Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Babylon replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
There is nothing to argue, it’s not at that stage yet. What the club said was "The club is committed to ensure that any charges against it are properly and proportionately determined, in accordance with the applicable rules, by the right bodies, and at the right time,". As far as I know, what what went on before with the EFL and our statements is that we are at this stage arguing about when any punishment takes place. I’m sure it will open up a broader discussion. We won’t start laying out our own case against any potential punishment until we actually need to, which isn’t yet. -

Is that what we are arguing? I haven’t seen the cases we’ve brought but it sounded like we were just fighting their rights to get involved at this moment in time, not ambitions. -
Sure it was. And the Trestrellar deal was perfectly normal.

Poor family, hard enough dealing with it with one person, let alone two.

Serious question, did you want Vichai held accountable for breaking them the last time we had were in the champ? Or do we just give that a pass because we won the league before agreeing our fine?

We I presume are just trying to avoid any punishment for this season. Going up, taking the money, resetting the squad with all the out of contract players, knowing we come down again with cash in the bank to have a go at promotion again (or by a miracle, staying up). -

I think a never ending soap opera like Coronation Street or Emerdale. I think all we need is a serial killer to be working for the club. -

I shouldn’t be laughing, but this is just standard lcfc isn’t it. Every single bloody year it’s drama. If any club is simultaneously bringing court cases against the EFL and the EPL, whilst blowing a massive double digit lead, getting a transfer ban, and breaking PSR, it’s always going to be this basket case of a club. -

Judging by the last panel decision the league had Lionel Hutz defending them, and we had Johnnie Cochran (aware he’s actually dead). I get the feeling we might have been planning all of this for some time. Going back to extending our accounting period last year. -

I’d imagined he’s said we haven’t denied it. Which is the case, but we don’t actually have to just yet. Or offer mitigating circumstances, which I’m sure we will. In laymen’s terms, you give your full defence when brought to court. Not when the police officer knocks on your door and puts you in handcuffs. -
Didn’t want to sign anyone anyway.

They are upset they got their asses handed to them by the last independent panel we took them to.

I don’t think it suggests anything of the sort, that’s a totally different argument we’ll make when the time comes. What it seems we are arguing is that due to a bit of a mess up in the rules, we weren’t a championship team on x date. And because of that, they have no right to judge us until the next period. They are similarly arguing that, the premier league changed their rules and want to hold us to account for said new rules, despite us not being a premier league team when they were agreed. If the club is correct, it’s some really poor planning and rule writing. Us offering mitigating circumstances will come when we are actually charged with something and when we have a case to answer. Which is a bit further down the line. I think the end goal is to punt the points to next season and then we argue about how many then. -

The athletic wrote this not much more than a month ago. "City have also been charged with breaching UEFA’s financial fair play (FFP) rules, as well as the Premier League’s PSR. A final layer of litigation comes from the Premier League’s claims that City did not cooperate fully with investigations in “the utmost good faith”. I have no apetite to read all 115 charges to check for myself though -

Well, I would imagine Terraloon because the "clear and defined process" is already in tatters. We have already referred the EFL to Independent Financial Reporting Panel, to argue that that cannot enforce the rules as they beleive they are allowed to. And said panel found in our favour. The EFL even admitted their own rules aren't written very well in their own evidence to the panel. I think at one stage even referring to something along the lines of "not in the spirit of PSR". Which sort of sounded like, yeah we ****ed up o the actual rules, but come on, you know what we were trying to say. And the club are arguing their new PL rules don't apply to them, as they weren't a premier league club when they were passed. A very similar argument to the one used against the league. So it does seem like the rules aren't working in tandem. -

I'd hope many realise they kept quiet when we failed ffp before, and spent loads after COVID when it was clear it would lead to a massive loss, and gave players big new contracts to try and keep them. The game plan has been there in plain sight, really, since they arrived. Reminds me of the shock when we posted huge losses on the back of Covid, and then spending £60m. Nobody cares when shiny new things are coming in the door and performances are good. How we can actually afford it passes without barely a mention. I was hoping so many costs being involved in infrastructure that, with some creative accounting, we'd pass or bend some rules again. My question for them now is that your high risk / high reward game plan has crumbled (more so if we don't get promoted). So what's plan B, we can't keep digging a hole. -
I certainly will be next year

It seems head scratchingly moronic that there isn't a clear process set up for what happens upon a club's relegation and failure of PSR. Or.... at least something that works in tandem and not two contradictory ones. How many times now have these rules been changed in the last decade, it's an absolute farce. -

It did happen under him: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/21/leicester-settlement-football-league-ffp We have a long history of taking risks, pushing boundaries, bending (or whisper it quietly, purposely breaking). Let's not forget the Trestellar Ltd fiasco. All of which shall we not forget, predates a certain director of football, so these instructions were coming from the top. -
I would have if I were eligible; alas, I'm not.

There was me stupidly thinking I was on the mend on day 3 yesterday afternoon... until the next fever hit last night. The headache I've got is something else! don't matter how many or what pills you take, nothing touches it.

What sort of idiot would actually think murders, serial killings, plane crashes etc would continually happen one place.

Not sure anyone watches soaps for believability to be honest.

The flu is going about as well. I know loads who have it and haven’t even mixed. It sucks.

They only work half days, there is nobody there to ask.
