game with a beer, even though I don't tend to drink at Leicester games. But it would be a shitshow over here, don't wanna go home drenched in beer.
  10. I think we got a decent price for him in all honesty. A decent player and a great guy but I think the right time to sell. I think his success at Chelsea is very contingent on Enzo. Still not sure on why Chelsea are fishing in these waters though. Poaching from top end Champ feels more like where we should be shopping. It is a depressing feature of modern football and PSR rules, but ultimately if we want to compete in the top half of the Prem then this sort of transfer HAS to be the model. It's the only way we increase turnover enough to allow us to compete.
  11. Feel like there is some mutual back scratching in this too. Fee feels ok to me, but club may have got some fee baked into a discount on Golding. Allows us to meet PSR, allows Chelsea to dilute KDH PSR impact this year, allows us to add promising youngster which will be our MO on transfers for a while.
  12. There's a lot of doom and gloom at the moment but genuinely looking forward to another year of watching this guy. Was in love the moment he came on, cut inside and slapped it against the post against Hull. Think he might have a bit more freedom in Cooper's system, which could be fun.
  13. It's weird that they keep going for it despite not having much success with signings from us.
  14. I actually think this is a reasonable fee for him. Not sure it's a great move for his career, but decent for his bank balance. It's odd the waters Chelsea are fishing in now. Also no point comparing to other fees. Way more factors than player quality go into it: club's leverage, player age, player wage, contract length remaining, psr,...
  15. Something seems odd with that tweet. Swap deal makes no sense given financial plight, would just go through as separate transfers same way all other clubs struggling with PSR have done. I think it's probably a sensible time to sell with his stock high and our financial situation to be honest.
  16. It will be very weird if something like that does end up being the first. I guess people who aren't actually interested in the sport itself would go to pay for the media circus. Maybe less pushback from the fans too as they want the cash injection.
  17. Game has truly gone, my only hope is that it ends up being one of the greedy 7 that is affected rather than the rest of us. Could see a scenario where 4th-7th in the PL go out and play a sort of playoff tournament to decide CL/Europa spots.
  18. Vestergaard will at least be on £0 book value now. If he wanted to move back to Denmark/Germany or something in 12 months then we may be able to get a small fee for him.
  19. The same administration wouldn't offer Lloyd Dyer more than a year last time we were promoted. Not sure why they switched strategy this time, particularly given financial problems. Would say it was due to not being able to find a replacement purchase but then were apparently after Rodon so it's a mystery to me.
  20. Football clubs need to be stopped from ever increasing player wages pushing up the cost to fans. Salary cap needed. I mean people can play the "business" argument in terms of covering losses, but a sensible business with our recent record would have at least attempted to reduce expenses a little bit! Can't be right that so many in the PL are running at big losses.
  21. Foxestalk has an immaculate record of being disappointed by players/managers who turn out to be great, and excited by players/managers who turn out to be shit.
  22. Good record of working with youth, and would be very good to see some of our promising youth who were on the fringes last season start to get game time. Particularly useful when we can't go on a shopping spree. Likes to work with a smaller squad. Again works with transfer constraints. Has recently kept a team up who were fancied for relegation. So appropriate experience. Created a siege mentality at Forest - I feel like this squad need a bit of steel and resolve added. Look at hoe they handled the run-in versus how we did: we took 9 points under Smith, they took 11 at the same time, which included a win against Arsenal, a win against Brighton, and a draw against Chelsea.
  23. Number 6

    Joe Rodon

I have similar reservations on the quality of them too at this level. A high number of average players in this position doesn't seem like a great situation to be in!
  24. They were even "pleased" the announce the ticket price hike...but not this weirdly!
