  1. No you are right we should just let him go and then spread our already likely limited budget even further on getting another replacement.
  2. And his attitude could still have been the same, and then we've got no player to use. Also, did it work with soyuncu?
  3. If we got an offer that was good and the players actually wanted to go. Tielemans seemed to be after a free from the start.
  4. It's not that curious, if it's going to take more to replace someone than you're going to get, and you have a limited budget. You are better to keep the players, which is the situation we've been in.
  5. Not sure we did move far away from it… we tried to sign a lot of young talent, they were just mostly poor picks. We never only just signed young players, it’s about balance.
  6. And if they hadn’t moved heaven and earth to keep him at the time people would also slate them. For the first few years he looked like a genius which is easy to forget. As I said there is plenty to sort out.
  7. Of course it’s their fault, they chose to overspend. But if we only over made a profit and and didn’t spend, the chances are we wouldn’t compete either, we would just exist. Imagine Palace, or Everton for eternity. Who the hell wants that. Our game plan was always on a knife edge and needed everything to be done well. A few cock ups on the transfer front or backing a manager a bit too long and things crumble, but as we’ve seen there is also an upside to that knife edge game plan when it goes well. Whilst there is plenty for them to sort out, I’m also going to admit I liked their game plan for a decade of relative success.
  8. All clubs will, but obviously starting from a lower wage ratio allows you a fresh start and room to move. Other clubs are going to have to do a lot of wheeling and dealing.
  9. I think you are looking at accounts, which are always a year behind. Our last accounts increased in no small part due to us extending our accounting period by a month, which meant 13 months wages rather than 12 in them. That’s nothing to do with last seasons wages.
  10. The rules as they stand end soon, and will be based on wages to turnover. Weirdly that would put us in a very strong position because we’ve lost the vast majority of high earners now. So wage to turnover would be very low. Next season is a shitter taking the points, but then the worst thing that happens is you go down, with a chance to get the finances under control now and a reset in the parachute payments. Are Everton and Forest up in arms at anyone but the rules? I’ve not seen much of it, so that’s hyperbolic.
  11. Town used to be filled with the older generation back in then day, BHS, C&A, M&S (they love an acronym), Debenhams, even using the market. Can't imagine them wanting to go there any more, I feel uneasy wandering around the clock tower area, so god knows what they might feel like.
  12. So far, the panels have proven themselves different, thankfully. They are the ones making the final decision and not the premier league. It's very black and white with them.
  13. If a player is meeting Rudkin, they it's highly likely he's already given the move a thumbs up. If the process is anything like it was under Walsh, Glover and the scouts will be out making relationships with players and their agents.
  14. They don't really consider much. Their attitude is, you knew the rules and in the worst case scenario should basically no over spend. We have some mitigation, such as clubs broke the rules, helped get us relegated and made our losses worse. But we had giant losses the year before, so even that's not a massive mitigation.
  15. We gave them our accounts when we had to and forecast a breach. Not sure what other process there is, we've never denied we were going to breach, we just argued when their ability to do anything kicked in
  16. And if you spend the money and get relegated? What’s the grand plan then?
  17. La Manga, Stan the Fireman with his extinguisher. O’Neill will he stay will he go, Gang of Four,
  18. Just wait for the 10 year anniversary and them all being retired. Get the team back together for something with Ranieri.
  19. Our MO this summer, presuming we take the money thing seriously, will probably be quite a few players who we think will be good in the championship with the potential to step up.
  20. We've followed the league's rule as they were written; what case do they think they have exactly? Take it up with the league.
  21. Someone contact CSI Preston.
  22. I tell you what's embarrassing. Arsenal levels of over-celebration when beating us, declaring yourselves the best team in the league and finishing 3rd, saying the start of the season doesn't count because you signed our wingers about two days after we signed ours. Perhaps next time you'll have some humility when you win a single game, because clearly all you managed to do was turn around our "bottle job" by adding some motivation to the players.
  23. Don’t worry, something good will take its place, like an American Candy store. Once John Lewis goes, and it will go. It will be rats deserting a sinking ship with the rest.
  24. Imagine the contract announcement on Saturday before / after the game!
